Opis:
The study contains a description of magnetic properties of LaFeCoSi/FeCoV structure. The hybrid structure contains magnetocaloric LaFeCoSi core with high-induction ferromagnetic laminations. The magnetic field inside the magnetic structure is gained by the fringe field from FeCoV laminations. Results of modelling and experimental investigations of modified magnetic properties of LaFeCoSi/FeCoV structure were presented and discussed in the paper.

Opis:
Recently, a precession X-ray study has discovered that ferroelectric $BaTiO_3$ single crystals have a coherent hybrid structure that consists of tetragonal and monoclinic lattices that share the (101) face of the tetragonal [11, 12]. Microscopic observations attest that the single crystal has two kinds of stripes (dark and white regions). Raman spectra of all sides of the cubic crystal have been collected at several scattering configurations. Two kinds of domains have been observed by the Raman measurements within the stripes, which are identified as light and dark spots under the optical microscope. The spectra structures and line widths are strongly affected when the laser direction is parallel to the b-axes and the polarization parallel to the a- or c-axes of the 90° domain (ac-side). It appears that there is a symmetry reduction and disorder, which affects the Raman active phonons. The results are in agreement with the coexistence of the two (tetragonal and monoclinic) lattices.

We report on the electronic structure of hybrid heterostructure combined the ferromagnetic double perovskite Sr₂CrReO₆ (SCRO) and ferroelectric BaTiO₃ (BTO) calculated in the GGA approach using the fully relativistic spin-polarized Dirac LMTO method. The optical and MO properties as well as the X-ray absorption spectra and X-ray magnetic circular dichroism at the Ti, Ba, and Re L_{2,3} edges and O K edges of the SCRO/BTO heterostructures were investigated theoretically from the first principles. It was shown that the calculations reproduce well available experimental spectra and allow to explain the microscopic origin of the SCRO/BTO heterostructures optical, MO and XMCD spectra.

Using the first-principles projector augmented wave method, the structural and electronic properties of wurtzite crystals, AlN, GaN, InN and ZnO have been calculated. Different exchange-correlation approximations: LDA, LDA+U, GGA, GGA+U and hybrid Heyd-Scuseria-Ernzerhof method were used. We also present the values of band gap calculated within different GW approximations ($G_0W_0,$ $GW_0,$ $GW$ and $U+G_0W_0,$ the last one for materials with shallow d states). In case of structural parameters the best agreement with experiment was obtained for hybrid Heyd-Scuseria-Ernzerhof functional and in case of band gap the best agreement was for $GW$ and $U+G_0W_0$ approximation.

In the present work we have focused on the preparation and magnetic study of coordination polymer formed by Gd(III) cations as nodes and formate (HCOO¯; FOR) anions as charge compensating linkers. The prepared complex with formula ${[Gd(μ_{3}-FOR)_{3}]}_{n}$ was characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, and high-energy powder X-ray diffraction. The structural study showed that complex is formed by 3D polymeric network with the shortest Gd-Gd, distances of 3.998 Å. The magnetic properties of the complex were studied by magnetic susceptibility $χ_{M}(T)$ and magnetization M(H) measurements. The results show on the weak antiferromagnetic coupling at low temperatures represented by the Weiss constant θ=-0.468 K. The value of effective magnetic moment $μ_{eff}=7.57μ_{B}$, which was estimated from the experimental data is close to the theoretical value for systems with S=7/2. Correlation between crystal structure of complexes and magnetic properties is presented.

Opis:
We propose to realize MoRe/SiO_x(W)/MoRe hybrid junctions by using self-organization effects for the creation of quantum dots (tungsten clusters) in the semiconductor barriers consisting of a mixture of silicon and silicon oxide. Current-voltage characteristics of the MoRe/SiO_x(W)/MoRe samples have been measured in a wide voltage range from -900 to 900 mV at temperatures from 4.2 to 77 K. At low temperatures and for a comparatively small W content in the hybrid barrier, the heterostructures exhibited current-voltage curves of an unusual shape. Single or several current peaks caused by electron tunneling through the allowed states in the barrier have been observed in the transport characteristics. With increasing temperature, superconducting fluctuations in the MoRe electrodes become unimportant, and the current-voltage curve of a heterostructure follows the Ohm law. At last, we present theoretical description of the charge transport in such inhomogeneous systems with account of many-electron processes.
