    State policy regarding the use of civilians for the defence of the country, promotion of military service and bringing them into the territorial defence battalions deserve special attention, given the difficult political and economic situation in the country after the Revolution Benefits. Thus, the experience of Ukraine regarding the formation of the system of territorial defence, and other mechanisms to combat the enemy in a hybrid war can serve as an example for other countries and alliances, in order to avoid similar mistakes and use them in the future for their own defence.

    In the text the author focuses on the economic aspects of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict that erupted in 2014. Undoubtedly, the economic war is a crucial dimension of hybrid war in Ukraine that definitely should not be neglected. The author clearly differentiated six principal constituents of the Russian-Ukrainian economic war which were subsequently discussed in the text. Notably, even during periods of unreliable and frail cease-fires economic war were still was continued. Economic war appears to become a permanent and fixed element of bilateral Russian-Ukrainian relations at least in the short to medium term.

    W uwagach wstępnych autorzy pokrótce naszkicowali tło obecnych przemian społeczno-ustrojowych na Ukrainie. Następnie skupili uwagę na prawnopolitycznych zasadach formowania polityki zagranicznej Ukrainy od czasu zdobycia przez nią niepodległości, analizując przede wszystkim uchwałę Najwyższej Rady Ukrainy „O głównych kierunkach polityki zagranicznej Ukrainy”. Z kolei przestudiowali prawno-polityczne podłoże ukraińsko-polskich stosunków międzypaństwowych, wskazując na doniosłą rolę Traktatu między Rzecząpospolitą Polską a Ukrainą o dobrym sąsiedztwie, przyjaznych stosunkach i współpracy. Naświetlono również działalność ukraińsko-polskich instytucji międzypaństwowych, powołanych dla spełnienia powstałych zadań. W artykule podkreślone zostało poparcie przez Polskę dążeń eurointegracyjnych Ukrainy. Kluczowym momentem z tego punktu widzenia jest kwestia podpisania umowy stowarzyszeniowej UE z Ukrainą. W ostatniej części referatu autorzy wskazują, iż agresja Rosji skierowana przeciwko Ukrainie spowodowała rewizję umów międzynarodowych i była początkiem gruntownych zmian w świadomości Ukraińców.
    In the introductory remarks the authors drafted a background of present-day social and constitutional shifts in Ukraine. Then they focused their attention on legal and political principles of formulation of Ukraine's foreign policy since gaining independence, analysing, first and foremost, the resolution enacted by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine entitled "On the main directions of Ukraine’s foreign policy". They also studied legal and political ground of UkrainianPolish bilateral relations, pointing to a weighty role of the Treaty on Good Neighbourhood, Friendly Relations and Cooperation between the Republic of Poland and Ukraine. As well, they elucidated the activity of the UkrainianPolish bilateral institutions established for realization of the resultant tasks. The support of Ukraine's aspirations for deeper integration with Europe by Poland were accentuated in the article. An issue of the signing of the UkraineEuropean Union Association Agreement is crucial from this viewpoint. In the last part of the paper the authors indicate that Russia’s aggression against Ukraine resulted in a revision of international accords and initiated a thorough changes in Ukrainians’ identity .

    Na początku zostanie przedstawiona geneza kryzysu i wojny propagandowej związanej z Krymem i konfliktem w Donbasie, który w najnowszej historii Ukrainy ma powiązanie z Pomarańczową Rewolucją z 2004 roku, kiedy to rosyjskie media atakowały opozycję i wspierały prorosyjskiego kandydata na urząd Prezydenta – Wiktora Janukowycza, który najwyższe poparcie miał właśnie w Donbasie i na Krymie. Następnie zostanie przedstawiony w skrócie Euromajdan, kryzys krymski i konflikt w Donbasie, który spowodował eskalację wojny medialnej. Kolejno zostaną przedstawione przykłady propagandy strony ukraińskiej (np. zakaz emisji rosyjskich filmów, seriali i zastępowanie ich polskimi produkcjami, czy też zakazem wjazdu dla rosyjskich artystów) i rosyjskiej (np. dyskredytacja Ukrainy w rosyjskich mass mediach), które niejednokrotnie są absurdalne i mają podłoże polityczne, przez co dzielą oba bliskie sobie narody mimo toczącej się wojny na froncie i w mediach. Na końcu nastąpi podsumowanie wojny propagandowej pomiędzy Republiką Ukrainy a Federacją Rosyjską od 2013 roku (od Euromajdanu, poprzez kryzys krymski, referenda, wybory na terenie Donieckiej Republiki Ludowej (DRL) i Ługańskiej Republiki Ludowej (ŁRL), a także konflikt zbrojny we wschodniej Ukrainie).
    At the beginning there will be presented the genesis of the crisis and the propaganda war related to the conflict in the Crimea and Donbas, which in the modern history of Ukraine has link to the Orange Revolution in 2004, when the Russian media has attacked the opposition and supported the pro-Russian candidate for President – Viktor Yanukovych, who had the highest support in the Donbas and Crimea. Then it will be shortly presented Euromaidan, Crimean crisis and conflict in the Donbass, which caused an escalation of the media war. Then we will present the propaganda of the Ukrainian side (f.e. non- issuance of Russian films, series and replace them Polish productions or entry ban for Russian artists) and Russian (f.e. to discredit Ukraine in the Russian mass media), which often are absurd and have substrate political thus dividing the two nations close to each other despite the ongoing war at the front and in the media. At the end it will be a summary of the propaganda war between the Republic of Ukraine and the Russian Federation from 2013 (from Euromaidan by the crisis Crimean, referendums, elections in the Donetsk People’s Republic and Luhansk People’s Republic, as well as the armed conflict in eastern Ukraine).

Aneksja Krymu oraz agresja rosyjska zmusiły Ukrainę do zmiany nie tylko dokumentów konstytuujących w obszarze bezpieczeństwa państwowego, ale również sposobu myślenia o własnym bezpieczeństwie. Niniejszy artykuł zawiera podstawową charakterystykę nowoprzyjętych założeń doktrynalnych. W tekście omówione zostały kluczowe zapisy Strategii Bezpieczeństwa Narodowego Ukrainy oraz Doktryny Wojennej Ukrainy.
    At the turn of 2014/2015 Ukraine has introduced fundamental changes in the security sphere, on a doctrinal level. The annexation of the Crimea and the Russian aggression in Ukraine forced Ukraine to change not only the documents describing the security system but also a way of thinking about own security. This article contains basic characteristics of the new doctrinal assumptions. The text discusses the key provisions of Ukraine's National Security Strategy and Military Doctrine of Ukraine.

    Question of the future of Ukraine is globally important and requires answer before it is closed in order to be ready for final result. Ukrainian crisis has an internal and external dimension. First part of the article analyzes the consequences of Euromaidan. Two years is a period of time, which makes possible some preliminary conclusions about the development of Ukraine. It can be said that political and economic system of the country is deteriorating. At the same time disappointment of the people about the course of the state is growing. Therefore theory of expectations and reality discrepancy can be applied to predict the future of the today’s political regime in Kiev. The conclusion is that next social explosion (revolution) in Ukraine is highly possible in a short term, because unacceptable gap between expectations of Ukrainians and reality they live in has almost reached critical margin. Still situation in the country is strongly dependent on the position of two big external actors – the West (the United States and the European Union) and Russia. On the one hand, they stabilize the conflict – the West helps the government of Petro Poroshenko to survive politically and economically and manages social protest potential in the state; Russia supports separatists of Donbass, but holds them from further military aggression, accentuating implementation of Minsk deal. On the other hand, Ukraine definitely is a hostage of “great geopolitical game“ between Washington, Brussels and Moscow and is not a subject, but object in it. Strategic perspective of the Ukrainian crisis will depend on Russia‘s ability to survive economically and make the West believe it is better to retreat in Ukraine, on the American so called “hawks“ perception of this ability and on the damage they and the EU are ready to suffer from the Russian side. Supposed additional value of the article is that it tries to conceptualize (also theoretically) the current national and foreign situation of Ukraine and propose prognostic framework (the main variables) to predict its future.

Głównym problemem badawczym tego artykułu jest poszukiwanie odpowiedzi na pytanie: w jaki sposób Federacja Rosyjska jest zaangażowana w konflikt zbrojny w Donbasie? Celem niniejszego artykułu jest próba wyjaśnienia konfliktu na wschodzie Ukrainy w oparciu o teorię wojny zastępczej, oraz ukazanie praktycznego zastosowania tej strategii przez Federację Rosyjską.
    For some, armed conflict in eastern Ukraine is considering as a civil war where government fights against separatists. For others, it is an inter-state war between Ukraine and Russia. The main question of this research is how Russia is involved in armed conflict in Donbass? The aim of this paper is attempt to explain situation in eastern Ukraine base on proxy war theory and to present practical adoption of this strategy by Russia.

    The Ukrainian-Russian conflict is being characterized as a logical end of the revenge geostrategy, which has been working out for a long period of time by representatives of power in Kremlin. It is emphasized that Russian aggression against Ukraine has demonstrated neglect towards the international right and has put in danger the world’s safety. The structure, the content, peculiarities and consequences of Russian-Ukrainian “hybrid war” are being ascertaining.

    Creation of the Territorial Defense System (TDS) in Poland is a very serious step in military, political and economic terms. Therefore, it is important to understand if this decision is an effective response to Russian threat or a politically motivated populist mistake. Article explains, why military conflict between NATO and Russia is not realistic. At the same time, some interest groups in American elite (mainly, the so called “hawks”) are interested in construction of the “geopolitical wall” between Russia and the EU, creating artificial “Russian threat” for Europe and twisting spiral of confrontation between two sides with the help of Baltic states and Poland (concept of “Intermarium”). Contemporary Polish ruling elite follows this strategy, because sees America as a main guarantor of Poland’s security and wants to be its main ally in Europe. Also exploits “Russian threat” to strengthen its popularity internally. Creation of TDS – one of the populist steps in this direction. But it can be paradoxically useful in case of possible disintegration of Ukraine.
