Opis:
This paper presents a study on ferroresonance occurring in a high voltage 400 kV transmission grid due to energization of power transformer under no-load conditions. The system scenarios analyzed in the present paper are considered as critical for development and modernization plans as currently announced by the national grid operator in Poland. The PSCAD simulation model was developed and applied for several study cases of a system with double-circuit arrangement of a transmission line. It is shown that the ferroresonant oscillations can be initiated by two-phase switching operation of a line circuit breaker. The impact of the double-circuit length on the ferroresonance mode and severity is demonstrated with the use of the Poincaré map analysis and Short Time Fourier Transform. It is demonstrated that the length of the transmission line that is mutually coupled in the double-circuit arrangement has a significant impact on the ferroresonance occurrence and on its mode. As the ferroresonance can pose severe threat to the power system components due to the severe overvoltage and overcurrent oscillations, the analysis presented in this paper demonstrates the necessity of the ferroresonance analyses for any re-designed transmission system.

Opis:
As the most typical application of superconducting technology, the Saturated Iron core Superconducting Fault Current Limiter (SISFCL) is a kind of ideal high voltage limiter, which can achieve noticeable limiting endless stream and has wide application prospect. However, the selectivity and sensitivity of the distance protection (DP) in the high voltage transmission network would be affected by the impedance characteristics of SISFCL. For these problems, firstly the structure and the working principle of the SISFCL are introduced briefly. Secondly, the impact mechanisms of 220 kV SISFCL on the original distance protection for the transmission line (TL) are analyzed. Then two methods of eliminating influences are deduced from the previous analysis and an improved setting method based on SISFCL for distance protection is proposed. Finally, we used EMTDC/PSCAD software to build the 220 kV SISFCL and distance protection model in the transmission network. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed setting strategy can effectively improve the selectivity and sensitivity of distance protection and provide a reference for the practical applications of SISFCL applied to the transmission line.

Opis:
Aiming at the problem of DC voltage control deviation and instability caused by a large-scale renewable energy access VSC–MTDC system, this paper combines voltage margin control and droop control. A strategy for controlling collaborative optimization in a sparsely distributed communication network has been proposed. Firstly, the distributed modeling of the system is carried out by combining MAS technology with small signal modeling. Then, a distributed model predictive controller is designed for a single droop control converter station. On this basis, a distributed cooperative optimization control strategy is proposed. According to the DC voltage deviation, the system adopts different control methods to control the receiving converter station. Finally, based on PSCAD/EMTDC and MATLAB co-simulation platforms, a six-terminal flexible HVDC system is built to verify the effectiveness of the control strategy under different conditions such as input power fluctuation, any converter station out of operation and system communication failure.
