Opis:
We study the effects of dissipation and noise on chaotic electron dynamics, which accompany charge transport in semiconductor superlattices with an applied bias voltage and a tilted magnetic field. We consider the evolution of different chaotic trajectories as decoherence increases, and show that below a critical level of the dissipation rate, dissipative chaos plays an important role in the electron transport. However, by increasing the dissipation rate above the critical level, chaotic dynamics disappear and electrons only demonstrate regular motion. We also investigate how the presence of random fluctuations affects magnetotransport in superlattices and reveal a counter-intuitive non-monotonic dependence of electron drift velocity upon the noise intensity.

Opis:
This study is concerned with the research and development in the field of materials science, leading to the industrial applications especially for the development of materials by moulding process. The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of vanadium on microstructural, mechanical and electrochemical properties of gray cast iron with lamellar graphite EN-FGL250. We investigated the effect of adding element (vanadium), during the casting of the metal in the mould, in a powder form having a particle size of 0.5 mm with the amounts of 1%, 3% and 5% in weight percent on microstructural and mechanical properties of gray cast iron with lamellar graphite. The originality of this work is the addition of the vanadium powder during the last stage of cooling of the melted gray cast iron EN-FGL250. These additions have a significant impact on the solidification phenomenon since the deposited vanadium powder into the sand moulds creates the new sites of nucleation and absorbs a lot of heat leading to the fast cooling. From the experimental results, we can confirm that the cooling rate directly affects the microstructural, mechanical and electrochemical behavior of the cast gray iron treated with vanadium. As result, it was observed that there is a slight decrease of the elasticity modulus of the work pieces, and a reduction of the maximum tensile resistance R_{m}. Finally, the addition of vanadium considerably reduces the corrosion current of gray cast iron treated with vanadium.

Opis:
We studied changes of morphology and magnetic properties of Co/Cu multilayered nanowires, electrodeposited in polycarbonate membranes, as a function of Cu layer thickness. The morphology and structure of wire assemblies with an average diameter of 200 nm and length of 10 μ m, investigated by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy techniques, revealed polycrystalline structure of Cu and Co layers with smooth lateral surface of nanowires. Overdeposited nanowires created caps which showed flower-like dendrites with shape changing as a function of Cu thickness and electrodeposition parameters. Chemical composition of Co and Cu nanowires analysed by energy dispersive spectroscopy and proton induced X-ray emission showed Cu nanowires free from Co atoms while in Co nanowires, Cu contamination with concentration below 10% was observed. The oxidation traces observed in single-component Cu nanowires did not appear in multilayered nanowires. Magnetic measurements indicated easy axis of magnetization in membrane plane for nanowires with Cu thickness smaller than 20 nm, whereas for larger Cu thicknesses isotropic orientation of magnetization was observed. The presence of Cu atoms in single-component Co nanowires resulted in the appearance of magnetic anisotropy with easy axis along nanowire axis and the increase of coercivity value.
