- Opis:
- The structural analysis of the results of the 2005 and 2007 parliamentary elections, i.e. the breakdown of votes with regard to the voters’ age, education and place of residence, together with new axiological orientations, allows one to hypothesize that Poland may be undergoing a new sociopolitical division. The so far predominant axis of political differentiation into post-Solidarity vs. post-communist factions, has been gradually being replaced, starting with parliamentary and presidential elections of 2005, with a new axis. With regard to identity (system of values) the division is that into conservatists and liberals, while in the structural sense (age, place of residence, education) the division is into the centre vs. the periphery. An important factor, however, is that of civic critique of the style of exercising power as a criterion modifying electoral attitudes and behaviours. A verification of the hypothesis requires well-constructed research and analyses which can bring not only theoretical but also practical results by providing answers to the ever valid questions: what should one do to win the elections, how should one formulate the electoral message, why do people make electoral choices that they do?
