Opis:
Electronic absorption spectra of erbium and dysprosium acetate single crystals were measured. The intensities of 4f-4f transitions were calculated and the Judd-Ofelt Ω$\text{}_{λ}$ parameters evaluated. Heavy lanthanide acetates differ from other lanthanide carboxylate compounds by relatively high "hypersensitive" transition intensities and the Ω$\text{}_{2}$ parameters. These results are discussed in terms of a stronger polarization effect which can be explained by the distinctly shorter Ln-OH$\text{}_{2}$ bond in comparison with the Ln-OOC bond in the investigated system.

Opis:
Single crystals of double molybdates and tungstates of the formula KLa$\text{}_{1-x}$Pr$\text{}_{x}$(MO$\text{}_{4}$)$\text{}_{2}$ (M = Mo, W) with a concentration of Pr$\text{}^{3+}$ ions ranging from x=0.1 to x=0.005 have been prepared. Their electronic absorption and emission spectra have been measured and discussed as well as related to their crystal structures. Both the multiphonon relaxation and cross relaxation contribute to the decay of the $\text{}^{3}$P$\text{}_{0}$ level of Pr$\text{}^{3+}$ in these two matrices.

Opis:
The $\text{}^{6}$G$\text{}_{J}$ → $\text{}^{6}$P$\text{}_{J}$ emission for Gd$\text{}^{3+}$ in LiYF$\text{}_{4}$ around 600 nm is reported. As far as we are aware, this is the first observation of visible luminescence from trivalent gadolinium.

Opis:
Absorption and reflectivity measurements have been carried out for Zn$\text{}_{1-x}$Cd$\text{}_{x}$Se:Ni and ZnS$\text{}_{x}$Se$\text{}_{1-x}$:Ni solid solutions. Energy level positions of nickel 2+/1+ charge state have been used for estimation of band offsets for the valence and conduction bands of ZnCdSe/ZnSe and ZnSSe/ZnSe. Intra-shell transitions of Ni$\text{}^{2+}$ were also studied.

Opis:
Single crystals of lanthanide complexes (Ln = Pr, Nd, Eu) were obtained from aqueous solutions. Optical properties of the title compound are investigated by absorption, excitation, and emission spectra. Probabilities of electronic transitions were analysed and participation of vibronic components in the spectra were found. Temperature effect on the spectra was studied and analysed in terms of cooperative interaction.

The absorption spectra of [Nd(C$\text{}_{3}$H$\text{}_{7}$NO)(NO$\text{}_{3}$)$\text{}_{3}$(H$\text{}_{2}$O)$\text{}_{3}$]·H$\text{}_{2}$O were measured at 293 K and 5 K and the intensities of f-f transitions were investigated. The electron-phonon features observed in absorption spectra were identified and compared with other available data for Nd systems.

Absorption spectroscopy was used to study the aqueous solution structure of Eu(III) complexes with DTPA (diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid) and TTHA (triethylenetetraaminehexaacetic acid). Analysis of the oscillator strengths of the 4f ↔ 4f transitions and of the Judd-Ofelt intensity parameters, τ$\text{}_{λ}$, was performed in order to investigate the formation and the type of bonding in Eu(III)-DTPA and Eu(III)-TTHA species occurring in solution. The correlation of these results with those from other methods made it possible to suggest a relatively complete model of Eu(III)-polyaminocarboxylate coordination.

Photoluminescence measurements have been carried out for Zn$\text{}_{1-x}$ Cd$\text{}_{x}$ Se:Co and ZnS$\text{}_{x}$Se$\text{}_{1-x}$:Co mixed crystals. Changes of recombination channels are observed in mixed crystals as compared to the emission of host binary compounds. Character of changes is slightly different for the alloys with cation and anion substitution. Photoluminescence kinetics of the L-line and of two other Co$\text{}^{2+}$ intra-shell emission bands was measured to determine radiative decay rates.

The paper presents the results of vibroacoustic investigations and the measurements of the acoustic pressure level (noise) of a transformer model. The measurements were taken at a full transformer load in two operation conditions: at a producer packeted core and at unpacketed core. Unpacketing consisted in loosing the screws pressing the particular core plates. Mechanical vibrations were registered and the acoustic pressure level was measured. The vibroacoustic analysis results are presented in the form of frequency spectra and the results of the acoustic analysis of the transformer under study are shown by determining corrected values of the acoustic pressure level and by a frequency analysis.

Opis:
In this paper, we present new voltage mode quadrature oscillator, employing single differential difference transconductance amplifier. The proposed oscillator structure consists of two grounded capacitors and a single resistor. The use of grounded capacitors is particularly attractive for integrated circuit implementation. In this way, the frequency of oscillations can be controlled by the biasing current of transconductance stage. Simulation results agree quite well with the theoretical analysis.

Wavelet transformation is one of the most popular tools for acoustic signal analysis. It provides good resolution both in time and frequency domains as well as wide choice of mother wavelets - this makes wavelet transformation a choice when flexible approach is required. However, selecting parameters of analysis can be difficult, especially regarding mother wavelet as different mother wavelets have various properties regarding number of vanishing moments and symmetry. This paper presents studies to determine the possibility of on-load tap changer wear detection by applying wavelet transformation. In research, different mother wavelets were selected and their usefulness was examined. Signals to be analyzed were obtained during on-load tap changer operation in different mechanical conditions - simulating devices wear in service. All measurements were performed on model very similar to real industrial on-load tap changer. Tests were conducted in controlled laboratory environment, reducing most of the possible disruptions.

Opis:
This study proposes a sequential pattern mining algorithm to discover sequential patterns of Malaysia rainfall data for prediction. The apriori based algorithm is employed to find the sequential patterns from the time series data. The frequent episodes of rainfall sequences are discovered and classified by the expert into four main events namely, No rain, Light, Moderate and heavy. The sequential rules of ten rainfall stations from the duration of 33 years are analysed. The proposed algorithm is able to generate higher confidence and support of frequent and sequential patterns. Generally, the proposed study has shown its potential in producing methods that manage to preserve important knowledge and thus reduce information loss in weather prediction problem.

This paper presents an attractive and new quadrature oscillator based on $G_{m}$-C structure. The proposed quadrature oscillator is achieved with MOS transistors and two capacitors. The passive capacitors are grounded, which is an advantage for integrated circuit implementation. The theoretical results are verified by LTSPICE simulation using the 0.18 μm CMOS technology from TSMC. The proposed quadrature oscillator circuit can be used in several communication and instrumentation systems.
