Opis:
This paper describes the methodology by which it is possible to compare different tensile forces that are caused by the uneven distribution of loads in carrier ropes of lifts. In order to compare the applied tensile forces in a certain number of carrier ropes, it is possible to use the device called “rope hydraulic tension compensator”, when, for example, building new elevators, changing carrier ropes during renovations or servicing existing lifts. The comparison of tensile forces in lift carrier ropes by the described device is based on the method of liquid pressure diffusion in a closed vessel. The rope hydraulic tension compensator consists of a number of structural parts, the main of which are double-acting hydraulic cylinders. The number of these cylinders is equal to the number of carrier ropes of the given lift. The pressure of the hydraulic fluid, which is supplied to the inner shell of individual hydraulic cylinders, controls the length of extension of individual piston rods of the hydraulic cylinders. The position of the piston in each of the hydraulic cylinders is directly proportional to the length of the extended piston rod, which corresponds to compression of the cylindrical coiled spring, above which the respective hydraulic cylinder is located. Different compressions of individual cylindrical springs exert different magnitude of tensile forces in suspension eye-bolts, into whose longitudinal axes the total load size is distributed unevenly. The paper also describes the description and hydraulic circuit diagram of a hydraulic power unit, which is used to control the piston positions of two-way hydraulic cylinders.

The paper describes the design of laboratory equipment, which was created for verification and determination of the value of the static coefficient of friction in the contact surfaces of the brake lining and the brake drum of the drum brake with external shoes by experimental procedure. Suppliers of brake linings state values of the friction coefficients which correspond to different operating temperatures, but do not state the values of the friction coefficient of the respective brake lining with regard to the state of contamination of the contact surfaces. In practice, brake contact surfaces are exposed to moisture, dust, lubricants and oils, and these weather and operational influences significantly affect the value of the coefficient of friction. The results of laboratory tests performed with two types of brake linings (commonly used in practice) (fabric, hardened rubber) show that the coefficient of friction of a given brake lining is strongly influenced by the state of contamination of the contact surfaces.

The contribution deals with a device, which allows recording values of tensile forces acting on steel ropes. At the same time, this device allows setting of the same values of tensile forces in carrier ropes within multi-rope systems, which are initially unevenly subjected to tension by the action of the weight suspended on these ropes. In the contribution, two principles of devices for setting the required value of tensile force in ropes are mentioned and subjected to the analysis of practical applicability. The paper describes in detail the design and principle of operation of the mechanical device for setting the required value of tensile force in ropes, which uses screw drive and tensile force sensor.

The paper presents an experimental device that was created in order to obtain the real values of the forces acting in the vertical direction on the lock‑off element, the so‑called brake body, the 2nd design option. The lock of this design is used in the automated parking garage, designed by KOMA – Industry, s.r.o, to lock the parked vehicles on pallets in the units of the rack parking system. The forces acting in the vertical direction on the body of the fixation lock when pushing the brake pulley into the circular recess in the brake ramp are theoretically calculated for two design variants of the brake ramp used in practice, i.e. “without” and “with” a rounded (filleted) circular recess segment in the brake ramp. The experimentally determined forces acting in the vertical direction on the brake body were determined for two types of compression coil springs with a rectangular cross section of the spring wire.

Automatic parking systems are parking structures with a computer-controlled automated vehicle loading and unloading process using sophisticated technological equipment. The paper describes a construction design for a pallet locking system, which is used to lock parking pallets with or without a vehicle, at a particular location and floor, that is, in a rack cell. This is one of the basic design concept variants of “Multi-Tower” automatic parking systems. This concept makes it possible to store cars stacked in rack cells. Cars on pallets are guided to the vertical cells of the parking system, stacked above each other on pallets, by an electric freight traction elevator. Pallets are stacked into the horizontal cells, on either or both sides, on a given floor of the parking system by means of a chain transfer device. After the pallet has been guided to a particular position, the pallet must be fixed in this position by the pallet locking system so that when the vehicle needs to be retrieved, the chain transfer device can again latch onto it and move it to the traction lift cage without any problems. The locking system also functions as a brake for the pallet carrying the parked vehicle. The paper also presents the theoretical calculations of the pallet brake, which is a crucial element of the pallet locking system of the conceptual variant of the “MULTI TOWER” automatic parking system.

Cranes are common handling devices used in construction, assembly and engineering plants. Bridge cranes with a suspended crane trolley (electric or manual operated hoist) are used in almost all engineering and service operations. The trouble-free operation of these devices depends on many factors; one of the parameters influencing the operation of crane trolleys (crane trucks) and crane bridges is adhesion. The presented paper describes the theoretical assumptions, experimental determination and verification of the coefficient of adhesion on the limit of slippage at starting of the manual crane trolley.

The paper deals with the problem of water separation from a mixture of wet loose material using a worm, or auger, dewaterer, whose working element is a full auger with variable thread pitch, rotating in a fixed trough. The extrusion of water from the wet material suspension, consisting of a mixture of mineral wool tufts and granules, is effected in the auger dewaterer by entraining and compressing the wet bulk material through the threads, the varied pitch of the conical screw, and the rotation of the auger.The thread faces and thread edges of an improperly designed screw of the auger dewaterer by Advanced Metal Powders s.r.o. showed notable wear from the applied pressure of the packed wet bulk material (passing through the threads of the different pitch of the conical auger). Finding the cause of the severe abrasion and preventing excessive further wear of the auger was the subject of theoretical calculations and experimental verification tests, whose main conclusions are presented in this paper. The paper gives the relations that allow calculation of the volume of bulk material in individual sections of the auger dewaterer. The calculated values from these relationships, were verified and compared with the values read from the 3D CAD system for designing SolidWorks Premium 2012 SP 5.0 models.The percentage compression values of the loose material in the threads of differential pitch of the conical auger of the unsuitably designed auger-screw dewaterer by Advanced Metal Powders s.r.o. allowed us to define recommendations that, applied, would ensure malfunction-free operation of the auger-screw dewaterer.

The paper discusses evaluation of machining solutions for oversized thin-walled robotic portal component for conveyance workplaces. The following portal CNC machining centers have been selected. Firstly, a FSGC 300 “portal type” portal was proposed, with a 50000 mm “X” axis and Heidenhain control system, the second portal was a DMU 340 portal with the maximum axis “X” of 6000 mm and Siemens Sinumerik control system and the last portal was the VF-10 / 40 one, with the maximum axis “X” of 3048 mm and Fanuc control system. Further, the method of fixing a thin-walled robotic portal is designed and individual options are evaluated for their economy. The CAM software application used for programming the production was SolidWorks.

The paper contains the designs of modifications of testing devices, which were constructed for the purpose of checking the functional properties of the mechanical pallet fixing lock built by the KOMA – Industry s.r.o. company, which is used for securing pallets with cars in parking houses. The individual testing devices consist of one or two positioning devices, the moveable parts of which are placed perpendicular to each other in the frame of the testing device. A mechanical pallet fixing lock is attached to the moving part of the perpendicular positioning device, and it consists of the following three parts: the body, the pulley holder and a compression coil spring. A plate is attached to the moveable part of the horizontal positioning device and is adapted to receive a pressure force sensor or to engage a mechanical fixation lock or the break of an electromagnetic locking device. The paper contains the description and method of experimentally determined resistance, which is created by the shear friction on contact surface, when inserting or withdrawing the pulley holder tube from the plain bushing of the fixation lock body. Additionally, the paper provides the values of the measured vertical forces, which are generated by the deformed compression spring with a wire of circular cross-section during inserting/withdrawing of the pulley holder tube into/from the fixation lock body. The values obtained from the performed experimental measuring of vertical forces and frictional resistance during the inserting of the pulley holder tube into the plain bushing of the fixation lock body will be used for subsequent checking of the functional properties of pallet fixation locks and will allow determining the optimal position for attaching the pallet fixation locks to stack cell steel beams in the parking house, on which chain conveyers push pallets with cars are parked.

In this contribution, a technique of axial centering of cast-iron moulds, e.g. the so-called “rail system” as suggested by KonCAD CZ s.r.o. for the application of horizontal centrifugal metal casting process, is described, evaluated, and finally not recommended for practical use. The proposed principle of the axial centering technique is based on the fact that on the cast-iron mould external perimeter there are welded, perpendicularly to the cast-iron longitudi-nal centreline, two rings the external shape of which is similar to the shape of the Vignole (flat-bottomed) rail. The cast-iron moulds are supported by two pairs of opposite conic roll-ers. The cast-iron mould is driven by a contact power transmission, i.e. by the friction meth-od employing a pair of conic rollers and acting over the welded rings to the cast-iron mould. The circumferential force transfer is carried out by the friction between the cast-iron mould rings and the two driving rollers. Both driving and driven rollers have similar shapes analo-gous to a tyred wheel profile. The two driving rollers are tightly fit on the common drive shaft, the centreline of which runs in parallel with the cast-iron mould longitudinal centre-line. Both driving and driven rollers have a similar shape as a tyred wheel profile. The neces-sity of creating of a sufficient thrust force of the cast-iron mould against the rollers causes wear conditions at the rounding of external shapes of rings, bearings, as well as roller con-tact conic surfaces.

Opis:
Estimating travel time is one of the most important processes in logistics as well as in everyday life. In particular, when it comes to transportation services, efficient time management can be a competitive advantage, not to mention customer satisfaction, which can be easily translated into business success. Therefore, in this study we analyze various travel time estimation methods in combination with a well-known Fuzzy C-Means clustering algorithm. The proposed FCM-based solution has significant advantages, allowing for the determination of the optimal travel time. In an extensive numerical experiment, we present the application of the proposed method to estimate the time of a taxi trip around New York. Due to division of the city area into detailed areas and taking into account information about the travel time in the analysis, a model was obtained, that perfectly forecasts speed of taxi travel. In this study we consider various, competitive approaches to build such a model.
