Opis:
BEDT-TTF, BMDT-TTF and BEDO-TTF are well known thio-TTF and oxo-TTF (in the former case) derivatives on the basis of which cation-radical salts with 2D type of conductivity can be produced. In this work the comparative analysis of electron-molecular vibration coupling constants (obtained by MNDO quantum-chemical method) that describe the interaction between totally symmetric A$\text{}_{g}$ modes and electron on HOMO level is performed.

The strong coupling or Eliashberg equations of superconductivity have been generalised to describe strongly correlated systems. Calculations show that d-wave superconductivity is stable for small hole doping. It also follows that in correlated systems one should define three different Eliashberg functions and corresponding electron- phonon coupling constants λ$\text{}_{N}$, λ$\text{}_{S}$ and λ$\text{}_{tr}$ (to describe normal (N), superconducting (S) and transport (tr) properties) each of which is measured in different kind of experiment.

Opis:
The quantum Hall effect is a set of phenomena observed at low temperature in a two-dimensional electron gas subject to a strong perpendicular magnetic field. It manifests itself as a quantization of the nondiagonal elements (ρ$\text{}_{xy}$) of the resistivity tensor accompanied by simultaneous vanishing ρ$\text{}_{xx}$ for ranges of the magnetic field. For the integer quantum Hall effect ρ$\text{}_{xy}$= h/νe$\text{}^{2}$, where h is the Planck constant, e - charge of an electron andν is an integer, while for the fractional quantum Hall effectν is a simple fraction. In spite of similar phenomenology deep and profound differences exist between these two effects. In the lecture the precision of the Hall quantization in the integer quantum Hall effect and briefly new types of quantum fluids observed in the fractional quantum Hall effect are discussed. Some recent theoretical and experimental discoveries connected with quantum Hall liquids are also mentioned.

We consider transport through triple quantum dot system in a triangular geometry weakly coupled to external ferromagnetic leads. The real-time diagrammatic technique in the lowest order perturbation theory is used to calculate the current and Fano factor in the parallel and antiparallel magnetic configuration of the system as well as the resulting tunnel magnetoresistance (TMR). We focus on the transport regime where the current is suppressed and show that it can lead to negative differential conductance and large super-Poissonian shot noise, which are present in both magnetic configurations. Furthermore, we show that for voltages where the system is trapped in a one-particle dark state the TMR becomes suppressed, while for two-particle blockade, the TMR is much enhanced.

Opis:
We theoretically study the electronic transport through a triple quantum dot system in triangular geometry weakly coupled to external metallic leads. By means of the real-time diagrammatic technique, the current and Fano factor are calculated in the lowest order of perturbation theory. The device parameters are tuned to such transport regime, in which coherent population trapping of electrons in quantum dots due to the formation of dark states occurs. The presence of such states greatly influences transport properties leading to a strong current blockade and enhanced, super-Poissonian shot noise. We consider both one- and two-electron dark states and examine the influence of magnetic field on coherent trapping in aforementioned states. When the system is in one-electron dark state, we observe a small shift of the blockade's region, whereas in the case of two-electron dark state, we show that strong magnetic field can lift the current blockade completely.

Copper zinc alloys were electrodeposited in the form of thin films. Electrodeposition process was carried out in non-cyanide aqueous medium, under constant current. Effect of pre-deposition ultrasonication of solution was investigated. In other words ultrasonic treatment was applied only before the electrodeposition. Solutions were subjected to high-energy ultrasonication for increasing times. Cyclic voltammetry was used to understand changes occurring due to duration of ultrasonication. No ultrasonication was applied during deposition. Atomic composition of resultant films were revealed by MP-AES. It was found that implementation of ultrasonic treatment before electrodeposition affects CV characteristics, when compared to non-ultrasonicated solution. Atomic composition of fabricated samples were found to be close to each other, some of them showing more deviation.

Thin film brass alloys were galvanostatically electrodeposited from non-cyanide citrate solutions. Aqueous sulphate solutions were used as deposition medium. It was aimed to understand the effect of ultrasonication of the solutions before electrodeposition process. Ultrasonication was not applied during deposition. This method was utilized to change solution characteristics, by applying high energy via cavitation mechanism, which would result in changes in resultant film properties. X-ray diffraction technique was used to investigate phase formation in samples. Moreover X-ray diffractograms were also used to calculate grain size values. Cu and Zn elements were codeposited successfully to form brass alloys. When phase formations in the samples were compared to each other, it was concluded that although there are small differences between X-ray diffractograms of samples, ultrasonic treatment before electrodeposition is not an effective way to alter phase characteristics of CuZn alloy samples, since all samples have shown similar X-ray diffraction graphs. Grain size is found to get smaller with presence of ultrasonication, extending ultrasonication time caused only small random changes in grain size.

We analyze the spin-dependent conductance and spin polarization of a double quantum dot in a T-shape configuration coupled to ferromagnetic leads in the presence of external magnetic field. The calculations are performed with the aid of the numerical renormalization group method. We show that in the antiparallel configuration, finite magnetic field can give rise to the full spin polarization of the current, which can be controlled by tuning the dots' levels. On the other hand, for parallel configuration enhanced spin polarization can be generated by an exchange field due to the presence of ferromagnetic leads and can be also tuned by changing level position or external magnetic field. The magnetic field can be thus used to improve the spin-resolved properties of the system.

We analyze the Andreev conductance through a quantum dot strongly coupled to one ferromagnetic and one superconducting lead. The transmission due to the Andreev reflection is obtained from the numerical renormalization group method. We show that at low temperatures, depending on the dot level position, the Andreev conductance exhibits a peak at zero bias due to the Kondo effect, which can be split by the exchange field due to spin-dependent coupling to ferromagnetic lead.

Superconducting properties of small metallic grains modelled by highly degenerate two-level spectrum have been studied. We have solved numerically Richardson's exact equations for the system of 2N electrons in two levels. Characterising the size of the grain by the level degeneracy we study the finite size corrections to the thermodynamic limit of the ground and lowest excited state energy. The interparticle distance∝ N$\text{}^{-1}\text{}^{/}\text{}^{3}$ seems to be the expansion parameter. The obtained results have been compared with those of other authors.

The previously developed approach to study off-diagonal disorder has been extended and applied to both s- and d-wave superconductors. The derived equations allow the self-consistent solution of the problem. For a special case of negative U centres embedded in non-superconducting host we have calculated their critical concentration for the appearance of superconductivity and found it equal to≈0.4. For x>x$\text{}_{cr}$ the order parameter continuously increases to its maximal value at x=1.

Opis:
One of the main goals of radiotherapy is to achieve tumor control and minimize probability of normal-tissue complications. For this reason radiation oncology requires high accuracy, which implies no more than 2-3% uncertainty levels in the treatment planning calculations. That is challenging, when heterogeneous tissues such as lungs and bones are involved. To verify the accuracy of the dose calculation algorithms numerous approaches might be performed. The most common are point dose, one-dimensional profile and two-dimensional isodose line comparison with experimental measurements. In presented study, results of transport modeling and the deposited spatial distribution of the dose, obtained by anisotropic analytical algorithm and pencil beam convolution algorithm, were compared to measurements recorded during the experiment. To achieve meaningful conclusions, three parameters: dose difference, distance to agreement and gamma parameter (γ) were taken into consideration and examined. The irradiation was performed using CIRS anthropomorphic phantom. For dose detection gafchromic EBT films were used and scanned after exposure using Epson Scanner. Measured and planned dose distributions were analyzed via FilmQA software. Preliminary results showed that the anisotropic analytical algorithm, with its complex accounting of heterogeneities, provides more accurate dose calculation within an area of a high density gradient, than pencil beam convolution does. The level of the data accuracy derived from the experiment was: dose difference (5%) - 83.4% and 68% pixels passing, distance to agreement (3 mm) - 99.0% and 96.7%, gamma parameter (for dose difference (3%), distance to agreement (3 mm)) - 90% and 75.5%, respectively, for anisotropic analytical algorithm and pencil beam convolution algorithms. The comparison between studied parameters dose difference, distance to agreement and γ for both algorithms implicated anisotropic analytical algorithm as an appropriate approach in radiotherapy treatment planning.

The isotope effects in disordered weak and strong coupling superconductors of different symmetries of the order parameter have been studied. On the other hand the calculated change of relative isotope coefficient with T$\text{}_{c}$/T$\text{}_{c0}$ in homogeneous thin film materials is similar to that observed in high temperature superconductors.
