Opis:
Massive emissions of CO2 into the atmosphere are the most direct reason causing global warming and climate change, so more and more countries are starting to focus on carbon abatement technologies. In recent years, the method GCS (Geological Carbon Storage), injecting the CO2 in a supercritical state underground for storage, is considered the most effective way to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Saline aquifers are given special attention because of its huge amount of storage and, therefore, a deep saline aquifer is the best choice for the storage of CO2. Exemplified by the well-explored Konary structure in the Polish Lowlands, results of assessments of CO2 storage capacity are compared for three cases: (1) a simplified formula based on averaged geological and reservoir parameters and (2) a model of the structure based on averaged geological and reservoir parameters (homogeneous model) and (3) a model of the structure with more detailed geological data (including those on clay interbeds in the sandstone series of the reservoir horizon – heterogeneous model). This allows the estimation of how providing of details of geological and reservoir data, introduced into the model, can affect the ability of CO2 migration within a reservoir horizon intended for CO2 storage, and, consequently, also obtain a more accurate assessment of the capacity that the structure is capable of attaining.

In conditions of changeable environment business management is subjected to numerous influences of various factors which must find their position in the business entity, so that it can be competitive with other entities, market participants. The competitiveness and the natural environment are some of the areas of the development of the enterprise. One does not exclude the other, on the contrary they constitute a coherent whole. The aim of this paper is to present the importance of eco‑developmental awareness in the competitiveness of soft enterprises. The first thesis asserts that the eco‑developmental awareness is shaped through soft factors and hard factors. The second thesis states that the eco‑developmental awareness is a storage factor and a permeation factor of the soft competitiveness of enterprises which in turn results in the formation of the soft competitiveness of sustainable development of enterprises and behavioral eco‑developmental competitive advantage.

The urgency of environmental protection is determined by its intensive change because of human impact, which, among other things, accompanied by an increasing of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. One of the ways to reduce the emission is Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) technologies. To date, developed countries have successfully implemented a number of CCS demonstration projects. Their main purpose is to study the effectiveness of CO2 storage. Russia is one of the world’s largest producers of CO2 emissions. However, CO2 capture and storage issues are not studied by Russian enterprises due to the absence of environmental taxes. The experience of developed countries shows that CO2 storage projects, in addition to the reduction of anthropogenic impact, can be commercially effective not only by reducing the tax burden. This review presents the analysis of international experience in the field of CO2 capture and storage. Given the immaturity of technology and lack of the necessary volume of statistical data, it was an attempt to determine the minimum conditions, which permit the implementation of CCS projects in Russian oil fields. On the basis of the Russian development forecast and the fuel balance structure the volumes of CO2 emissions in the 2016–2030 years were calculated. According to significant difference in opinions about the feasibility of CCS implementation in Russia, this review presents the main arguments for and against such projects. Evaluation of the potential effectiveness of CCS projects to enhance oil recovery factor showed that in spite of the absence of CO2 emissions taxes, such projects could be commercially effective in Russia due to the increase in oil recovery.

Natural fiber polymer composites are gaining focus as low cost and light weight composite material due to the availability and ecofriendly nature of the natural fiber. Fiber composites are widely used in civil engineering, marine and aerospace industries where dynamic loads and environmental loads persist. Dynamic analysis of these composites under different loading and environmental conditions is essential before their usage. The present study focuses on the dynamic behavior of areca nut husk reinforced epoxy composites under different loading frequencies (5 Hz, 10 Hz and 15 Hz) and different temperatures (ranging from 28◦C to 120◦C). The effect of loading and temperature on storage modulus, loss modulus and glass transition temperature was analyzed. Increase in storage modulus is observed with increase in loading frequency. The storage modulus decreases with increase in temperature. The glass transition temperature of the composite is determined to be 105◦C. The elastic modulus calculated from the DMA data is compared with three point bending test

Opis:
The paper covers research on physiographic features and anthropogenic factors influence on natural pond water storage. The problem was investigated both at the level of the Dopływ spod Nowej Wsi catchment (27.53 km2) and the smaller spatial unit Bagna Ramuckie natural pond (12.4 ha). Dynamics of physiographic features, changes of hydrographical network and anthropogenic factors including water, land and forest management practices were investigated. The decisive factor modulating processes of water storage rebuilding for investigated spatial units seems to be dynamics and long-term directional changes of air temperature. Rebuilding of pond water storage occurred after a 40-year period of air temperature decrease and the decline of water storage after a 20-year period of air temperature increase. Precipitation had minor significance in modulating pond water storage in long-term periods, because lack of long-term precipitation trends in analysed period. Although in short-term periods precipitation have important modulating impact on a decline of pond storage. The decline occurred after the dry period from 1989 to 1995 as a result of high deficit of climatic water balance. Spectacular rebuilding of pond water storage occurred in Bagna Ramuckie after the cold and wet period from 1956 to 1965. Non-climatic physiographic features and anthropogenic factors did not influence the processes of pond water storage rebuilding and decline because both of these factors seemed to be stationary over at least eight decades of 20th century, while processes of storage rebuilding or decline lasted over the investigated spatial unit.

Opis:
The evaluation of physical and dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) properties was carried out on a developed Coconut Husk Ash Reinforced Polymer Composite. Sieve analysis of pretreated coconut husk ash was done to obtain 75 μm, 150 μm and 300 μm particles sizes. These particles were used at varying compositions of 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% and 25% as reinforcements for polyester composites. The catalyst and accelerator used were Methyl Ethyl Ketone Peroxide and Cobalt Naphthenate respectively. The densities of the evaluated composites made with 150 μm particles were found to be less dense with values ranging from 0.9792 g/cm3 to 1.2561 g/cm3 than those made with 75 μm and 300 μm. The results also show that the percentage water absorbed by samples increased, ranging from 0 to over 2000 E’/MPa for all percentage reinforcements of coconut husk ash, with an increase in the duration of immersion of the samples in distilled water. However, 25% reinforcement had better results for all particle sizes. There were obvious variations of storage modulus, loss modulus and mechanical loss factor with percentage weight of reinforcement, temperature and frequency. The composite with 15%reinforcement displayed better results. The composite shows promising results as a material for interior components in aerospace and automobile industries.
