Opis:
The presence of backlash in wind turbines is a source of limitations as it introduces nonlinearities that reduce their efficiency in speed/torque control which affect the performance of the power quality. Because of production tolerances during rotation, the teeth contact is lost for a small angle; until it is re-established, it produces a backlash phenomenon. The desire to eliminate this phenomenon is often hard to realise due to the nonlinear dynamic behaviour, which arises with the presence of backlash fault in a system. Therefore, the goal of this study is to develop an LQ optimal control structure in a form of an R-S-T controller in order to reduce the disturbing torque transmitted inside the dead zone of a gearbox in the wind turbine system. The actual system is also developed to be used as a demonstration model at lectures or presentations. The efficacy of the proposed control is illustrated via simulations.

Opis:
The purpose of the paper is to study the problem of controllability of linear control systems with control constrains, defined on a time scale. The obtained results extend the existing ones on any time domain. The set of values of admissible controls is a given closed and convex cone with nonempty interior and vertex at zero or is a subset of containing zero.

Opis:
This paper investigates the notion of practical feedback stabilization of evolution equations satisfying some relaxed conditions in infinite-dimensional Banach spaces. Moreover, sufficient conditions are presented that guarantee practical stabilizability of uncertain systems based on Lyapunov functions. These results are applied to partial differential equations.

Opis:
This article investigates the robust stabilization and control of the inverted pendulum on a cart against disturbances, measure-ment noises, and parametric uncertainties by the LFT-based LPV technique (Linear-Fractional-Transformation based Linear-Parameter-Varying). To make the applying of the LPV technique possible, the LPV representation of the inverted pendulum on a cart model is devel-oped. Besides, the underactuated constraint of this vehicle is overcome by considering both degrees of freedom (the rotational one and the translational one) in the structure. Moreover, the selection of the weighting functions that represent the desired performance is solved by two approaches of evolutionary algorithms; Genetic Algorithms (GA) and Evolutionary Strategies (ES) to find the weighting functions’ optimal parameters. To validate the proposed approach, simulations are performed and they show the effectiveness of the proposed approach to obtain robust controllers against external signals, as well as the parametric uncertainties.

Opis:
The minimum energy control problem for the 2D positive continuous-discrete linear systems is formulated and solved. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the reachability at the point of the systems are given. Sufficient conditions for the existence of solution to the problem are established. It is shown that if the system is reachable then there exists an optimal input that steers the state from zero boundary conditions to given final state and minimizing the performance index for only one step (q = 1). A procedure for solving of the problem is proposed and illustrated by a numerical example.
