Opis:
The main purpose of this study was to check whether there are relationships between the partner’s communication behaviours and online activity. The aspect of online activity was divided into: self-disclosure, support-seeking, making and keeping interpersonal contacts. To measure it, an authorial tool was used, called the Questionnaire of Activity in The Internet’s Social Space. In order to measure the partner’s communication behaviours, the Communication in Marriage Questionnaire (Kaźmierczak and Plopa) was used. It includes the following dimensions: support, commitment, depreciation. It was assumed that the partner’s depreciation will correlate positively, and both the partner’s support and commitment negatively with individual dimensions of online activity. The group of respondents consisted 85 women and 63 men, aged 19 to 71. The results showed that there is a positive correlation between partner’s depreciation and also a negative correlation between partner’s support and online supportseeking. No other hypotheses regarding the relationship between partner’s communication and online activity were confirmed. The correlation between the partner’s commitment and online self-disclosure turned out to be positive and therefore opposite to the assumption. Age was considered a variable that could have an impact on this unexpected result, as it negatively correlates with both the partner’s commitment and all dimensions of online activity.

Opis:
The issue of contemporary linguistic taboo seems to be an important one due to the fact that we deal with its consequences in scientific, as well as social and educational, discourse. However, it has not been explored extensively enough. This thesis aims to investigate the differences in lexical processing of taboo and neutral words. The data was collected in a two-steps procedure. Firstly, a questionnaire was used to examine what topics are considered to be taboo in different age groups. Secondly, a psychological experiment was conducted with use of E-Prime programme in order to investigate the difference in taboo and neutral words reaction time. 58 people participated in the experiment, divided into two age groups. No statistically significant differences were observed between taboo and neutral words reaction time. However, it was proven that the taboo words reaction time is, in fact, statistically significantly longer for people in middle adulthood stage than for students. This study considers emotional valence as the only factor distinguishing taboo words from neutral words. In the future, to enable more precise words selection, the study should consider other lexical properties of the words as well.

Opis:
Hate speech is defined as verbal abuse against minority groups. Its emotional basis is contempt which activates anger and revulsion. Therefore, it seems to be justified to speak of “contempt speech and hate speech” as a spreading social phenomenon, in effect resulting in a generalised deterioration in attitudes toward minorities. The media and public figures play a huge role in promoting hate speech, and it is also fostered by the sense of danger accompanying the COVID-19 pandemic. In order to stop this process, we should start to perceive hate speech as a serious social problem, the conditions and consequences of which should be the subject of reflection and scientific studies.

Opis:
The aim of this study was to explore the subject of place attachment and connected factors (such as social trust, attachment style and anxiety) in the context of enforced isolation caused by world pandemic COVID-19. For this purpose a longitudinal study was conducted, in the first part of which 127 people were examined, and 35 in second. During the survey were used: Place Attachment Scale, General Trust Scale, Relationship Questionnaire, and STAI -X1 Questionnaire. The study confirmed the negative relationship between place attachment and anxiety: the higher the level of anxiety, the lower the strength of place attachment. This relationship was also found to be stable over time and significant during both the first and third lockdown.

Opis:
The thematic diversity and the way narrative is understood demonstrate the vitality of the concept and the phenomenon of narrative in psychology. This article presents some questions and dilemmas that narrative psychology, which is still a young discipline in search of its scientific identity, pose to researchers. It is not our ambition to resolve these questions; instead, we perceive them as moments of (dis)continuity in the ongoing narrative story and as markers of the directions of research and theoretical considerations. We identify such themes as the distinction between utterance and narrative, the space between author and listener, the directions in which the notion of narrative identity is expanding, and the link between narrative structure and narrative process. The methodological diversity the narrative perspective introduces allows us to pose research questions in a qualitative and quantitative approach.
