Opis:
Visual data analysis is an appealing and increasing field of application. We present two related visual analysis approaches that allow for the visualization of graphical model parameters and time-dependent association rules. When the graphical model is defined over purely nominal attributes, its local structure can be interpreted as an association rule. Such association rules comprise one of the most prominent and wide-spread analysis techniques for pattern detection, however, there are only few visualization methods. We introduce an alternative visual representation that also incorporates time since patterns are likely to change over time when the underlying data was collected from real-world processes. We apply the technique to both an artificial and a complex real-life dataset and show that the combined automatic and visual approach gives more and faster insight into the data than a fully-automatic approach only. Thus, our proposed method is capable of reducing considerably the analysis time.

Opis:
In this paper, we introduce a novel method of joint compression and encryption of visual data. In the proposed approach the compression stage is based on block quantization while the encryption uses fast parametric orthogonal transforms of arbitrary forms in combination with a novel scheme of intra-block mixing of data vectors. Theoretical analysis of the method indicates no impact of encryption stage on the effectiveness of block quantization with an additional step of first order entropy coding. Moreover, a series of experimental studies involving natural images and JPEG lossy compression standard were performed. Here, the obtained results indicate a high level of visual content concealment with only a small reduction of compression performance. An additional analysis of security allows to state that the proposed method is resistant to cryptanalytic attacks known for visual data encryption schemes including the most efficient NZCA attack. The proposed method can be also characterized by high computational efficiency and feasibility of hardware realizations.

Opis:
The objective of the research was to investigate the efficiency of selected methods of data fusion from visual sensors used on-board satellites for attitude measurements. Data from a sun sensor, an earth sensor, and a star tracker were fused, and selected methods were applied to calculate satellite attitude. First, a direct numerical solution, a numerical and analytical solution of the Wahba problem, and the TRIAD method for attitude calculation were compared used for integrating data produced by a sun sensor and an earth sensor. Next, attitude data from the star tracker and earth/sun sensors were integrated using two methods: weighted average and Kalman filter. All algorithms were coded in the MATLAB environment and tested using simulation models of visual sensors. The results of simulations may be used as an indication for the best data fusion in real satellite systems. The algorithms developed may be extended to incorporate other attitude sensors like inertial and/or GNSS to form a complete satellite attitude system.

Opis:
All universities are responsible for assessing the quality of education. One of the required factors is the results of the students’ research. The procedure involves, most often, the preparation of the questionnaire by the staff, which is voluntarily answered by students; then, the university staff uses the statistical methods to analyze data and prepare reports. The proposed EQE method by the application of the fuzzy relations and the optimistic fuzzy aggregation norm may show a closer connection between the students’ answers and the achieved results. Moreover, the objects obtained by the application of the EQE method can be visualized by using the t-SNE technique, cosine between vectors and distances of points in five-dimensional space.
