Opis:
The final accuracy of the parts formed using single point incremental forming greatly depends on the mechanical properties of the material to be formed and the residual stress formation. In this paper, an X-ray diffraction technique was used to study the distribution of the residual stress along the generating line of the conical drawpiece. A DC04 steel sheet with a thickness of 0.8 mm was used as a test material. The basic mechanical properties of the DC04 sheet metal were determined in the uniaxial tensile test according to the EN ISO 6892–1:2016. It was found that the maximum amount of the residual stress existed in a point located in the midway between a base and a truncation of the drawpiece. In the outer surface of the drawpiece, the orange peel defect associated with a rough surface appearance after SPIF a drawpiece, was observed. In contrast, the inner surface of component was characterized by linear grooves associated with the interaction of tool tip with the sheet surface. This defect is mainly influenced by vertical step size.

Opis:
Transition curves connecting straight sections with circular curves and vice versa are present on all types of roads. They are designed to smooth the transition from rectilinear to circular motion. In numerous instances, they are hardly noticeable by road use. Although adequately selected, they increase the safety and comfort of driving. The research aimed to investigate the effectiveness of three most popular curves, in the design of road routes: clothoid, a parabola of the 3rd-degree and Bernoulli lemniscate. Starting from the permissible values of the increment of centripetal acceleration on the transition curves, the minimum lengths of the transition curves for the assumed speeds of the wheeled vehicle were determined. Then, based on the formulas of individual curves, their lengths were calculated, depending on the design speed and the radius of the circular arc. As a result of the research, the differences between the individual curves were obtained. Finally, it was found that due to the unconstrained movement of the vehicle on the road, all curves could be used as transition curves. By slightly adjusting their lengths, we can achieve the appropriate value of the increment of centripetal acceleration. The legitimacy of using different curves as transition curves lies primarily in their different geometric appearance. The choice of the curve to be used is based primarily on the terrain conditions and the type of the planned section of the route (serpentines, turnouts, etc.).

Opis:
The aim of the present article is the assessment of technical shear resistance (technological shear) of orthopedic screw made of titanium alloy Ti6Al4V, produced using incremental technology in the process of 3D printing process. The first part of the work presents incremental techniques in production engineering. The second part of the present work contains a specification of the 3D printing process of samples as well as the description of the used material. The fundamental part of the article is composed out of endurance tests for orthopaedic screws as well as the analysis of the obtained results and conclusions. The method of incremental production SLM using SLM 280HL metal printer was used during the technological process. The resistance tests were performed using ZWICK/ROELL Z150 machines. Identical endurance trials were performed for monolithic bars made of titanium alloys (of bar core size ) made on a wire electric discharge machine Sodick SL600Q for comparative purposes. The obtained test results enabled comparative assessment of the value of shear resistance Rt in the conditions of technological shear. According to the performed tests, the shear resistance Rt of orthopaedic screws is nearly 33% lower than of monolithic bars of the same core size.

Opis:
Literature has vastly advocated for incremental sheet forming as a significant process for formation of sheet metal components, because of its higher formability in comparison with the rest of metal forming processes such as deep drawing and stamping. Due to high formability of incremental sheet forming it becomes important to investigate the main factors, influencing the quality of forming products. However, less attention has been given to investigate the inconsistencies reflected often in determining the effect of multiple forming parameters and parametric interactions comprising of spindle rotational speed and feed rate, tool size and sheet thickness, sheet thickness and step depth. This study investigates the effect of various principal factors including tool type, tool size, sheet thickness, spindle speed, feed rate, step increment including and their respective interaction on surface roughness. Research data was collected by undertaking extensive literature review of previous studies on incremental sheet forming regarding surface quality. A quantitative one way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was employed to analyze the significance and contribution of factors influencing surface quality of sheet forming. The findings highlight the contribution of forming parameters and their combined interactions on surface roughness. Based on the empirical findings, this study derives implications for the optimization of tool type, parametric interactions among principal factors and their respective optimized operational range for incremental sheet forming.
