Opis:
The main aim of the work is the integration of modalmetric sensor in one arm. The proposed sensor is a classical fiber optic cable whose measuring arm is upgraded with multimode sensor. The aim of the research is to assess the impact of modal changes for detection of mechanical disturbances and comparative assessment of detection capabilities of interferometer sensor, modalmetric sensor, and hybrid sensor for different types of excitations. The measurements concerns the area of fundamental research. The results can be used in the construction of sensors with corresponding characteristics and properties, especially to protect museum collections.

Opis:
The article describes the operation's rule of the fiber optic sensor in the modalmetric configuration. This type of sensor is described by comparatively simple construction, while retaining other features of fiber-optic sensors such as high sensitivity. This gives a very high potential application. In the paper possible application of the modalmetric sensor to protection of works of art and museum collections is presented. The advantage of its use is the ability to tie the fiber in structure of material. Moreover, the advantage of such type a sensor compared to existing solutions of security sensors is the reaction for vibration and touch. The paper presents the concept and results of the system optimization.

Opis:
The paper describes the methodology of identifying an interference in the optical fiber. The paper presents the technology widely known as quantum key distribution. The quantum key distribution is based on the technique of constant comparison of quantum characteristics of the input light source and its characteristics at the end of the fiber optic. Methodology of presented work includes the evaluation of the functional objectives through the constructive assumptions for the laboratory models development. This paper presents the model of a system based on the comparison of polarization states of light quanta using two asymmetric Mach-Zender interferometers as transmitting and receiving systems to enable compensation of polarization state changes at the input and output of the fiber optics sensing cable. Continuous monitoring of the state of the reference signal, the specific changes of natural or ambient effects on the fiber will attempt to identify interference in the optical waveguide as a change of the polarization of the quantum states of the light. The authors indicate the possibility of using such fiber optic sensor as a security sensor to protect the extensive critical infrastructure facilities. In this article the future research conception of using compressed sensing algorithms for data compression in quantum key distribution systems is presented.

Opis:
This paper presents the effect of light polarization in a hybrid fiber optic sensor. The hybrid sensor is defined as a combination of interferometer sensor and modalmetric sensor. Hybrid sensor system is based on the effect of outputting interferometric sensor of interference as a result of changes made by the modalmetric system. Balance of polarization in the arms of classical interferometer sensor leads to improvement of contrast of interference pattern at the output of the interferometer. Aim of this study is to present a balance light polarization effects in a hybrid system.

Opis:
The surveillance system more often uses devices working on different bands that are used not only for detection but also to recognize and identify threats. The paper presents the possibility of protection, detection and identification of risks, achieved through the use of multispectral detection systems in critical infrastructure facilities. The authors consider the benefits of active sensors based on other wavebands, such as millimeter wave radar, terahertz cameras, infrared camera and shows the ability to detect and identify the target using data collected by the sensors. Also discussed the issue of fusion data from different sensors and opportunities that the whole system obtained by application of data fusion.

Opis:
This paper presents detection, identification and quantification of gases using an infrared imaging Fourier-transform spectrometer. The company Telops has developed an imaging Fourier-transform spectrometer instrument, Hyper-Cam sensor, which is offered as short or long wave infrared sensor. The principle of operation of the spectrometer and the methodology for gases detection, identification and quantification has been shown in the paper, as well as theoretical evaluation of gases detection possibility. The variation of a signal reaching the imaging Fourier-transform spectrometer caused by the presence of a gas has been calculated and compared with the reference signal obtained without the presence of a gas in the imaging Fourier-transform spectrometer field of view. Some result of the detection of various types of gases has been also included in the paper.
