Opis:
The article concerns nominal derivatives referring to narcotics addicts, psychoactive substan- ces, activities and conditions related to using them as well as objects used to get under their influence. Word formation models used in the jargon of narcotics addicts generally function similarly to the productive word formation models of the common language. Among the number of nominal morphological derivatives, simple derivatives - suffixal and paradigmatic - are most common. There are not many complex derivatives (composite). The phonetic manner of forming new words can be considered a typical jargon word formation procedure. This manner includes the following phenomena: metathesis (transposition of sounds), substitution (replacement of the right sound by another one) or using the first letter instead of the word.

derivation in contemporary Russian
Opis:
The authoress discusses the most important active processes in the field of deriyation in Russian at the beginning of the 21st century, namely the colloquialization, the growth of international lexis, the growth of analytic constructions and agglutination in the structure of derivatives, the growth of subjective factors as well as the excessive expressions. As the sources of language samples the authoress uses texts of current speech, of mass communication and of the newest literature.

Opis:
The paper is aimed at the problem of transformational word-formation meant as a dynamic process of formation of new expressions on the basis of linguistic models using entire forms of already existing expressions, which become motivated expressions that way. This problem was taken into consideration from this viewpoint often defined in linguistics as polysemy. One lexical unit was analyzed on the basis of many core glossaries and a homonym dictionary, and three was an attempt to falsify the theory of polysemy and substitute it with the theory of homonimoidality seen as a phenomenon of formal similarity of xpressions having different semantic features and retained derivational features (one of the expressions is a motivational one, another – motivated). The paper also presents a detailed description with a scheme of motivation of such lexical transformations of the entity, which is determined by a greater semantic elasticity. In the glossaries, the number of meanings for the lexical unit oscillated at 15–17 meanings but their definitions were different. The change in basic theory allowed both to distract and to order the semantic structure of homonimoids пройти.

Opis:
Backderivation is an example of a non-affixative word-forming process in which an affix is removed to create a semantically corresponding verb (Bauer, Lieber, Plague 2013: 280). This common phenomenon in English mostly occurs in the area of lexis borrowed from classical languages. The author focuses on directionality as a diachronic problem, and productivity of the process in a synchronic perspective. In order to trace the phenomenon of directionality, material from the source languages is collected chronologically. As for the phenomenon of productivity, quantitative analysis bases on attestations in text corpora and dictionaries. The author examines occurrences of this mechanism and its influence on the creation of similar forms in scientific and specialist language.
