Opis:
The purpose of this study was to compare the effect of quadriceps isometric exercises along with hip abductors isometric exercises as integrated exercise with quadriceps exercises in reducing pain, disability in medial knee osteoarthritis. The Total of 54 patients (both male and female) were recruited in this study but on the basis of inclusion and exclusion criteria, only 32 were included in this study. Womac index was opted as outcome measures to collect the data of pain, disability and functional limitation. Participants were randomly assigned to integrated exercise group; (n = 16) (mean age 52) who performed exercises [Quadriceps isometric along with hip abductor isometric exercises] and quadriceps isometric exercises group (n = 16) (mean age 49) performed for 3 weeks. 32 patients were analyzed and the effect of integrated exercises [Quadriceps isometric along with hip abductor isometric exercises] showed a statistically significant difference in pain, disability and functional limitation (p < 0.000). Total duration to collect the pre and post data of pain, disability and functional limitation was 3 weeks. 3 weeks of exercise protocol was effective in both groups in terms of reducing pain and disability but integrated exercises were found to be more effective than quadriceps exercise in improving the pain, disability and functional limitation over the time at the level of significance.

Opis:
In-water corrective exercises and corrective swimming are a very important element of prevention and correction of body posture defects. These occupancies are more frequently being used in modern treatment of these conditions. Advantageous influence of corrective exercises in water is predefined with specificity of water environment. The organization of corrective process is highly significant for successful final effects. The main aim of this review was to collect all organizational questions that may become useful for future instructors who want to carry the correction process effectively. The authors, based on literature review, personal knowledge and their experiences assembled most important organizational questions about swimming and in-water corrective exercises in case of multiply-curves scoliosis.

Opis:
The relevance of the study is due to the need to improve the quality of training of future physical education (PE) specialists. Knowledge of the legacy of outstanding teachers is the basis for the formation of professional competencies of PE specialists. The experience of F. Nachtegall, the Scandinavian educator of New Times, the main stages of his activity on the introduction of PE in education, their content and results became an impulse to recognize the importance of physical and moral health of young people as the main object of attention of authorities, benefactors and society during the period under study. The educational reforms initiated by him ensured the availability of PE to all young people, promoted the education of healthy, industrious, useful citizens and led to the institutionalisation of PE. Founding Europe's first gymnastics club and a private gymnastics school for different classes, organising and running a school for training civic gymnastics teachers, and founding a gymnastics college - these are just a small part of Nachtegall's multifaceted activities. Nachtegall's practical experience had an enormous influence on the creation of the organisational, programme, control and methodological foundations for the formation of didactic knowledge on the teaching process of PE.

Opis:
According to the statistical data, there is being observed a definite increase in percentage of children affected by posture defects, particularly scolioses. The aquatic environment facilitates treatment of scolioses, since it provides relief conditions used in order to perform prophylactic, corrective and therapeutic tasks. Hydrokinetic therapy is one of the many rehabilitation methods. It seems, however, that corrective and therapeutic swimming is far too rarely used as an auxiliary measure for treatment of scolioses. This paper presents the concept of treatment of scolioses employing asymmetrical exercises in aquatic environment, the author of which in Poland is Iwanowski. In the study desk research of literature studies was applied along with the analysis of publications, including available study reports, articles, documents and also own video and photographic materials. The author suggests the concept of conservative treatment of scolioses through the application of asymmetrical swimming exercises in aquatic environment. Such procedure is efficient in preventing significant spinal deformations, which may protect against surgical intervention.

Opis:
More and more often specialized literature mentions the contemporarily relevant notion of the application of swimming as one of the therapeutic methods in modern medicine. The thesis reviews specialized literature and analyzes documents in order to demonstrate the significance of aquatic therapy and corrective swimming exercises as a corrective and therapeutic function in the treatment of postural deficits and scoliosis. As this article has a character of a review, its purpose is to attempt a concise synthesis of the knowledge concerning the impact of swimming as a sport on the development of the physiological spinal curvature, as well as to emphasize the significance of aquatic therapy and corrective swimming exercises in counterbalancing gravity and supporting the body weight and to demonstrate their health benefits.
