Opis:
The represented paper is aimed at stress calculation in circuit cards with their representation as a type of mechanical oscillatory systems in purpose of their strength assessment especially in resonance conditions. Three types of oscillatory systems are researched: single-mass; multiple mass and oscillatory system with uniformly distributed mass. In all types the cylindrical bending of circuit cards is considered to be a set of beam-strips with rectangular cross-sections so their stress calculation is performed by conventional methods applied in strength of materials and civil engineering. Mathematical model has been developed for maximal dynamic stress and deflection estimation in circuit card assemblies represented by unique oscillatory system as prismatic beam set on two oscillating supports under inertial resonance excitation generated by constant dynamic force. Comparative analysis of mathematical modeling, MatLab simulation and experimental determination of maximal dynamic stress and deflection accomplished for three types of oscillatory systems verified proximity of obtained results. Single-mass oscillatory system is proposed as equivalent to multiple mass or uniformly distributed oscillatory systems on condition of their equal mass, geometric, elastic and dissipation characteristics in resonance frequency correspondent to the main mode of oscillation, so mathematical model designed for single-mass oscillatory system is recommended for strength and stiffness assessment in engineering calculations where possible difference in determination of stress in equivalent systems can used as safety factor.

Opis:
In this study, a porthole die extrusion simulation was carried out for a box profile by using HyperXtrude Inspire Extrude Metal 2019 which is a FEM based software. Aluminum AA6063 material was the billet material, tempera¬ture of the billet was 450 °C and ram speed was selected as 5 mm/sec. The die design was obtained according to the shape of the bridges of the porthole die. Finally, the design optimization was achieved by analyzing FEM results. It was obtained that the dies which have curved bridges offer optimum process conditions.

Opis:
Weigh-in-Motion (WIM) systems are designed for weighing vehicles driving across a measurement site. Because during measurements the vehicle has to come in physical contact with the components of the system, WIM systems always use built-in sensors installed in road pavement. Each WIM system consists of force sensors placed in one, two or even several lines, perpendicular to the direction of traffic. The idea behind WIM systems is to measure the dynamic loads that the wheels of a moving vehicle exert on the road surface and, on this basis, to estimate static wheel loads as well as gross vehicle weight.

Opis:
The strength of concrete elements can be greatly affected by elevated temperature as in fires, and so a great concern must be taken regarding its behavior under such condition. In this paper, a finite element model was built up using ABAQUS software to investigate the flexural behavior of reinforced concrete (RC) beams subjected to service load under elevated temperature. The beam was simply supported and was loaded at one-third and two-third of span length. The study consisted of three RC beams models; the first model simulated a control beam specimen at ambient temperature 20 °C, while the other two models demonstrated damaged beams specimens according to two high temperatures 400 °C and 800 °C, respectively. Each RC beam had 2 m span length, 300 mm height and 200 mm width. The steel reinforcement configuration was 3ϕ16 mm (Grade 60) main bars at the positive moment region in the beam bottom, 2ϕ14 mm (Grade 60) secondary bars at the beam top, and ϕ10 mm /150 mm closed stirrups. The model was validated by comparing its results with the theoretical results from ACI code and literature. Several mechanical properties were investigated including concrete compressive strength, modulus of elasticity, and reinforcing steel yielding strength. The test results showed a reduction in the flexural capacity of the RC beams, tested at 400 °C and 800 °C, of 17.6% and 88.2%, respectively, with respect to the control beam. The maximum service load carried by the beam, at one-third and two-third of the span length, decreased by 17.1% and 88.1% for the 400 ℃ and 800 ℃ high temperature, respectively. The results also showed an increase in deflection when the temperature increased due to the loss in stiffness.
