    Opis:
    In the article Save from oblivion. Residences in the service of Wrocław city based on example assumption of Palace - Park in Goszcz the author stresses that listed palace-garden sets perceived as historical and whose cultural effect constitute refection of many ages of changes which occurs both in garden art and in views and attitude of man towards nature in the past. Presenting historical, scientific, artistic and natural values and also those which are an integral part of the culture landscape - garden relics of the past bear contribution in output and development of the national culture. The author of the publication discusses raised issues in more detail in the example of the baroque assumption of palace - park in Goszcz. She draws particular attention to the fact that listed park-residence sets should be subject to special protection especially as they become more and more valuable with time and they have greater value for tradition and identity of a nation.

    Zespoły pałacowo-parkowe, ukształtowane na przestrzeni XVIII i XIX wieku, stanowią do dzisiaj charakterystyczny i znaczący element w pejzażu wsi Pomorza Zachodniego. Niestety, dawne założenia folwarczne wraz z towarzyszącymi im dworami i parkami wykazują w wielu przypadkach istotne przekształcenia pierwotnej formy, będące wynikiem niewłaściwego użytkowania, zaniedbania lub też pozostawienia w stanie nieużytku.     Opis:
    The method of the elementary study of resources, and the current state and forms of heritage protection for historic garden layouts, are defined by the guidelines for the compiling of records for horticultural monuments (in accordance with the all-Polish programme of records of historic gardens). This method is generally used and very valuable, as thanks to this there are standard, reviewed documentations of historical garden and landscape compositions nationwide. It needs to be emphasized, however, that a large number of records compiled at the beginning of the programme (in the years 1970-1980) do not meet the requirements specified for such documentations, and, above all, they are out of date. At the same time this record is frequently the only documentation of a historic garden, based on which elementary restorers' decisions are made, and it also often represents the only source of knowledge about such a monument, so is used for all kinds of purposes. The updating of documentation for historic garden compositions is for many reasons a matter of great urgency and in the context of the tools available at the moment, and the increasing number of qualified people, it seem possible for it to be conducted effectively. Current documentation, compiled in accordance with a unified method, would definitely contribute to an improvement in historic landscape management, including the making of the right decisions in terms of restoration and planning. Updates of records would form the basis for defining the real transformations of garden layouts which had occurred since the time of compiling the first recorded documents, and which also represents great value. This would allow the definition of the directions for the evolution of historical compositions and the identification of threats, and, in consequence, to determine the right means of conservation for the diminishing resources of Polish garden design. The subject used as an example in this article to present the method of documenting and analysing spatial transformations is the park and palace complex in Maluszyn, truly magnificent in the past, currently preserved in fragmentary condition and de facto evanescing in the modern settlement structure.

    The purpose of the study is to present the results of analyses conducted as part of the research project “Palace and landscape setting revitalisation of the Biała Lądecka River valley in the section from Żelazna do Radochów (No. 4 T07F 001 27)”. The article presents the plans for restoring the palace and park complex in Ołdrzychowice Kłodzkie. The main aim of the research was to enhance and improve connections between the landscape of the historical parks and revitalisation of the greenery of the Biała Lądecka valley.

    Opis:
    Park in Dłużek, established at a turn of XVIII and XIX century, was inscribed into monuments register in 1977. Unfortunately it is not under a proper care, elements of a spatial composition are being fading away and it is more and more transforming into wood-park. In such a situation, not only trees, but herb plants as well are decorative elements. A definite majority of trees in the park are representatives of a national flora. Thirty three species of threes and bushes were found in total, including only 3 species of gymnosperm. Park in Dłużek should be included into moderately rich ones from the point of view of dendroflora. It is an old premise, so as many as 20 trees (from 4 species) could be covered with a protection as nature monuments. Relief of the ground where the park had been established is diversified. Herb plants have a huge influence on the appearance, not only in woodland part, but on clearings, in streams and ponds as well. A hundred species belonged to 34 families were fund, including some very decorative ones, like snowdrop Galanthus nivalis, wood anemone Anemone nemorosa, wood violet Viola reichenbachiana, Water Forget- -me-not Myosotis palustris, Narrow Leaf Cattail Typha angustifolia, common reed Phragmites australis. There are 4 species under a legal protection in the park, that definitely increases a natural value. The lack of funds for a restoration to an old splendour is a problem of numerous old premises. However, nothing stands on the way to design composition elements increasing decorative values.
