Opis:
In the paper, we consider an equilibrium problem for a 2D elastic body with a thin elastic inclusion crossing an external boundary. The elastic body has a defect which is characterized by a positive damage parameter. The presence of a defect means that the problem is formulated in a non-smooth domain. Non-linear boundary conditions at the defect faces are imposed to prevent the mutual penetration between the faces. Both variational and differential problem formulations are proposed, and existence of solutions is established. We study an asymptotics of solutions with respect to the damage parameter as well as with respect to a rigidity parameter of the inclusion. Identification problems for finding the damage parameter are investigated. To this end, existence of solutions of optimal control problems is proven.

Necessary and sufficient conditions for a set-valued map K : R → Rn to be GDQ-differentiable are given. It is shown that K is GDQ differentiate at to if and only if it has a local multiselection that is Cellina continuously approximable and Lipschitz at to. It is also shown that any minimal GDQ of K at (to,yo) is a subset of the contingent derivative of K at (to,yo), evaluated at 1. Then this fact is used to prove a viability theorem that asserts existence of a solution to the initial value problem y(t) ∈ F(t, y(t)), with y(to) =yo, where F : Gr(K) → Rn is an orientor field (i.e. multivalued vector field) defined only on the graph of K and K : T → Rn is a time-varying constraint multifunction. One of the assumptions is GDQ differentiability of K.

Opis:
Abstract controlled evolution inclusions are revisited in the Banach spaces setting. The existence of solution is established for each selected control. Then, the input–output (or, control-states) multimap is examined and the Lipschitz continuous well posedness is derived. The optimal control of such inclusions handled in terms of a Bolza problem is investigated by means of the so-called PF format of optimization. A strong duality is provided, the existence of an optimal pair is given and the system of optimalty is derived. A Fenchel duality is built and applied to optimal control of convex process of evolution. Finally, it will be shown how the general theory we provided can be applied to a wide class of controled integrodifferental inclusions.

Opis:
The notion of sharp minima, or strongly unique local minima, emerged in the late 1970's as an important tool in the analysis of the perturbation behavior of certain classes of optimization problems as well as in the convergence analysis of algorithms designed to solve these problems. The work of Cromme and Polyak is of particular importance in this development. In the late 1980's Ferris coined the term weak sharp minima to describe the extension of the notion of sharp minima to include the possibility of a non-unique solution set. This notion was later extensively studied by many authors. Of particular note in this regard is the paper by Burke and Ferrris which gives an extensive exposition of the notion and its impact on convex programming and convergence analysis in finite dimensions. In this paper we build on the work of Burke and Ferris. Specifically, we generalize their work to the normed linear space setting, further dissect the normal cone inclusion characterization for weak sharp minima, study the asymptotic properties of weak sharp minima in terms of associated recession functions, and give new characterizations for local weak sharp minima and boundely weak sharp minima. This paper is the first of a two part work on this subject. In Part II, we study the links between the notions of weak sharp minima, bounded linear regularity, linear regularity, metric regularity, and error bounds in convex programming. Along the way, we obtain both new results and reproduce many existing results from a fresh perspective.
