Each inventory which refers to the actual list of quantity and value of all the assets of the entity, in this case the St. Joseph parish church in Łuniniec in 1938, is the basis for evaluation of the financial status of this parish. It contains all the data on the parish church, its furniture, paraments and liturgical vessels. It describes the parish office, produced documents of this office and all financial inflows for the parish and clergy working in it. The inventory, like the documentation confirming the parish visitation, is very authoritative and rich in information not only on the very parish, but also on the people and the prevailing relations in the parish.

Opis:
The borderland town of Dywin (now in the Republic of Belarus) in the district of Kobryn had a church dedicated to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary which was founded in the second half of the seventeenth century. The parish, having the royal patronage, dates back to 1700. It was included in the Diocese of Lutsk, in 1798 was moved to the Diocese of Vilnius, and after the establishment of the Diocese of Pinsk in 1925, it became the part of this diocese. Since 1945, the town of Dywin has been outside Poland. The visitation of the parish church in Dywin was conducted in 1844 by the Dean of Kobryn - Rev. Antoni Kisielewski.

Opis:
The presented visitation of the church of Kosów conducted at the end of the 18th century gives us the information about the administration, pastoral ministry and the emoluments of the parish church in Kosów located in the Eastern Borderlands in the Old Polish Period. It also reveals signifi cant fi gures of political and social life of the time. Its most valuable part contains data referring to the visited parish dedicated to the Holy Trinity and the Holy Cross in Kosów (Poleski) collected by Rev. Jan Nepomucen Kadłubowski; the information ranges from the smallest details or objects to religious buildings (with their equipment and vestments used for worship), residential buildings and outbuildings. The visitation also shows concern for the moral state, material goods of the parish and the order of the liturgy celebrated in the parish church in Kosów.

Die vorliegende Arbeit über die Bischöfliche Kurie in Luzk (1926-1939) bildet einen Beitrag zur Erforschung der Kanzleien kirchlicher Institutionen in der Zwischenkriegszeit. Die Ergebnisse der Untersuchungen können auch der richtigen Bearbeitung des Teil der Archivalien der Diözese Luzk dienen, die nach dem 2. Weltkrieg auf polnischem Gebiet verblieben sind. Darunter befindet sich auch eine fragmentarische Dokumentation, die von der Bischöflichen Kurie angefertigt wurde - insbesondere von der mit administrativen Aufgaben betrauten Abteilung, d.h. vom Generalvikariat. Diese heute bereits archivierten Akten bilden (zusammen mit den Akten des Bischöflichen Gerichts) ein Archivensemble, in dem die Akten des Generalvikariats eine von zwei Untergruppen bilden ( die zweite bilden die Akten des Bischöflichen Gerichts), während die Akten der einzelnen Sektionen (pro negotiis iurisdictionis voluntariae) in der Struktur dieses Ensembles Serien bilden werden.

The inventory was drawn up due to the fact that the parish in Kosów was taken over by Rev. Benedykt Rumszewicz. The former Polish borderland parish is now located within the borders of Belarus.

The Metropolitan Archbihop of Lviv of the Latin Rite Bolesław Twardowski (1854- 1944) was the founder and the initiator of the construction of the Church of Our Lady of Ostra Brama in the district of Lviv - Górny Łyczaków. The votive church dedicated to the Mother of Mercy was to be a symbol of gratitude for the return of Lviv and Eastern Galicia to their homeland after years of captivity. Started in 1931, the construction of the church was completed and on 7 October 1934, Archbishop Twardowski consecrated it. After that ceremony, at the residence of the archbishop the votive church was given to the Salesians of the Province of St. Jack in Cracow. The Church of Our Lady of Ostra Brama was a rectoral church in the parish of St. Anthony where the Salesians carried out pastoral ministry until 4 June 1946. In 1989, the church was taken over by the Salesians of the Byzantine-Ukrainian Rite where in 1992, the parish of the Protection of Our Most Holy Lady Theotokos (Pokrov) was erected.

After destroying the Roman Catholic Parish Church in Kobryń in 1812, the new parish church was built under the supervision of the parish priest Rev. Antoni Kisielewski and blessed by him in August 1845, then consecrated by the bishop of Vilnius Wacław Żyliński in 1851. The presented inventory of the Parish dedicated to the Assumption of Mary in Kobryń dates back to the interwar years of the Second Polish Republic. The inventory was prepared by the parish priest Józef Kuczyński on 21 August 1933. According to this inventory, the parish of Kobryń (along with the all the inventory) was taken over by Rev. Jan Węckiewicz, a new parish priest, in the presence of Rev. Bronisław Kiełbasa, the delegate of the Curia of Pińsk and the dean of Brest.
Po zniszczeniu w 1812 roku parafialnego kościoła rzymskokatolickiego w Kobryniu, nowy wybudowany został przez parafian pod kierunkiem proboszcza ks. Antoniego Kisielewskiego i przez niego poświęcony w sierpniu 1845 roku, konsekrowany został w 1851 roku przez biskupa wileńskiego Wacława Żylińskiego. Prezentowany inwentarz Parafii Wniebowzięcia N.M. Panny w Kobryniu pochodzi z lat międzywojennych II Rzeczypospolitej. Inwentarz sporządził jego proboszcz ks. Józef Kuczyński dnia 21 sierpnia 1933 roku i według tego inwentarza przejął parafię kobryńską z przynależnym inwentarzem ks. Jan Węckiewicz, nowy proboszcz, w obecności ks. Bronisława Kiełbasy, delegata kurii pińskiej i dziekana brzeskiego.

The manuscript of the general visitation in the parish of Kroszyn of 20 November 1820,  conducted by the canon of Mińsk, the dean of Nowogródek, the parish priest in Iszkołdź - Rev. Walenty Zan, contains all historical data, personal information and statistics on the parish church and its equipment, church ministry, parishioners, church property, the description of the parish priest’s land and census of the parishioners. Valuable information relates to organizing, by the then parish priest Rev. Magnuszewski, the parish school in 1810 in Kroszyn with the exact description of its students, their age and gender. The parish of  Kroszyn also boasted a newly built hospital for the poor. The same text of the general visitation of 1820 was reviewed and signed by the person who conducted the next general visitation in 1825.

W artykule przybliżone zostały mało znane losy księdza Augusta Nahlika (1812- 1878) z czasów, kiedy sprawował on probostwo w parafii pw. św. Katarzyny w Rumnie. Zaangażował się tam bowiem w ruch niepodległościowy, a następnie stał się jedną z czołowych postaci tzw. spisku w Horożannie, którego głównym celem było wywołanie w Galicji Wschodniej lokalnego powstania skierowanego przeciwko zaborcom. Wspólnie z innymi tego typu wystąpieniami na terenie całej Galicji spisek w Horożannie miał stać się ważnym ogniwem w przygotowywanym od lat 40. XIX wieku przez Towarzystwo Demokratyczne Polskie ogólnonarodowym zrywie niepodległościowym. Niestety, w 1846 r. spisek ten został wykryty i krwawo stłumiony przez chłopów, a same zaś zajścia w Horożannie łączone są z rozgrywającymi się w tym samym czasie wydarzeniami określanymi przez historiografię mianem rabacji galicyjskiej. Ks. Nahlik wraz z innymi spiskowcami, którym udało się ujść z życiem przed cepami i kosami chłopów, skazany został na 15 lat pobytu w jednym z najcięższych ówcześnie więzień Cesarstwa Austrii – twierdzy Spielberg. Jednak dzięki ogłoszonej w 1848 r. amnestii odzyskał wolność i po rocznej suspensie skierowany został najpierw na probostwo do parafii pw. św. Wawrzyńca w Chyrowie, a następnie w 1864 r. przeniesiony został na zachodnie krańce diecezji przemyskiej do parafii pw. Niepokalanego Poczęcia NMP i Bożego Ciała w Strzyżowie, która była ostatnią placówką duszpasterską na drodze ks. Nahlika. Zarządzał nią bowiem aż do swojej śmierci w 1878 r. Treść artykułu wzbogaca ponadto edycja ostatniej woli ks. Nahlika z 1878 r., która zachowała się w aktach notarialnych Feliksa Misky’ego, a także fotografia księdza pochodząca ze zbiorów Polskiej Akademii Nauk.
The article presents the life of reverend August Nahlik (1812–1878) during his service as a parish priest of St. Catherine’s parish in Rumno. There, he got involved in the independence movement, and then became one of the leading figures of the so-called conspiracy in Horozhanna, whose main goal was to spark a local uprising against the partitioners in Eastern Galicia. Together with other upheavals of this type throughout the entire Galicia, the conspiracy in Horozhanna was to become an important part of the nationwide independence spur being prepared by the Polish Democratic Society since the 1840s. Unfortunately, in 1846 the conspiracy was discovered and bloodily suppressed by the peasants, and the incidents in Horozhanna are associated with other revolts taking place at the time, described in historiography as the Galician Slaughter. Rev. August Nahlik, along with other conspirators who managed to escape the peasants’ attack, was sentenced to 15 years in one of the toughest prisons of the Austrian Empire - the Spielberg fortress. However, thanks to the amnesty announced in 1848, he regained his freedom and, after a year of suspension, was first appointed a parish priest of St. Lawrence’s parish in Chyrow, and then in 1864 he was transferred to the western part of the Przemysl diocese, to the parish of Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Corpus Christi in Strzyzow. There, he significantly contributed to the revival of the religious life of the parish, as well as to the restoration of the former glory of the temple, devastated in the Josephine times. He managed the parish in Strzyzow until his death in 1878. The content of the article is additionally enriched by the edition of the last will of Rev. August Nahlik from 1878, which has been preserved in Feliks Misky’s notarial deeds, and a previously unpublished photograph of the priest from the collection of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

The history of the South-East Borderlands during the period of the Second Republic of Poland is still full of ‘missing pieces’, which are yet to be discovered. This also refers to research on the relations between nations living in this area before the Second World War. The following publication presents in detail the living conditions of the Germans and the Poles in the Roman Catholic parish in Machliniec near the town of Stryja in the archdiocese of Lviv in 1922, the parish where the former nation was in the majority. The article includes detailed information on their daily life, multifaceted references to the issues connected with the Roman Catholic Church, and above all the liturgy recited in national languages. There is also a good deal of information on the Polish community which had limited rights and liberties in the parish dominated by the Germans. The discussed publication consists mostly of the edition of the source account sent to the Metropolitan Curia in Lviv by the then priest in Machliniec Rev. Władysław Krzystyniak in 1922. The document was analysed and preceded by an editorial preface, which outlines the content of the text. In addition, numerous footnotes were added to it. It is also complemented by a short concept of Curia’s response, addressed to Rev. Krzystyniak, which – despite the fact that it didn’t survive in its entirety – is good proof that the issues raised by the author were noticed, not neglected. The edited document of Rev. Krzystyniak has not been published so far.
Historia Kresów Południowo-Wschodnich w okresie II Rzeczypospolitej wciąż pełna jest „białych plam”, które czekają na odkrycie. Dotyczy to również badań nad relacjami pomiędzy narodami zamieszkującymi te ziemie przed II wojną światową. Niniejsza publikacja szczegółowo przybliża i opisuje warunki życia Niemców i Polaków w rzymskokatolickiej parafii Machliniec koło miasta Stryja w archidiecezji lwowskiej według stanu z 1922 r., w parafii, w której zdecydowaną większość wiernych stanowiła pierwsza nacja. W artykule można zatem znaleźć szczegółowe informacje dotyczące warunków ich życia codziennego, wielopłaszczyznowych odniesień do spraw Kościoła rzymskokatolickiego, a przede wszystkim kwestii liturgii odmawianej w językach narodowych. Sporo miejsca poświęcono zwłaszcza społeczności polskiej, która w zdominowanej przez Niemców parafii posiadała ograniczone prawa i swobody. Omawiana publikacja w zasadniczej części składa się z edycji źródłowej sprawozdania przesłanego w 1922 r. do Kurii Metropolitalnej we Lwowie przez ówczesnego duszpasterza w Machlińcu ks. Władysława Krzystyniaka. Tekst dokumentu opracowano i opatrzono licznymi przypisami, a także poprzedzono wprowadzeniem redakcyjnym, który przybliża go czytelnikom. Całość uzupełnia krótki koncept odpowiedzi Kurii, skierowany do ks. Opis:
In 1928, society of the thriving borderland city of Baranowicze Poleskie launched a commendable initiative, the aim of which was to create another pastoral centre in that city for the local faithful of the Roman Rite. Those initiatives were made with great care for the spiritual good of the local faithful. The Executive Committee of the Church Construction appointed for that purpose in Baranowicze, then renamed the Citizens’ Committee of the Church Construction, did not take account of church law and practice in its structure. With a lay person being in charge, it did not receive approval of the ordinary of the Diocese of Pińsk, and thus efforts to build a church could not be carried out in accordance with expectations. It was not until 1934- when the parish priest and dean of Baranowicze, Rev. Jan Borysiuk, became the president of the Committee, that the relations with the diocesan ecclesiastical authority were normalised-that authority was the one which took decisions regarding the ongoing construction work in the new pastoral centre in Baranowicze. Long-term efforts on the creation of a new parish in that town resulted in erection- on 23 January 1937- the parish dedicated to Our Lady Queen of the Polish Crown and the appointment of its first parish priest Rev.Antoni Kohutnicki.
