NdBa$\text{}_{2}$Cu$\text{}_{3}$O$\text{}_{7-δ}$ superconducting thin films were grown on SrTiO$\text{}_{3}$(100) and LaSrGaO$\text{}_{4}$(100) substrates by off-axis rf sputtering and pulsed laser deposition. The effects of several deposition parameters, e.g. gas pressure, substrate temperature and energy density were studied. Thin films grown by off-axis rf sputtering were highly c-axis oriented, but those by pulsed laser deposition were predominantly a-axis oriented under our deposition conditions. However, the c-axis oriented portion for the films grown by pulsed laser deposition was increased by increasing the temperature above 800°C. T$\text{}_{c(zero)}$ was 87 K and 83 K for the c- and a-axis oriented films respectively. The critical current density of c-axis oriented films was 10$\text{}^{6}$-10$\text{}^{7}$ A/cm$\text{}^{2}$ below 60 K.

Opis:
Al arc thermal spray coating materials are widely used to prevent the corrosion of steel structure materials in marine environment. To improve the durability of the Al alloy thermal spray coating layer, Al-Mg alloy arc thermal spray coating was performed with different Mg contents. Furthermore, the cavitation experiment was performed in natural seawater to evaluate the durability of the thermal spray coating layer, and the damaged surface was analyzed with a scanning electron microscope and a 3D microscope. As a result, the durability of the Al-Mg alloy thermal spray coating layer improved by the addition of Mg, and the Al-3%Mg thermal spray coating layer presented the best characteristics.

Opis:
The antireflection structures are fabricated by sol-gel process as a protective layer of solar cells and by hot embossing process with anodized aluminum oxide membrane template on polycarbonate film. The optical properties and morphology of the antireflection structures are analyzed by UV-visible spectroscopy and field emission scanning electron microscopy, respectively. The total conversion efficiency of a polycrystalline Si solar cell module with the protective layer, sol-gel-derived nanoporous antireflection structure, is increased by 2.6% and 5.7% for one-side antireflection coated prismatic matt glass and both-side antireflection coated prismatic matt glass, respectively.

Using ultrafast cooling (with the cooling rate up to 10⁶ K/s) helps to minimize the T-alloying concentration (T = Mo, Pt, Pd, Nb, Zr) necessary to retain the γ-U phase down to low temperatures. All investigated splat-cooled U-T alloys become superconducting with $T_{c}$ in the range of 0.61-2.11 K. The bulk character of superconductivity can be concluded for some of the splats when comparing the specific-heat anomaly at $T_{c}$ with the BCS theory prediction.

Opis:
γ-U metal, stabilized down to room temperature in the bcc structure by Mo doping, can absorb hydrogen at high $H_{2}$ pressures only. The product is amorphous hydride $UH_{3}Mo_{x}$ analogous to $β-UH_{3}$. Such hydrides are ferromagnetic with high Curie temperatures (up to 200 K), enhanced with respect to $β-UH_{3}$. Magnetic moment of U also increases. Large disorder together with high anisotropy lead to a very high coercivity, reaching 4 T at low temperatures. As amorphization normally tends to suppress magnetic ordering of U compounds, such hydrides represent a new class of materials, amorphous U-based ferromagnets with relatively high Curie temperature.
