Opis:
The paper presents an approximation method for elementary fractional order transfer function containing both pole and zero. This class of transfer functions can be applied for example to build model - based special control algorithms. The proposed method bases on Charef approximation. The problem of cancelation pole by zero with useful conditions was considered, the accuracy discussion with the use of interval approach was done also. Results were depicted by examples.

Given a linear discrete system with initial state x0 and output function yi , we investigate a low dimensional linear system that produces, with a tolerance index ϵ, the same output function when the initial state belongs to a specified set, called ϵ-admissible set, that we characterize by a finite number of inequalities. We also give an algorithm which allows us to determine an ϵ-admissible set.

Opis:
This paper presents equivalent impedance and operator admittance systems for fractional order elements. Presented models of fractional order elements of the type: sαL,sub>α and 1/sαCsub>α, (0 α 1) were obtained using the Laplace transform based on the expansion of the factor sign to an infinite fraction with varying degrees of accuracy – the continued fraction expansion method (CFE). Then circuit synthesis methods were applied. As a result, equivalent circuit diagrams of fractional order elements were obtained. The obtained equivalent schemes consist both of classical RLC elements, as well as active elements built based on operational amplifiers. Numerical experiments were conducted for the constructed models, presenting responses to selected input signals.

Opis:
The fractional order proportional, integral, derivative and acceleration (PIλDµA) controller is an extension of the classical PIDA controller with real rather than integer integration action order λ and differentiation action order µ. Because the orders λ and µ are real numbers, they will provide more flexibility in the feedback control design for a large range of control systems. The Bode’s ideal transfer function is largely adopted function in fractional control systems because of its iso-damping property which is an essential robustness factor. In this paper an analytical design technique of a fractional order PIλDµA controller is presented to achieve a desired closed loop system whose transfer function is the Bode’s ideal function. In this design method, the values of the six parameters of the fractional order PIλDµA controllers are calculated using only the measured step response of the process to be controlled. Some simulation examples for different third order motor models are presented to illustrate the benefits, the effectiveness and the usefulness of the proposed fractional order PIλDµA controller tuning technique. The simulation results of the closed loop system obtained by the fractional order PIλDµA controller are compared to those obtained by the classical PIDA controller with different design methods found in the literature. The simulation results also show a significant improvement in the closed loop system performances and robustness using the proposed fractional order PIλDµA controller design.

Opis:
In this paper, an automatic voltage regulator (AVR) embedded with fractional order PID (FOPID) is employed for the alternator terminal voltage control. A novel meta-heuristic technique, a modified version of grey wolf optimizer (mGWO) is proposed to design and optimize the FOPID AVR system. The parameters of FOPID, namely, proportional gain (ΚP), the integral gain ( ΚI), the derivative gain ( ΚD), λ and μ have been optimally tuned with the proposed mGWO technique using a novel fitness function. The initial values of the ΚP, ΚI , and ΚD of the FOPID controller are obtained using Ziegler-Nichols (ZN) method, whereas the initial values of λ and μ have been chosen as arbitrary values. The proposed algorithm offers more benefits such as easy implementation, fast convergence characteristics, and excellent computational ability for the optimization of functions with more than three variables. Additionally, the hasty tuning of FOPID controller parameters gives a high-quality result, and the proposed controller also improves the robustness of the system during uncertainties in the parameters. The quality of the simulated result of the proposed controller has been validatedby other state-of-the-art techniques in the literature.

Opis:
In the paper, problem of proper tuning of second-order Reduced Active Disturbance Rejection Controller (RADRC2) is considered in application for industrial processes with significant (but not dominant) delay time. For First-Order plus Delay Time (FOPDT) and Second-Order plus Delay Time (SOPDT) processes, tuning rules are derived to provide minimal Integral Absolute Error (IAE) assuming robustness defined by gain and phase margins. Derivation was made using optimization procedure based on D-partition method. The paper also shows results of comprehensive simulation validation based on examplary benchmark processes of more complex dynamics as well as final practical validation. Comparison with PID controller shows that RADRC2 tuned by the proposed rules can be practical alternative for industrial control applications.

This paper introduces a fractional-order PD approach (F-oPD) designed to control a large class of dynamical systems known as fractional-order chaotic systems (F-oCSs). The design process involves formulating an optimization problem to determine the parameters of the developed controller while satisfying the desired performance criteria. The stability of the control loop is initially assessed using the Lyapunov’s direct method and the latest stability assumptions for fractional-order systems. Additionally, an optimization algorithm inspired by the flight skills and foraging behavior of hummingbirds, known as the Artificial Hummingbird Algorithm (AHA), is employed as a tool for optimization. To evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed design approach, the fractional-order energy resources demand-supply (Fo-ERDS) hyperchaotic system is utilized as an illustrative example.

This paper presents an automatic tuning of multivariable Fractional-Order Proportional, Integral and Derivative controller (FO-PID) parameters using Covariance Matrix Adaptation Evolution Strategy (CMAES) algorithm. Decoupled multivariable FO-PI and FO-PID controller structures are considered. Oustaloup integer order approximation is used for the fractional integrals and derivatives. For validation, two Multi-Input Multi- Output (MIMO) distillation columns described byWood and Berry and Ogunnaike and Ray are considered for the design of multivariable FO-PID controller. Optimal FO-PID controller is designed by minimizing Integral Absolute Error (IAE) as objective function. The results of previously reported PI/PID controller are considered for comparison purposes. Simulation results reveal that the performance of FOPI and FO-PID controller is better than integer order PI/PID controller in terms of IAE. Also, CMAES algorithm is suitable for the design of FO-PI / FO-PID controller.

In this research article, we present the concepts of fractional-order dynamical systems and synchronization methodologies of fractional order chaotic dynamical systems using slide mode control techniques. We have analysed the different phase portraits and time-series graphs of fractional order Rabinovich-Fabrikant systems. We have obtained that the lowest dimension of Rabinovich-Fabrikant system is 2.85 through utilization of the fractional calculus and computational simulation. Bifurcation diagrams and Lyapunov exponents of fractional order Rabinovich-Fabrikant system to justify the chaos in the systems. Synchronization of two identical fractional-order chaotic Rabinovich-Fabrikant systems are achieved using sliding mode control methodology.

The elementary properties of the state operator are proven. The solution of state equation is calculated with the use of Laplace transform. Results of experiments show, that the proposed model is more accurate than analogical integer order model in the sense of square cost function.
