    Opis:
    The article presents borrowings adopted from Romance languages wich can be found in educational aids for teaching Polish as a foreing language. The text focuses on the percentage share of borrowings in dictionnaries and beginners’ course books. It also concentrates on lists of words and topics in which those borrowings occur. The author emphasises the fact that in course books for teaching and learning Polish as a foreign language there are actually only proper loanwords while non assimilated and calques are missing. Besides neither metaphors nor foreign prefixes are not represented.

    Opis:
    The purpose of this article is to present and discuss several dialect plant names from the „plant word” thematic field in the speech of the Poles of Lviv region. These are lexical units having no equivalents in other regions of the country or having them in an incomplete range of meaning. The lexis of the dialect in the studied Polish language is also subjected to various foreign influeces, which also must be taken into account when reconstructing the processes that shape the given form in Polish dialects. The generational breakdown shows that dialect plant names in their local meaning will cause significant difficulties for dialect users over time.

    Opis:
    The aim of this article is to describe the generational characteristics of flour products in the speech of Poles of the former South‑Eastern borderlands on the example of several villages from the Lviv region. My analyses focus on the dynamics of changes in the functioning of food names. The presented material and its preliminary analyses allow to unambiguously assign many names of dishes to specific generational groups of people studied. Comparison of the discussed names of dishes with the content of SGP showed that many of them are common with Polish dialect in the Poland. Confrontation with the Dictionary of the Ukrainian language and Ukrainian dialectological works from the studied area showed that many words coexist in Ukrainian, for example: buchanka, paska, pampuch, bublik, kałacz, korowaj, zawiwańce, pierożek, blin, palanycia.

    In Belarusian, different types of German loans are found. However, most of them did not come directly from German, but were passed on to Belarusian by other languages such as Polish, or later in history, Russian. In many cases, the path is unclear, especially with German loans found in all three Slavic languages mentioned. Apart from this, some of the (alleged) Germanisms are already loans in German itself, and hence could have taken different ways into Belarusian. This paper criticises older studies which comment on quantitative aspects of German loans in Belarusian, neglecting the “etymological” heterogeneity of the elements. Instead, an (approximate) quantitative analysis of German loans in Belarusian is offered, concentrating on those elements with Germanic etymology most probably mediated by Polish, the undoubtedly largest subset of Germanisms in Belarusian.

    The article describes the mechanisms of taking over German words to the conspiracy dialect on the phonetic-flexible and word-forming level. German language borrowings account for a significant percentage of the vocabulary in the conspiracy. Different historical and geographical conditions of the area contributed to this. The mass settlement of Germans in the cities caused the German loans to become more and more numerous and took root unnoticed in the language. The Germanisms presented here show a different degree of dependence on their originals, usually making it difficult, and sometimes impossible, to indicate their sources, which was related to the fact that quite often the source of Polish borrowings were German bustling, environ mental or colloquial expressions.
