- Opis:
- The landscape of energy policy in Germany was marked by numerous changes since the war. Especially the political decisions of the past 15 years influenced the changes in the image of German energy policy. This article will present the key political decisions affecting “energy and climate” issues since the government in Germany was taken over by the coalition of SPD and Alliance 90/ The Greens in 1998. Programs focusing on nuclear energy and withdrawal from its production, development of the Renewable Energy Act, furthering diversification of hydrocarbons supply and concentrating attention on climate policy priorities lay at the basis of political decisions in this area. A number of important determinants resulting from international politics and related changes of identity in Germany aft er 1945, which influenced the decisions made, will also be briefly outlined here. The new energy concept of the conservative-liberal government of 2010 as well as its reaction to the nuclear disaster at Fukushima, Japan will be presented against this background.
