Opis:
The studies were carried out during the period April 1982 - July 1984. The statistical analysis of the dependence between the temperature and the intensity of occurrence of 4 species of the genus Dactylogyrus in bream (Abramis brama L.) was made in two variants (tab. 1, 2). In both cascs correlation coefficients between the variables, as well as regression coefficients, estimating the linear dependence according to the equation: y = a±bx (cf. fig. 1a-d). The correlation coefficient was verified using the t Student test. The statistical analysis has not revealed any statistically significant dependence between mean month temperatures during the whole investigation period, and the intensity of occurrence of particular of the genus Dactylogyrus species. However, a highly significant (+ +) and significant (+) correlation has been found between the temperature differences in consecutive months of investigations, and the intensity of occurrence of particular species. This confirms the previous suggestion that the studied species of the genus Dactylogyrus react to the temperature changes in the environment. In agreement with calculated coefficients, the higher the temperature difference within a short period, the greater the changes of the density in the population. The density of all the species was the highest in March when the temperature increased by ca. 4°C within a month, and the lowest in October or November at the temperature decrease by ca. 4.5°C. It can be assumed that a rapid temperature increase enhances the reproductive activity of the parasites and their expansion to the hosts, white a rapid decrease inhibits their reproduction and possibly increases also the mortality of adult individuals.

Opis:
First therapeutic trials with Bithionol in animals affected by Fasciola hepatica are discussed in the light of literature data. The drug was used in a patient who had been infected with F. hepatica 4 years ago; one therapeutic course was followed by a complete suppression of the parasite. Within 12-month follow-up, feces and duodenal content were examined for the presence of F. hepatica eggs.

Opis:
The relapses in the treatment of lambliosis with atebrin are mostly caused by the parasite cysts remaining in the organism. In this case, 4, 7 phenanthrolino – 5-6 quinone (Entobex - CIBA) is effective. Taking this into consideration the authors applied both these drugs to 24 children (6 to 13 years of age) infected with Lamblia intestinalis. Because of Little's disease these children stayed at the medical establishment „Górka" in Busko-Zdrój on rehabilitation. To all these children atebrin was administered once a day, during 2 days. Subsequently the patients received three 7-days treatments with Entobex. with weekly intervals between the treatments. Entobex was administered according to the age of the child, i. e. 100 to 300 g daily. The children stood the treatment generally quite well 1) After 45 days from the beginning of the Entobex treatment no Lamblia cysts were found in the faeces of 22 patients - 91,6% (out of 24 patients treated). 2) Out of 22 children cured, 10 were examined additionally after 99-126 days after the Entobex treatment, and 1 child on the 72 day. The faeces of all these children did not contain Lamblia cysts. 3) The results obtained evidence of a favourable remedial effect of the joined treatment with atebrin and Entobex, on Lamblia in children. 4) Considering these encouraging results these investigations should be controlled on larger material.

Five patients infected with Taenia saginata were treated successfully with Bithionol (Actamer). In all of them a 1-day therapeutic course resulted in the parasite exmission within 24-hour period. In 3 patients, a 1-day course was sufficient to bring about a complete cure; in one case two courses were necessary, and one patient refused to come for follow-up examination or eventual repetition of the treatment. The drug tolerance was good.
