Dom. has been recorded in Western Caucasus at southern slopes of the Abishira-Akhuba range (Karachay-Cherkessia Autonomous Republic belonging to the Russian Federation). This new information is very important supplement dealing with the distribution of this taxon, because the area of its known distribution was moved very strongly to the East.

This is the first report on Cladonia diversa Asperges in Poland. Till the present this species was overlooked and usually included under the name C. coccifera. The study is based on revision of over a thousand of specimens of the genus Cladonia section Cocciferae deposited in Polish herbaria. The morphology, chemistry, habitat requirements and known distribution of the lichen in Poland are discussed. A taxonomical remarks concerning the species are also provided.

Polystichum setiferum
Opis:
During field studies in 2019 in the Beskid Śląski mountain range in southern Poland, one individual morphologically resembling Polystichum setiferum was found. Nuclear DNA content analysis confirmed the species identity. The new stand of P. setiferum corresponds to historical literature reports and herbarium specimens from the Czech Republic and Poland, and extends the northeastern limit of the distribution of this species. As the historical stands in both countries have not been confirmed, the newly discovered stand is at present strongly isolated, as the nearest extant locations of P. setiferum in Austria, southern Hungary, and western Romania are nearly 500 km away. Therefore, this unique stand deserves special attention and protection.

The paper is based on field studies dealing with the lichen genus Cladonia Hill ex P. As the result not reported so far from the island species Cladonia stygia (Fr.) Ruoss, C. trassii Ahti, C. verticillata (Hoffm.) Schaer. have been determined. Besides, the presence of very rarely recorded taxa C. crispata var. cetrariiformis (Delise) Vain., C. merochlorophaea Asahina and Cladonia symphycarpia (Flörke) Fr. is confirmed and their new localities are given. Furthermore, the presence of C. coccifera s.str. is also substantiated.

The distribution of four species of the genus Vulpia [V. myuros (L.) C.C. Gmel., V. bromoides (L.) S.F. Gray, V. ciliata Dumort. and V. geniculata (L.) Link] reported in Poland has been studied. Currently, V. myuros and especially V. bromoides are very rare species, and their greatest concentration can be found only in the Lower Silesia region. The number of their localities decreased after 1950 and it seems resonable to include both species in the "red list" of threatened plants in Poland: V. myuros in the EN category, V. bromoides in the CR category. V. ciliata and V. geniculata are very rare ephemerophytes and their localities not confirmed during ca 60 years are of historical interest only.

The paper deals with the richness and diversity of endemic and subendemic taxa in the Polish Carpathians. Based on critical studies in the literature and the authors' unpublished materials collected in the field, the distribution patterns of endemic species are analysed and discussed. The participation of endemics in the flora of single Carpathian ranges is assessed and analysed. The importance of the Tatra Mts as a centre of endemism is stressed. The frequency and altitudinal ranges of endemic taxa are characterized and their syntaxonomical spectrum is presented.

A new stand of H. pilosum, a species not reported before from the territory of Poland, was found in the Polish Western Tatra Mts. It grows in numerous stands on limestone rocks on the slopes of Upłaziańska Kopka, at ca. 1400 m a.s.l. Moreover, typical form of this species, collected in the Polish Western Tatra Mts, was also found in herbaria of KRA and KRAM. These data indicate that H. pilosum is a widespread species in the described region but it was unrecognized from H. villosum so far.

Opis:
The genus Taraxacum is taxonomically complicated due to apomixis. Therefore, there are significant differences in knowledge of regional Taraxacum-Floras among European countries. Similarly, some taxa are well characterised with well-known distribution, whereas some ones are known e.g. from a single locality. Taraxacum scanicum of section Erythrosperma is one of the most common microspecies of this section in Europe. Recently, this taxon was split into three microspecies. In this study we map the distribution of three described taxa of this group in Poland, i.e. T. scanicum s.s., T. prunicolor and T. cristatum. The survey showed that T. scanicum has a similar distribution as T. prunicolor in Poland. This is in contrast with the hitherto known distribution of both taxa. T. cristatum was found at a single locality that is quite distant from the distribution in southern central Europe. We also provide with new morphological characteristics of achenes and pollen for T. scanicum s.s. and T. prunicolor.
