Opis:
In the article there was presented the issue of monitoring the fuel consumption of the diesel engines, together with the simultaneous comparison of consuming the energy due to exploitation and non- exploitation needs. Such approach allows one to detect even minimal illegal fuel consumption from electric engines, as well as enables continuous monitoring of the engine work and its power requirements.

Opis:
Monitoring of the status and behavior of drivers is important for ensuring traffic safety. The process using SHP (automatic train braking system) and CA (dead man’s control system) has been used in railway transport since 1960s. Equipment of similar functionalities is at the stage of research and single implementation projects in road traffic. It seems that monitoring of drivers in both rail and road traffic can be implemented using equipment of the same or similar construction, operating within visible and infrared bands, and in the acoustic spectrum. This article includes a presentation of two universal devices developed by the authors. The planned monitoring systems to be used in road and rail traffic can be similar in terms of equipment used. As regards software, collecting information about behavior and status of drivers (based on functionalities of equipment), the two systems differ.

Opis:
The role of TTI is an effective supporting the use of transport network for example, in order to improve the capacity and to shorten travel time, delays, fuel consumption. In the time of increasing traffic congestion on the road network, especially on EU freight corridors and in cities, the RDS-TMC deliver the alternatives and it facilitate traveller information by providing powerful travel planning tools. Establishing a national RDS-TMC system is the goal for Poland not only because approaching EURO 2012 but mainly to join to other European countries and as they enjoy the benefits of TMC service. All actions must be supported by the agreement of all players in the information chain which creating the TMC service: ministerial bodies, civil/public services, public road authorities, public broadcasters, road users and industry. Only clear and transparency system of responsibility for maintenance and overseeing could guarantee the high reliability and correct work of TMC service.

Opis:
This article presents the current problems with measuring distance in goods wagons. The main problem where goods wagons are concerned is their lack of power supply. Owing to this, a distance-measuring system is hard to install. Meanwhile, the measurement of distance travelled and the service processes dependent on this measurement are becoming more and more important. Moreover, the railway accident in Viareggio on June 29, 2009 has resulted in increased interest in determining the accurate mileage of a wagon or, to be exact, of a wheelset. One has to realise, that a goods wagon is actually a combination of numerous elements (such as the body, the underframe, the carriage, the wheelsets, etc.) that can differ in mileage and can be exchanged between different wagons. This makes it necessary to register not only the mileage of the whole wagon, but also, at a minimum, of the carriage. This article is an attempt at outlining the current state of this issue.
