Opis:
Pope John Paul II was a prophet of our age. As a leader of the Catholic Church, with a respect for a Tradition, he continued some ideas about dialog with Islam according documents of II Vatican Council, especially constitution Lumen gentium and declaration Nostra aetate. From the other way Pope was a precursor of dialog with Muslim world, because of circumstances which are always new. The main merit of Pope’s apostolic mission in this case was a fact, that John Paul II was able to put theory in practice. A declaration of dialog he tried to make real. He touched Muslim world not only in a paper (declarations, homilies, speeches), but he experienced a spirit of Islam in hearts of Muslim’s he met during his pilgrimages and meetings in Vatican. In the article we have a presentation of all Pope’s activities which built dialog with Islam.

Christians, following their master and teacher Jesus Christ who healed the deaf-and-dumb, ought to treat deaf and dumb people with great respect. They deserve to be in the limelight of christian communities as the issue of their participation in spiritual goods of Church was raised. In this article I want to present the attitude of Church to the deaf-and-dumb, then on the basis of some documents I would like to show the necessity of catechisation of the mentioned group of people. Thruogh its actions, contemporary Church wants to show that the poor, the sick and the disabled are the privileged addressees of the divine message that entered the human history.

Opis:
The author is aiming to show how far K. Wojtyła – John Paul II – was involved in the historical events of the world. As pope, he took on responsibility not only for the Church, but also for the whole of humankind. The large extent of his pastoral activity, his worldwide visits and his personal contact with many people gave him the opportunity to approach the true nature of the social, political and spiritual dramas of the world. It is interesting to see this approach from the perspective of the dramatic dimension of his personal life, his private experience of loneliness, suffering and death. This paper offers an existential and personalistic analysis provided by the classical playwrights Calderón de la Barca and William Shakespeare, the philosophers of dramatic theatre Henri Gouhier and the theologian of the drama of God and man Hans Urs von Balthasar. The idea of a global theatre – theatrum mundi – and the theatre of God – theatrum Dei – played an essential role in the life of Pope John Paul II, unless he never wanted to be associated with acting. His role and his mission were in complete coexistence in his one person. If anybody wanted to see him as an actor, he should see him as an actor of God’s theatre, playing roles of the theatre of humankind. In doing this he was able to reach the essential meaning of different kinds of human dramas, to bring them to the light of hope, of God’s mercy and love.

Human freedom is an extraordinary gift of God. It is intrinsically related to the truth and dignity of the human person created in God’s image. Freedom is a sign of God’s love for man and must be used properly. To understand the meaning of freedom, though requiring effort, will always bear much fruit. In fact, this understanding determines our moral life. Unfortunately, in contemporary society the essential bond between truth, the good and freedom has been largely lost or ignored. Yet, using and understanding this freedom is the primary task of every human being. Arriving at authentic freedom can be difficult because it depends upon fidelity to truth and love. The response to this nexus of freedom to truth and morality to faith is the essential form of every Christian vocation.

Opis:
The civilization of love is integral, anthropocentric and conceivable in order to explore more entirely visions of a “new world”. The moral and religious expression of man’s life discovers in this image its profound harmony in the personal structure built on the plan of real interpretation of the fact of humanity. The fundamental expression of this is the priority of the person over things. Today there is a great danger of not noticing this truth. However there is also a need to recognize the priority of ethics over technology, because the achievements in this area seem to suggest that everything that is plausible should have the possibility of implementation. The fundamental sign for the civilization of love is the primacy of “essere” over “avere”“Essere” before “avere” affects human and cultural expectations that are unfortunately denied by materialism, trends in the economy and consumerism. Only Christianity as the first showed the primacy of charity over justice, drawing on the truth of God revealed in Christ. It is a principle which places great demands in life, especially in interpersonal relationships. This is one of the most human principles, which bears witness to personal greatness of each man. The civilization of love remains as a challenge for today’s Europe, which seems to reject and abandon values departing from its roots.

In article I present the phenomenon of fear of technology. Media education helps to overcome the technological concerns of humanity. Technology does not determine us, but we need “three fundamental options: formation, participation and dialogue”. This is the last apostolic letter of John Paul II. He started and he ended His pontificate, saying: do not be afraid.

The phenomenon of migration exists not only in the realm of speculation at the turn of the century or demagogy with a certain dose of decadency or pessimism but also it is grasped by the prophetic mission of the Church, which observes and analyses signs of our times simultaneously demanding the answers adequate to the human conditions and situations which constantly change. Diagnosing human mass movements, the roots and consequences of mobility of thousands of nomads, the defining of human journey to the oasis – the place of meeting, hospitality, opportunity for personality development with possibility of remaining different among numerous races, cultures and religions is a reason to make brave decisions. The contemporary exodus has reached catastrophic proportions and hence it has become a huge problem for those in power and the entire societies including the Church within the global dimension.John Paul’s thought immortalised in the papal documents, based on his own historical experience and careful analysis of the current affairs, is still an inspiration to many discussions that lead to concrete decisive steps toward defining social identity. A migrant’s problem will be solved, notes the Pope, when people become brothers and sisters, and when love will become the strength to change. For us, the contemporary “watchmen for daybreak”, creators of open societies based on solidarity achieving this goal is a duty.

Opis:
War is the most barbaric and the least effective means of conflict solution. That is why in recent years various international organizations have intensified their efforts to determine the status of a right of peace and the ways of implementing it. Peace is one of the basic values of solidarity, freedom, and justice that determines human behaviour. It guarantees all rights and freedom. However, it is debatable whether the mere ratification of the right of peace is enough to exercise it. It is necessary to undertake a number of actions aimed at eliminating threats to protect this value. These issues are complex but very important for every person, state, and for the whole human community. The idea of peace also had a significant place in the social teaching of the Church, which is evidenced in Pius XII’s and Jan XXIII’s teaching. Since the beginning of his papacy John Paul II put forth a lot of effort in defending the world peace. This is particularly reflected in his annual messages for World Peace Day. The construction of the peace concept in the teaching of John Paul II covers four pillars, which can be found in the concept of John XXIII and which are laid out by him in the encyclical Pacem in terris. These are: truth, freedom, justice, solidarity. Both in the legal doctrine and the statements of the Fathers of the Church, peace is a guarantee of human dignity. Therefore, it is the duty of everyone, the entire international community to take action in order to prevent conflicts and create life based on truth, freedom, and justice.

Opis:
The author tries to answer the question whether, according to St Louis Grignion de Montfort, Mary has power over demons and evil and can protect people from it. Saint Louis presents Mary as the Brave Helmswoman who resists evil and defends the Christian people. Through her living faith, her bond with the Church and the maternal mission of her Alma Mater, she also takes an active part in the work of amusement and supports those who take up arms against evil. The author notes that Mary’s role in fighting evil and helping humanity is active. Mary is constantly ready to help her children. Many Saints over the years confirm this truth, and a particular emphasis on the timeline is the figure of Saint Louis, in whose texts we can read his position confirming this thesis.

John Paul II mentioned that Martin Luther’s proclamation gave rise to the reformation and became the cause of breakages and divisions in the Church, but (despite everything) “the belief in the Crucified and Resurrected Christ remains as a common denominator of Christians of the reformation times. They differed in relation to the Church and Rome but they did not reject the truth about the Resurrection”. This truth particularly characterized the actions of people on the Polish political scene in the Jagiellonian period. This truth even now unites Christians and Christians who act together stand a chance to demonstrate to the contemporary world that evil can and should be overcome by good but they must, like Elijah, conquer disappointment and despair and to hear God’s command: “Get up, eat as there is a long way ahead of you”. Catholics and Protestants have already overcome many obstacles on their way to reconciliation but perhaps the tradition of Polish Christianity, its Jagiellonian dimension will point out new areas of dialogue.

A family is a part of God’s salvation plan. Mutual love is crucial in marriage. The unity between a husband and wife should help to deal with everyday problems. Thus, the family unity becomes a source of community. A family is the place where spiritual life develops. It is possible if they listen to Christ’s teaching. Education for love in a family prepares their members to accept further responsibilities in a society It can be done thanks to experiencing Christ in a family, just like Mary in subordination to God and in continuous development of spiritual growth.
