Opis:
The article analyzes the contents of the review „Misyjne Drogi”, published by the Polish MIssionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate, with special focus on the theme of Oblate Brothers and their participation in missionary works of the Congregation. The changing image of the ministry of brothers is described according to three periods: 1983-1994, 1995-2011, 2012-2015. The articles published during the first period spoke mostly about brothers performing auxiliary tasks of farmer, construction worker, nurse etc. As the years passed, the authors have focused more on the direct participation of Oblate brothers in the ministry of evangelisation, on equal terms with Oblate priests.

Africa is currently undergoing rapid globalisation in many areas. This growth is particularly strong through mobile internet connectivity, which is having a considerable impact on economic growth. There were six African countries among the world’s top ten fastest growing economies between 2001 and 2010 – Angola, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Chad, Mozambique and Rwanda (Economist). This article examines the current concerns related to globalisation in Africa. It then moves on to identify specific areas and issues for mission and ministry linked to the phenomenon of globalisation in Africa and elsewhere. It proposes solutions for effective strategies for mission and ministry in this context.

The understanding of leadership and or experience of leaders have permanently changed, and the key questions for today’s no longer issues of task and structure but are questions of spirit. The models of leadership are connecting with mission hence the roots ministry are not in the acquisition of skills, but in a changed attitude toward others, a conversion, and a new way of looking at the world. In this perspective is presented a theology of leadership: tree theological paradigm shifts, Trinitarian Mission and baptismal discipleship.

Opis:
The turning point of Icelandic history was the reception of Christianity. After the discovery of the island, and then its settlement and the organization of an independent state, this was another step in the unification of the Icelandic nation. The circumstances of Iceland's acceptance of Christianity are peculiar in comparison with other countries in Europe at that time. While the decision to accept a new religion was usually made by the ruler, in Iceland the introduction of Christianity took place by the decision of the pagan parliament. Opposition to each other, the pagan and Christian factions, through reasonable negotiations, agreed in a bloodless manner on political agreement in this matter. The national assembly – Althingi – made a resolution in the summer of 1000 establishing a Christianity valid for the whole country religion. It is worth noting that pagan priest and clan leader Thorgeir Thorlaksson, played a crucial role here. Iceland was thus a country that was an exception to the European countries, which accepted a new faith through the conscious and voluntary decision of its inhabitants.

The proposed text attempts to focus on the goals of the missionary activity of this quasi-Christian new religious movement, to explain the processes by which the Mormons formed their view of conversion and how to achieve them in daily life during missionary work at the early stages of the history of the denomination. An analysis of the idea of mission in the teaching and practice of the Church of Joseph Smith allows us to gain an understanding of the general theological and anthropological principles of modern Mormonism.

Opis:
The Polish missionary media of social communication has been appearing since 1882. In the analyzed period, they performed their role very well in the period of the covid-19 pandemic. They quickly reacted to a crisis situation, informing about it fairly and widely, and in some titles it translated into inviting readers to spiritual and material commitment to specific needs. A special tool in this is the media communicating via the Internet, especially social media, which allow for immediate information and reactions to a short- or long-term crisis situation. The study shows that the publishing functions performed by this press include: informational and journalistic, promoting the mission and the missionary idea, catechetical and formation, new evangelization and evangelization, fundraising for the mission, awakening missionary vocations, organizing mission groups, opinion-forming and attitude-forming. It seems that in the main assumptions, the implementation of these functions at the level of ideas has not changed, and the differences result primarily from changes in the communication technique and the diversity of target groups. Before starting the research, the following hypotheses and research theses were formulated, which we then tried to verify (hypotheses) or confirm (theses) in the course of the research. Thesis 1: during the covid-19 pandemic, leading mission journals performed the press functions for which they were created – has been confirmed. Hypothesis 1: the press functions performed by the press media and the media communicating via the Internet differed – it was verified negatively. However, it is noticeable that individual media are used based on their technical capabilities (quick information and immediate help was possible through the media communicating via the Internet) and target groups (Internet users are younger and the content was usually prepared with them in mind). Hypothesis 2: the main functions performed were: information, organization and fundraising – in the field of assistance to the publisher’s legal entity – has been positively verified.

Adam was presented below, and then the pagans as representatives of the peoples and nations to whom the apostles are sent. Later in this place is presented Old King as a personifi cation of the Cosmos, that is here a personifi cation of all creatures. The apostles, as the fi rst missionaries, will proclaim the Gospel to this Cosmos.

The Poznań Foundation of Humanitarian Relief “Redemptoris Missio” originated twenty-five years ago. Its mission is to provide professional medical assistance to missionaries and mission centers. It is the first foundation which involved lay people in the missionary activity of the Catholic Church. It was also founded mostly by lay people and is still managed by them. Many lay volunteers are also engaged in its work. In this study the author describes the  genesis of the Foundation and its goals in the context of the pastoral paradigm. The analytical-critical method of its functioning was analyzed, as well as analysis of the source documents of the foundation. On the basis of the foundation's activities an institutional model of secular involvement in the Church’s missionary activity is presented, which can be replicated in other pastoral centers.

The Missionary Procuration of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate (1969-2022) is a national institution supporting Oblate, but not only, missionary activity ad gentes. Its structure also includes: Public Association of the Faithful “Friends of the Oblate Missions” (since 1969), Association Oblacka Pomoc Misjom “Lumen Caritatis” (since 2009), the Missionary Roads magazine and website (since 2014), and the Mazenodianum Institute Foundation (since 2021). These institutions, apart from the association of “Friends of the Oblate Missions”, previously operated separately. From the very beginning, the Missionary Procuration has been associated with the basic areas of its activity: providing spiritual and material assistance to missionaries and the works they carry out; supporting the awakening of missionary vocations; propagating the missionary idea both among the clergy and lay people, also through: the activities of the Friends of the Mission, the activities of the “Lumen Caritatis” association, the publishing of the “Missionary Roads” magazine, the www.misacyjne.pl website, books and ephemeral publications, presence in other social media, parish animations and mission retreats, conducting social campaigns, other evangelistic, cultural and scientific events related to the promotion of Oblate missions. The conducted research shows, among others, that: this activity in many of its aspects may be paradigmatic for other national mission institutions (eg WYD or the missionary secretariat of the Divine Word Missionaries work in a similar way). The realities of missionary activity and research have also shown that the centralization of missionary activities in one institutional entity within the religious or diocesan jurisdiction is a better solution than their atomization. The purpose of missionary institutions is not only spiritual and material help for the mission, but also a much wider multifaceted activity; in the activities of ecclesial missionary institutions, both proven and modern missionary tools should be used, and in-depth mission formation, as well as the creation of communities, groups of people engaged in mission is a condition of permanent missionary assistance.

This case-study is a study of the three stages of “The Collapse of the SVD Togo Mission (1914-1921)”: the Anglo-French Occupation (1914-1917); the Expulsion and Internment of the SVD Missionaries (1917-1918) and the Definitive Loss of the SVD Togo Mission (1918-1921). The investigation, based on archival sources of the SVD Generalate Archives in Rome (AG SVD) traced the unfolding of events within the international efforts to save the mission in the thriving Protectorate of Togo. The collapse of the SVD Togo Mission driven by rampant nationalism was brought about by the expulsion of its 53 missionaries in seven groups within three months. Even if the expelled German missionaries were pervaded by a deep spirit of patriotism, they were first and foremost religiously motivated men. In the end, they wound up as victims of the political entanglements. The Treaty of Versailles deprived the missions of significant apostolic forces. More than 1,000 German missionaries, including 130 Divine Word Missionaries, were thus excluded from mission territories as victims of political calculations. The SVD missionaries were released from internment within the year due to the urgent actions of their Superior General, Fr. Nikolaus Blum. They accepted the course of events in a truly apostolic spirit and received new assignments, mainly to the Dutch East Indies (Indonesia).

Opis:
The present study attempts to describe one of the most interesting phenomena in the history of missions: the birth and development of the Missionary Societies, which arose between the end of the 18th and the beginning of the 19th century. The beginning was linked to the humble story of a simple shoemaker, turned Baptist pastor and a missionary in India but it soon developed within all main Churches of the Reformation. Characteristic of the phenomenon was the spontaneity of giving life to societies aiming at preaching the Gospel overseas. It was a novelty in the Reformation world as the missionary venture had found a difficult ground to develop in the first two centuries after Luther and Calvin. These societies were capable in reasonably short time to develop their own pastoral guide-lines and policy and their members in the overseas missions committed themselves to social issues and educational projects as part of the evangelising project. The article examines these elements and other aspects trying to highlight also unavoidable limitation encountered in the process.

Altogether 265 monks lived in the monastery, many of them from Poland. They started to open new missionary posts, sometimes even up to 200 km away from Marianhill. In 1909 Pope Pius the 10th created a new missionary congregation – Marianhill Missionaries. Their work is still practically unknown.
