    Opis:
    The Municipal Park is located in the centre of Sanok, on the slope of the Park Mount (height 364 m asl), which is an essential dominant in the town’s panorama. The park was established in 1909 on a “beautifully located, but completely inaccessible and entirely mountainous ground” and donated by Dr. Aleksander Tchorznicki. Nowadays it is one of the most attractive places in the town; it is said to be one of the most beautiful parks in Poland and it is the biggest mountain park in the country. Moreover, the object is quite valuable not only because of its nature values, but also as an important cultural element of the municipal policy of those days. The park style is an example of a so-called landscape park, in which nature-orientated shapes predominate and the composition of the park interiors allows the visitors to admire spectacular sights. There are also many characteristic places from the 19th and 20th centuries, like alleys, monuments, and the water cascade which is called Chopin’s Spring. After the Second World War, the park was renovated from the destructions of war. New trees and bushes were planted, and walking paths, benches and lighting were built. The park is located in an area which is high above the building area and this makes the park unique in Europe. The park has mainly recreational functions, but it is also a breeding ground of many interesting protected species of flowers, birds and invertebrates.

    Opis:
    The aim of the publication is to present a sense of security for the residents of Krakow, taking into account the sense of security in selected city parks. An additional attempt was made to determine the conditions for the safety of the subjects being examined. The results are based on qualitative research conducted among park users (N = 36) using in-depth interviews. (IDI) Interviews were conducted with respondents of all ages and genders. The research showed a very high level of security by the residents of Krakow in the city parks. The interviews confirmed that security is not the most important problem for the residents of Krakow. A certain type of paradox is observed, which involves reducing the sense of security in the neighborhoods inhabited by the respondents, in relation to the general sense of security which is in contradiction with the subject’s literature. In addition, it has been shown that an important factor affecting the reduction of the sense of security in Krakow is the presence of football club hooligans in the urban space. The interviews are a confirmation of police statistics regarding the increase in the sense of security among Polish citizens over the past years.
    Celem publikacji jest przedstawienie poczucia bezpieczeństwa mieszkańców Krakowa, z uwzględnieniem poczucia bezpieczeństwa na terenie wybranych parków miejskich. Dodatkowo dokonano próby określenia uwarunkowań poczucia bezpieczeństwa badanych osób. Wyniki oparte są na badaniach jakościowych przeprowadzonych wśród użytkowników parków (N = 36) za pomocą wywiadów pogłębionych (IDI). Wywiady przeprowadzono z respondentami o różnych wieku i płci. Badania wykazały bardzo wysoki poziom poczucia bezpieczeństwa na terenie parków miejskich u mieszkańców Krakowa. Rozmowy potwierdziły, że bezpieczeństwo nie jest najistotniejszym problemem krakowian. Zauważono pewnego rodzaju paradoks polegający na zmniejszeniu poczucia bezpieczeństwa w dzielnicach zamieszkanych przez respondentów w stosunku do ogólnego poczucia bezpieczeństwa, co stoi w sprzeczności z literaturą podmiotu. Ponadto wykazano, że istotnym czynnikiem wpływającym na obniżenie poczucia bezpieczeństwa w Krakowie jest obecność pseudokibiców związanych z klubami piłkarskimi. Przeprowadzone wywiady są potwierdzeniem policyjnych analiz wykazujących wzrost poczucia bezpieczeństwa wśród obywateli Polski na przestrzeni ostatnich lat.
