Opis:
Decision support systems (DSS) provide decision-makers with an interactive environment for analyses of information with various models to help solve unstructured and NP-hard problems. The important aspect of DSS is a technical and technological approach to the design and implementation of the above systems. A traditional approach to DSS engineering and implementation requires a great deal of effort for its maintenance. However, the enterprises would like to concentrate on its core competitiveness instead of non-core activities like IT maintenance. As a result of this, IT outsourcing has became a very popular event. Thus there is a growing need for intelligent decision support tools capable of assisting a decision maker in many problems in SMEs (Small and Medium Sized Enterprises). In this paper we present the use of declarative programming (constraint logic programming and relational SQL database) as an environment and framework for such decision support systems in an application service providing (ASP) model.

Opis:
Scheduling problems appear frequently at different levels of decisions. They are usually characterized by many types of constraints, which make them unstructured and difficult to solve (NP-complete). Traditional mathematical programming approaches are deficient because their representation of constraints is artificial (using 0-1 variables). Unlike traditional approaches, constraint logic programming (CLP) provides for a natural representation of heterogeneous constraints. In CLP we state the problem requirements by constraints; we do not need to specify how to meet these requirements. In this paper we propose a declarative framework for decision support system (DSS) for constrained search problems implemented by CLP and relational SQL database. We illustrate this concept by the implementation of a DSS for scheduling problems with external resources in different production organization environments.

Opis:
In this paper we present how scheduling problems can be solved in the concurrent constraint programming (CCP) language Oz. Oz is the first high- level constraint language, which offers programmable search, modularity, expressiveness and an interface to invent new constraints using C++. As an example of scheduling problem the job-shop scheduling problem with manpower resources representation was considered. The objective discussed here is the minimization of the makespan. Allocating manpower to the jobs is more complicated than allocating machines, as different jobs and operations require different manpower. This problem is strongly NP-hard. We proposed the constraint programming (CP) based approach to decision support in this environment. The most important features of CP are declarative problem modeling, allowing a clear separation between the problem statement (variables and constraints) and the resolution of the problem.

Constraint Programming (CP) is an emergent software technology for declarative description and effective solving of large combinatorial problems especially in the area of projects portfolio prototyping. The paper deals with multi-resource and multi-criteria problem in which more than one shared renewable resource type may be required by manufacturing operation and the availability of each type is time-windows limited. The problem belongs to a class of NP-complete ones. The aim of the paper is to present a knowledge based and CP-driven approach to resource allocation conflicts resolution framework. Proposed framework stands behind a methodology aimed at task oriented DSS tolls designing. The Portfolio Project Prototyping System designed due to this methodology provides a prompt and interactive service to a set of routine queries stated both in straight and reverse way. Multiple illustrative examples are discussed.

A calculation model of teaching costs in a university is a system of guidelines, notions and relations to facilitate an assessment of the costs generated by individual university departments, majors, subjects etc. The existing calculation models based on the assessment of costs with the use of precision data prove to be ineffective in practice. The major drawback of these systems is the fact that it is not possible to take into account non-precision data in relation to cost generating factors (e.g. the number of didactic groups, hourly rates etc.). This article presents the author’s own proposal of a cost calculation model based on the formalism of fuzzy logics (with the use of the L-R representation). On the basis of the model proposed, it is possible to assess the costs of an academic subject with imprecise information concerning cost generating factors, or the values of those factors are assessed which imply the values set of the cost of a subject.

The factors, which occur in investment decision-making, often have an imprecise and uncertain form. In this case may be used a fuzzy neural system that supports the choice of alternative project by improvement in the estimates precision for requested resources. The paper contains an example with the using of different approaches in the estimation of time for project critical tasks that commit the substantial enterprise resources.

The paper presents a concept of decision support system dedicated to selection and implementation of enterprise resource planning system for small and medium manufacturing enterprises that makes engineer-to-order production. The support system enables us to improve the selection process of the ERP solution, as well as to evaluate the productivity of the implementation and calculate Total Cost of Ownership. The concept of the support system is based on both a proposed model of the project, driven enterprise and a determined structure of business processes. The model of the enterprise is closely related to the structure of the ERP system. In this paper the most important performance indices of the system are proposed which decide about the implementation success of ERP. Especially, the evaluations of ERP implementation are taken into consideration based on the proposed indices that enable us to determine the productivity of ERP in a company. The illustrative examples are given.

Constraint programming (CP) is an emergent software technology for declarative description and effective solving of large combinatorial problems especially in areas of integrated production planning. In that context, the CP can be considered as a well-suited framework for development of decision making software supporting small and medium size enterprises in the course of Production Process Planning (PPP). The problem considered regards of finding of computationally effective approach aimed at scheduling of a new project subject to constraints imposed by a multi–project environment. In other words, we are looking for an answer whether a given production order specified by its cost and completion time can be accepted in a given manufacturing system specified by available production capability, i.e., the time-constrained resources availability. The problem belongs to a class of multi-mode case project scheduling problems, where the problem of finding a feasible solution is NPcomplete. The aim of the paper is to present the CP modeling framework as well as to illustrate its application to decision making in the case of a new production order evaluation. So, the contribution emphasizes benefits derived from CPbased DSS and focuses on constraint satisfaction driven decision-making rather than on an optimal solution searching.

It means a new generation of DSS that enable a fast prototyping of production flows in multiproject environment as well as an integrated approach to a layout planning, production routing, batch-sizing and scheduling problems is needed. In that context, the constraint logic programming techniques allowing declarative representation of a decision making problem provide a quite attractive alternative. Opis:
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) are nowadays a software packages that can support all business activities of enterprises [1], [8], [10], [11]. The production enterprises often implement an ERP systems to improve important functions in such functional areas as sales, product design and technology, material management, purchasing or production planning. Absolute majority of them implement ERP in administration areas such as human resource, controlling, financial accounting or capital assets. The implementation of ERP is expensive and time-consuming process that often can fall flat. The enterprises that successfully implemented ERP don’t want to change the system long time to unique disturbances. But employers of the enterprise realize only the transactions in ERP that are necessary for property workflows and managers analysis. The lack of important data in the ERP system can result with impossibility of strategic analyses performance [12], [14], [16]. In the situation ERP can not support strategic decisions of managers too. In the paper an ERP evaluation method based on data analysis is proposed. The authors of the article claim that value of ERP system is consist of two important components: possibility for improving of critical business processes and possibility for critical decision support. The model of ERP evaluation system for project driven enterprise is proposed. The illustrative examples are given.

It opens a new generation of DSS that enable a fast prototyping of production flows in multi-project environment as well as an integrated approach to project execution evaluation. In that context our goal is to provide a knowledge base approach allowing one to be independent on a context or representation of particular data as well as allowing designing an interactive and task-oriented decision support system (DSS). The assumed knowledge base mode of specifying a production system leads to solving a logic-algebraic method (LAM) decision problem. The approach proposed complements the decision system with an additional module (evaluation module) and facilitates searching for possible solutions meeting company production programme execution evaluation criteria. Classification plays a critical role in machine learning (ML) systems for processing images, text and high -dimensional data. Predicting class labels from training data is the primary goal of classification. An optimal model for a particular classification problem is chosen based on the model's performance and execution time. This paper compares and analyzes the performance of basic as well as ensemble classifiers utilizing 10-fold cross validation and also discusses their essential concepts, advantages, and disadvantages. In this study five basic classifiers namely Naïve Bayes (NB), Multi-layer Perceptron (MLP), Support Vector Machine (SVM), Decision Tree (DT), and Random Forest (RF) and the ensemble of all the five classifiers along with few more combinations are compared with five University of California Irvine (UCI) ML Repository datasets and a Diabetes Health Indicators dataset from Kaggle repository. To analyze and compare the performance of classifiers, evaluation metrics like Accuracy, Recall, Precision, Area Under Curve (AUC) and F-Score are used. Experimental results showed that SVM performs best on two out of the six datasets (Diabetes Health Indicators and waveform), RF performs best for Arrhythmia, Sonar, Tic-tac-toe datasets, and the best ensemble combination is found to be DT+SVM+RF on Ionosphere dataset having respective accuracies 72.58%, 90.38%, 81.63%, 73.59%, 94.78% and 94.01%. The proposed ensemble combinations outperformed the conven¬tional models for few datasets.
