Opis:
This article concerns the monitoring of underground water quality in the vicinity of underground water intake, which is carried out continuously (quarterly) in six monitoring wells situated near the water intake. Groundwater occurring in this complex form a continuous and prosperous aquifer exploited with deep- water wells 19A and 19', intended to supply the population of part of Kraków with drinking and industrial water. Operated monitoring wells and holes are set in Czyżyny district in the protection zone of undergro- und water intakes Mistrzejowice. During the field research it were carried 41 quarterly measurements of petroleum substances at ground- water table. These tests were carried out using specialized equipment of Dutch company Eijkelkamp Agri- search Equipment, which can measure thickness of petroleum substances at groundwater table in each monitoring well. During the laboratory studies 41 quarterly measurements were performed. Determination and quantitative analysis of petroleum substances in groundwater samples were made. For laboratory testing methodology Fourier infrared spectroscopy was used. Laboratory studies of oil products in water samples showed the variable contents in each series. The statistical analysis was also done using Shewhart’ s control card.

Opis:
The result of human activity is polluting the soil and water. Based on the results of heavy metals studies it can be stated that the level of contamination of soil and water in urban areas is not high. This image is changing after taking into account other types of pollution. Besides some heavy metal contamination urban areas are contaminated with petroleum. Contamination of oil derivatives has a significant impact on the soil and water environment. In addition, some petroleum substances, such as petrol, have high vapour pressure. This causes a displacement of soil air from the vadose zone through the hydrocarbon gases, which creates a risk of explosion, especially in urban areas. This paper describes the pollution of ground-water oil derivatives in an urban area on the example of an oil filling station, operated for several years. In order to assess the condition of soil, 90 soil samples from different depths and 20 samples of groundwater were taken. Samples were taken for laboratory oil content tests. Using a computer program, a map of quality standards exceedances of soil and groundwater at the oil filling station and its vicinity was created. Results of laboratory tests of water samples are presented in tables and based on them, the classification of the underground water quality was made. Results of this study indicate a significant pollution of soil and groundwater exceeding the applicable standards. Condition of the soil and the quality of underground water in the oil filling station indicate the necessity of reparation.

Opis:
The paper presents the study of various indicators of soil contamination by petroleum substances from the area of active exploitation of oil deposits in the south of Poland. Nineteen studied soil samples were taken directly around the production wells (0–1 m) or their vicinity (1–7 m) at a depth of 0.1 to 0.3 m. Collected samples were tested for the presence of benzene, toluene and xylene (BTX), and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) such as phenanthrene, anthracene, fluoranthene, fluorene, pyrene, benzo(a)anthracene, chrysene, benzo(a)pyrene, dibenz(a,h)anthracene and benzo(g,h,i)perylene. An analysis of the content of these chemical compounds in the soil samples was performed by gas chromatography. The observed results were interpreted to determine the hazard for the natural environment and human health. The evaluation of soil samples was based on the new Regulation of the Ministry of Environment of 1 September 2016 regarding the assessment of contamination of the surface of the earth (Journal of Laws 2016 Nr 0, item 1395) as well as guidelines presented by the Institute of Soil Science and Plant Cultivation (ISSPC).

Thanks realized in 2011 in a wide range of laboratory investigations of adsorption of selected petroleum products in different models of soil author has an extensive set of experimental data. They lead to a series of qualitative and quantitative analysis. They confirm the generally known fact that the intensity of the adsorption of hydrocarbons strongly depends on some features of the oil products (mainly viscosity) and soil (especially grain). It is possible to fit the regression equation using statistical methods, which permits to estimate the adsorption coefficient of different oil products on the basis of parameters describing the granulation of soil. Those obtained equations are characterized by a high degree of suitability to the experimental data and can be successfully used in numerical modeling of hydrocarbon migration in the soil.

Opis:
The paper presents the results of 57 Drill Stem Tests (DST) within the Upper Jurassic carbonate rocks forming the Carpathian Fordeep basement in the area between Bochnia and Ropczyce (south Poland) performed by the Polish Oil and Gas Company in the years 1993 to 1998. Designated prospective horizons were tested with DST for assessing productivity of strata. DST tests were performed mostly in open hole sections of boreholes (more rarely in cased holes) after prior borehole casing perforation operations. In approximately 75% cases the cycle drill stem tests (DST) was used for testing the Upper Jurassic carbonate rocks. On the basis of data and experiences obtained during exploration of the Upper Jurassic carbonate rocks the model of the work-flow decision diagram was elaborated. It may be used for the integrated HC field management and for possible modifications in the drilling and testing technology.

Opis:
W artykule omówiono kwestie związane z wykorzystaniem do oceny efektywności inwestycji w przemyśle naftowym teorii opcji realnych. Przedstawiono przykład wyceny inwestycji za pomocą opcji realnych i skonfrontowano go z analizą przeprowadzoną z wykorzystaniem tradycyjnych metod. Podejmowania decyzji inwestycyjnych to trudne, skomplikowane i odpowiedzialne zadanie.
Paper discusses issues relating to the valuation of investment efficiency in the petroleum industry using a real options theory. The example of investment pricing using real options was depicted and it was confronted with the analysis executed with the use of traditional methods. Indicators commonly used to evaluate profitability of investment projects, based on a discounted cash flow method, have a few significant drawbacks, the most meaningful of which is staticity which means that any changes resulting from a decision process during the time of investment cannot be taken into consideration. In accordance with a methodology that is currently used, investment projects are analysed in a way that all the key decisions are made at the beginning and are irreversible. This approach assumes, that all the cash flows are specified and does not let the fact that during the time of investment there may appear new information, which could change its original form. What is also not analysed is the possibility of readjustment, due to staff managment's decisions, to the current market conditions, by expanding, speeding up/ slowing down, abandoning or changing an outline of the undertaking. In result, traditional methods of investment projects valuation may lead to taking wrong decisions, e.g. giving up an owned exploitation licence or untimely liquidation of boreholes, which seem to be unprofitable. Due to all the above-mentioned there appears the necessity of finding some other methods which would let one make real and adequate estimations about investments in a petroleum industry especially when it comes to unconventional resources extraction. One of the methods which has been recently getting more and more approval in a world petroleum economics, is a real options pricing method. A real option is a right (but not an obligation) to make a decision connected with an investment in a specified time or time interval. According to the method a static model of pricing using DCF is no longer used; an investment project is divided into a series of steps and after each one there is a range of possible investment decisions, technical and organizational issues and all the others called 'real options'. This lets one take many different varieties of modyfiying a strategy while pricing the project. This also makes it possible to react to the changing inner and outer situation and introducing new information while accomplishing the investment project. Owing to those, the decision process is a continuous operation, what is an actual vision of a real investment project management in the petroleum industry.

The paper presents the results of 25 industrial double-cycle drill stem test DST of the Malm carbonate rocks of the Carpathian Foredeep. Designated prospective levels were tested by DST to assess their productivity. DST tests were performed mostly in open hole sections of boreholes and rarely in cased hole - after earlier borehole casing perforations. Probes used American Standard company Halliburton and Baker Inflatable type. During testing of Malm reservoir rocks in approximately 75% was used double-cycle drill stem test DST. Due to renewed interest of the Polish Oil and Gas Company in petroleum prospection of Malm sediments, it is appropriate to use in the petroleum exploration results obtained thus far from industrial research double cycle DST reservoir testing. This provides, among others to modification of drilling technology and to sampling of Malm sediments in the planned boreholes.

The result and interpretation of reservoir tests (DST) are presented in the paper. They were performed in 20 intervals of 17 production wells in years 1995-1997. These wells are located in the Central Carpathians (flysch sand beds) and mainly in the external and internal Carpathian Foredeep (the autochthonous and allochthonous Miocene thin bedded sandstones) and their substratum (mainly carbonates). The basies of the theoretical diagnoses for determining the main types of drainage zones or limits of hydrocarbon accumulations are presented in the form of a short description of the Kappa Company's programmatic procedure (Saphir 202B system). Some diagnostic diagrams for the main reservoir border models are described using the log-log method. Examples of their geological interpretation are also provided.

Opis:
W artykule przedstawiono wyniki analizy statystycznej zależności przepuszczalności efektywnej (KDST) od porowatości Phi/geof.) w celu oceny zmian właściwości zbiornikowych górnojurajskich skał węglanowych, występujących w podłożu centralnej części zapadliska przedkarpackiego, w strefie Bochnia - Dębica - Mędrzechów. Analizę przeprowadzono wykorzystując wyselekcjonowane dane uzyskane z pomiarów geofizyki wiertniczej oraz wyników testów złożowych rurowymi próbnikami złoża (RPZ). Metodą analizy statystycznej wyznaczono odpowiednie równanie regresji w postaci: log KDST = -0,142 + 0,178 x Phi/geof. mogące być przydatne do prognozowania współczynnika przepuszczalności efektywnej na podstawie wielkości współczynnika porowatości dla węglanowych skał górnej jury podłoża zapadliska przedkarpackiego.
In the paper reservoir properties - effective permeability (K/DST) and porosity Phi/geof.) of the Upper Jurassic carbonate reservoir rocks were analyzed. Data of the permeability from DST and porosity from well logging were used to determine the relationship between them by statistic methods. On the basis of analysis's results the equation as log K/DST = -0.142 + 0.178 x Phi/geof. was established for oil and gas bearing Upper Jurassic carbonate formation in central part of the Carpathian Foredeep basement (in the area: Bochnia - Dębica - Mędrzechów).
