Opis:
This paper introduces a new algorithm of trajectory reproduction and trajectory tracking for nonholonomic systems. The endogenous configuration space approach is employed as a guideline in the algorithm derivation. The derivation uses a trajectory reproduction error, which is an integral of the difference between the resultant trajectory and the desired trajectory over the motion horizon. Such a definition of the error allows to solve both the trajectory reproduction as well as the trajectory tracking problem. Considerable attention in the paper has been paid to the implementation aspects of the algorithm. The nonparametric approach is used together with a higher order of the integration method. The algorithm efficiency is illustrated with computer simulations accomplished for two nonholonomic systems: the dynamics of the double pendulum with a passive joint, and the kinematics of the unicycle.

Opis:
Field conditions decrease the energy output of photovoltaic (PV) systems, mainly due to excessive temperatures. However, in regions with moderate ambient temperatures, as in Poland, solar energy is commonly delivered with highly fluctuating irradiance. This introduces yet another source of energy losses due to the non-ideal tracking of actual position of Maximum Power Point (MPP). Majority of PV-systems are equipped with DC/AC and grid-connected inverter. Since the solar energy flux is variable, an adequate MPP-tracking algorithm is required to handle a wide range of load levels and face rapid changes of input power. Along with the essential DC/AC conversion, the quality of MPP-tracking must also be taken into account in evaluation of inverter efficiency. The tracking in dynamic conditions has been addressed only recently. Several algorithms has been studied theoretically, experimentally or in laboratory conditions by applying artificial input test-patterns. This work takes the opposite approach by applying the recorded real-life solar irradiance and simulating the tracking behavior to study the problem for true field conditions in Poland. The simulation uses the unique high-quality irradiance data collected with 200 ms time resolution. The calculation of both static and dynamic MPP-tracking efficiency has been performed for representative variable-cloudy day, applying commonly used Perturb&Observe tracking algorithm.

Opis:
This study is devoted to the modeling and control of a 4-wheel, skid-steering mobile platform with coupled side wheels, subject to lateral and longitudinal slips. The dynamics equations of the platform are derived, and 16 variants of motion distinguished. For the variant of motion allowing for all possible slips of the wheels two control problems are addressed: the motion planning problem and the trajectory tracking problem. The former problem is solved by means of a Jacobian motion planning algorithm based on the Endogenous Configuration Space Approach and, complementarily, using the Optimal Control Approach. The Nonlinear Model Predictive Control is applied to the latter problem. Performance of these control algorithms is illustrated by a sort of the parking problem. Significant robustness of the predictive control algorithm against the model uncertainty is revealed.

Opis:
The goal of this paper was to determine necessary dynamical conditions for the object tracking task. Developing these conditions required examining dynamical relationships between the UAV, camera head, disturbances and tracked object. This analysis was conducted in order to assess whether a given UAV-camera head set was suitable for a given object tracking task. The study assumed that the UAV was equipped with a flight trajectory control system. We discussed the methods of the dynamical properties description and finding a range of application for a particular set “UAV-camera head”. For each dynamical element of the examined system, we proposed a method of computing the parameters of the simulation model which corresponded to the behaviour of the real elements. In order to describe the range of the applications for the UAV-camera head set, we defined the space Ω – all combinations of the parameters which characterized the dynamics of the disturbance and object. Moreover, this study developed the method of selecting the subspace Ωs which described acceptable parameters of the object’s and disturbance’s dynamics. This paper presented the example of proper object tracking in the case of meeting the dynamical conditions and the example of losing the object in the opposite case.

Opis:
Eye-gaze tracking is an aspect of human-computer interaction still growing in popularity,. Tracking human gaze point can help control user interfaces and may help evaluate graphical user interfaces. At the same time professional eye-trackers are very expensive and thus unavailable for most of user interface researchers and small companies. The paper presents very effective, low cost, computer vision based, interactive eye-gaze tracking method. On contrary to other authors results the method achieves very high precision (about 1.5 deg horizontally and 2.5 deg vertically) at 20 fps performance, exploiting a simple HD web camera with reasonable environment restrictions. The paper describes the algorithms used in the eye-gaze tracking method and results of experimental tests, both static absolute point of interest estimation, and dynamic functional gaze controlled cursor steering.

Opis:
A one-dimensional (1D) analytic example for dynamic displacement tracking in linear viscoelastic solids is presented. Displacement tracking is achieved by actuation stresses that are produced by eigenstrains. Our 1D example deals with a viscoelastic half-space under the action of a suddenly applied tensile surface traction. The surface traction induces a uni-axial shock wave that travels into the half-space. Our tracking goal is to add to the applied surface traction a transient spatial distribution of actuation stresses such that the total displacement of the viscoelastic half-space coincides with the shock wave produced by the surface traction in a purely elastic half-space. We particularly consider a half-space made of a viscoelastic Maxwell-type material. Analytic solutions to this tracking problem are derived by means of the symbolic computer code MAPLE. The 1D solution presented below exemplifies a formal 3D solution derived earlier by the present authors for linear viscoelastic solids that are described by Boltzmann hereditary laws. In the latter formal solution, no reference was made to shock waves. Our present solution demonstrates its validity also in the presence of singular wave fronts. Moreover, in our example, we show that, as was also indicated in our earlier work, the actuation stress can be split into two parts, one of them producing no stresses, and the other no displacements in two properly enlarged problems.

Opis:
Object tracking based on Siamese networks has achieved great success in recent years, but increasingly advanced trackers are also becoming cumbersome, which will severely limit deployment on resource-constrained devices. To solve the above problems, we designed a network with the same or higher tracking performance as other lightweight models based on the SiamFC lightweight tracking model. At the same time, for the problems that the SiamFC tracking network is poor in processing similar semantic information, deformation, illumination change, and scale change, we propose a global attention module and different scale training and testing strategies to solve them. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, this paper has done comparative experiments on the ILSVRC, OTB100, VOT2018 datasets. The experimental results show that the method proposed in this paper can significantly improve the performance of the benchmark algorithm.

Opis:
Maritime Autonomous Surface Ships (MASS) perfectly fit into the future vision of merchant fleet. MASS autonomous navigation system combines automatic trajectory tracking and supervisor safe trajectory generation subsystems. Automatic trajectory tracking method, using line-of-sight (LOS) reference course generation algorithm, is combined with model predictive control (MPC). Algorithm for MASS trajectory tracking, including cooperation with the dynamic system of safe trajectory generation is described. It allows for better ship control with steady state cross-track error limitation to the ship hull breadth and limited overshoot after turns. In real MASS ships path is defined as set of straight line segments, so transition between trajectory sections when passing waypoint is unavoidable. In the proposed control algorithm LOS trajectory reference course is mapped to the rotational speed reference value, which is dynamically constrained in MPC controller due to dynamically changing reference trajectory in real MASS system. Also maneuver path advance dependent on the path tangential angle difference, to ensure trajectory tracking for turns from 0 to 90 degrees, without overshoot is used. All results were obtained with the use of training ship in real–time conditions.

Opis:
For 3D object localization and tracking with multiple cameras the camera poses have to be known within a high precision. The paper evaluates camera pose estimation via a fundamental matrix and via the known object in environment of multiple static cameras. A special feature point extraction technique based on LED (Light Emitting Diodes) point detection and matching has been developed for this purpose. LED point detection has been solved searching local maximums in images and LED point matching has been solved involving patterned time functions for each light source. Emitting LEDs have been used as sources of known reference points instead of typically used feature point extractors like ORB, SIFT, SURF etc. In such a way the robustness of pose estimation has been obtained. Camera pose estimation is significant for object localization using the networks with multiple cameras which are going to an play increasingly important role in modern Smart Cities environments.

Opis:
This paper considers the problem of the accurate task space finite-time control susceptible to both undesirable disturbance forces exerted on the end-effector and unknown friction forces coming from joints directly driven by the actuators as well as unstructured forces resulting from the kinematic singularities appearing on the mechanism trajectory. We obtain a class of estimated extended transposed Jacobian controllers which seem to successfully counteract the external disturbance forces on the basis of a suitably defined task-space non-singular terminal sliding manifold (TSM) and the Lyapunov stability theory. Moreover, in order to overcome (or to minimise) the undesirable chattering effects, the proposed robust control law involves the second-order sliding technique. The numerical simulations (closely related to an experiment) ran for a mobile manipulator consisting of a non-holononic platform of (2;0) type and a holonomic manipulator of two revolute kinematic pairs show the performance of the proposed controllers and make a comparison with other well-known control schemes.

Opis:
We analyze the Google-Apple exposure notification mechanism designed by the Apple-Google consortium and deployed on a large number of Corona-warn apps. At the time of designing it, the most important issue was time-to-market and strict compliance with the privacy protection rules of GDPR. This resulted in a plain but elegant scheme with a high level of privacy protection. In this paper we go into details and propose some extensions of the original design addressing practical issues. Firstly, we point to the danger of a malicious cryptographic random number generator (CRNG) and resulting possibility of unrestricted user tracing. We propose an update that enables verification of unlinkability of pseudonymous identifiers directly by the user. Secondly, we show how to solve the problem of verifying the “same household” situation justifying exempts from distancing rules. We present a solution with MIN-sketches based on rolling proximity identifiers from the Apple-Google scheme. Thirdly, we examine the strategies for revealing temporary exposure keys. We have detected some unexpected phenomena regarding the number of keys for unbalanced binary trees of a small size. These observations may be used in case that the size of the lists of diagnosis keys has to be optimized.

Opis:
The wind energy conversion systems (WECS) suffer from an intermittent nature of source (wind) and the resulting disparity between power generation and electricity demand. Thus, WECS are required to be operated at maximum power point (MPP). This research paper addresses a sophisticated MPP tracking (MPPT) strategy to ensure optimum (maximum) power out of the WECS despite environmental (wind) variations. This study considers a WECS (fixed pitch, 3KW, variable speed) coupled with a permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) and proposes three sliding mode control (SMC) based MPPT schemes, a conventional first order SMC (FOSMC), an integral back-stepping-based SMC (IBSMC) and a super-twisting reachability-based SMC, for maximizing the power output. However, the efficacy of MPPT/control schemes rely on availability of system parameters especially, uncertain/nonlinear dynamics and aerodynamic terms, which are not commonly accessible in practice. As a remedy, an off-line artificial function-fitting neural network (ANN) based on Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm is employed to enhance the performance and robustness of MPPT/control scheme by effectively imitating the uncertain/nonlinear drift terms in the control input pathways. Furthermore, the speed and missing derivative of a generator shaft are determined using a high-gain observer (HGO). Finally, a comparison is made among the stated strategies subjected to stochastic and deterministic wind speed profiles. Extensive MATLAB/Simulink simulations assess the effectiveness of the suggested approaches.
