Opis:
The research of railway track surfaces is aimed at improving the quality of railway infrastructure and providing the chance of improving the safety of driving. Therefore, it is advisable to constantly monitor track surface, but the research itself is not innovative because it is based on a known procedure. The crucial element are the techniques that allow to delve into the sources of problems. The aim of the article is to use the selected instruments of quality management to analyze the causes of track twist at high (180 km/h) speed of driving. The analysis of the causes of track twist was done on the basis of results from the measurement of one kilometer track section of the Krakow Glowny - Medyka route, which was made by using the TEC measuring device in April 2018. It was inferred that it is impossible to reach 180 km/h without track twist. In order to identify the causes of track twist it was proposed to use the selected sequence of quality management instruments, i.e.: brainstorming, Ishikawa diagram and the 5Why method. The identified causes of track twist include the abrasion of rail, scratches and exploitation point. The analysis and conclusions drawn from it may be useful in the analysis of other problems in railway transport as well as production and service industries.

W celu poprawy konkurencyjności transportu kolejowego w stosunku do transportu samochodowego i lotniczego, rozwijane są linie dla kolei dużych prędkości, które cechuje m.in. wysoka jakość zabudowy toru, a w szczególności rozjazdów. Dbając o spełnienie wysokich wymagań, a głównie ze względu na bezpieczeństwo, przystępuje się do projektowania specjalistycznych systemów transportowych w procesie załadunku, logistyki, wyładunku i zabudowy rozjazdów w liniach kolejowych. W artykule przedstawiono wykorzystywane obecnie na polskim rynku technologie zabudowy rozjazdów kolejowych. Sprecyzowano wynikające z błędnej technologii zabudowy zagrożenia i ryzyka. Przedstawiono zarys założeń do zaprojektowania nowatorskiej, kompleksowej technologii produkcji transportu i zabudowy rozjazdów kolejowych.
The high-speed lines are developed in order to improve railway transport competitiveness in relation to road transport and air transport. The high-speed lines characterize high quality railway track and particularly turnouts. Caring for the fulfilment of high expectations, mainly because of the safety of the rail transport, we proceed to design of specialized transport systems in the process of loading, logistics, unloading and installation of railway turnouts in railway lines. The currently used technologies in the Polish turnouts market have been resented in the article. The threats and risks due to incorrect technology are clarified. The outlines of assumptions for design of comprehensive and innovative transport production technology and for building of railroad turnouts have been presented.

The study presents the organization, mechanization and technology in the field of modernization and maintenance of Polish National Railway (PKP) lines, as well as in relation to the activities of the DOLKOM- Wroclaw company. Attention has been drawn to the major overhaul technology (resurfacing), the exchange of switches, surface maintenance and repair of the rail-bed (subgrade). The technological requirements, regarding the renovation and modernization of surface and rail-bed in the PKP railway network, have been discussed. In the field of rail-bed renovation, attention has been focused on the process of technological modernization of the track using a specialized multifunctional machine AHM-800R.

The study concerns the possibility of using the Neo4j database as a graph analysis tool. The analysis was presented on the example of the railway connection network assessment when designing a new version of the railway infrastructure in the Silesian Voivodeship. The authors present the concepts of a laboratory environment built on the basis of the Neo4j database, and an application that allows obtaining data and modifying the railway infrastructure model. Thanks to this, it is possible to simulate many variants of the designed model and its evaluation using the proposed measurement indicators. The study presents methods and tools of analysis that can be successfully used to assess the topology of a graph in many different research areas, such as analysis of management systems, computer networks or biological systems.

[...]Zbadano rozmieszczenie infrastruktury terminalowej i magazynowej względem siebie oraz kierunki i główne szlaki kolejowe przewozów intermodalnych. W Polsce funkcjonowało zaledwie kilka multimodalnych centrów logistycznych, natomiast na rynku powierzchni magazynowych dominowali deweloperzy przemysłowi, którzy posiadali w 2012 r. obiekty w 150 lokalizacjach. Około połowa z nich znajdowała się w pobliżu terminala kontenerowego, a 15% posiadało własną bocznicę kolejową. Infrastruktura logistyczna skoncentrowana była przede wszystkim w konurbacji górnośląskiej, aglomeracji warszawskiej i w jej sąsiedztwie, aglomeracji wrocławskiej oraz w centralnej Polsce. Kolejowe przewozy intermodalne intensywnie rozwijały sią między portami morskimi a terminalami lądowymi w Polsce. W mniejszym stopniu kolej obsługiwała transport intermodalny z Polski w kierunku wschodnim (Rosja, Ukraina, Chiny).[...]
The paper analyses the distribution of terminal and storage infrastructure relative to each other as well as directions and major railway routes of intermodal carriage. There were only a few multimodal logistics centres operating in Poland. The warehouse market was dominated by industrial developers, which in 2012 had their facilities in 150 locations. Approximately a half of those centres were located at a short distance from the nearest container terminal and 15% had their own railway sidings. Logistics infrastructure were concentrated primarily in the Upper Silesian conurbation, Warsaw metropolitan area, Wroclaw agglomeration and central Poland. Railway intermodal transport intensively developed between seaports and inland terminals in Poland. In a lesser extent rail connection served intermodal transport from Poland to east (Russia, Ukraine, China).

Dynamiczny rozwój współczesnych miast pociąga za sobą problemy gospodarcze, społeczne, kulturowe i ekologiczne. Remedium na te zjawiska jest sprawna obsługa logistyczna mieszkańców. Jest to system organizacji przemieszczeń, który ogra - nicza negatywne zjawiska i jednocześnie zwiększa satysfakcję użyt - kowników z oferowanej im mobilności. Celem artykułu jest analiza efektywnych rozwiązań obsługi logistycznej mieszkańców miast w zakresie transportu szynowego. Kolej stanowi szkielet systemu komunikacyjnego aglomeracji, a jednocześnie jest gałęzią transportu, którą cechują niskie koszty zewnętrzne. W artykule omówiono podstawowe uwarunkowania funkcjonowa nia kolei aglomeracyjnych w Polsce, w tym ich silne i słabe strony, oraz przeanalizowano wykorzystanie lekkiej kolei w obsłudze transportowej mieszkańców wybranych aglomeracji europejskich.
The dynamic development of modern cities entails economic, social, cultural and ecological problems. Pollution emissions, noise, traffic accidents and congestion are typical negative environmental and social phenomena. The effective logistics service of the inhabitants is a remedy to these phenomena. It is a system of transport organization which reduces negative phenomena and at the same time increases satisfaction of users with the mobility offered to them. The aim of this article is the analysis of the effective solutions of logistics services of the urban inhabitants in the field of rail transport. The railway constitutes the backbone of the communication system of the agglomeration, and at the same time it is a branch of transport characterized by low external costs. The article discusses the basic conditions of the functioning of the agglomeration railway in Poland, including the strengths and weaknesses, and analyses the use of light railway in the transport service of the inhabitants of selected European agglomerations.

Od kilku lat węgiel pochodzący z importu jest stałym elementem na rynku polskim. Tym bardziej - w świetle nadpodaży rodzimego surowca - wzbudza to niepokój wśród krajowych producentów. W artykule zaprezentowano uwarunkowania logistyczne importu węgla do Polski. Węgiel sprowadzany jest przede wszystkim koleją oraz w mniejszym stopniu drogą morską. W przypadku importu kolejowego istotnymi elementami wpływającymi na jego logistykę będą zdolności przeładunkowe przejść granicznych (w tym: terminali przeładunkowych) oraz stan techniczny linii kolejowych. W artykule omówiono modernizacje prowadzone na głównych przejściach kolejowych. Zaprezentowano również główne inwestycje kolejowe istotne dla przewozów węgla. Dotyczą one budowy, modernizacji i rewitalizacji linii kolejowych, budowy mostów i wiaduktów kolejowych, a także modernizacji infrastruktury kolejowej. W przypadku importu morskiego skupiono się na inwestycjach prowadzonych w czterech portach morskich: Gdańsku, Gdyni, Szczecinie i Swinouj ściu. Prace wiążą się z pogłębianiem torów wodnych, budową odpowiedniej infrastruktury drogowej, kolejowej, magazynowej i transportowej. Zwrócono uwagę na budowę Terminalu Suchych Ładunków Masowych w Porcie Gdańsk. Docelowe zdolności przeładunkowe tego terminalu mają wynieść sześć mln ton w relacji importowej. Według szacunków łączne zdolności przeładunkowe węgla w relacji importowej wynoszą około trzynastu-czternastu milionów ton/rok.
For several years, imported coal has regularly entered the Polish coal market. In light of the oversupply of domestic coal in Poland, the imported coal was still available in domestic market. The situation has caused concern among Polish coal producers. This paper presents logistical considerations for Polish coal imports. Imported coal to Poland is mainly transported by rail (about three quarters), with the remainder coming by sea. In the case of imports by rail, essential elements of the supply chain are the coal transshipment capacity at border crossings (including railway handling terminals) and the condition of the railway lines. The article goes on to describe the modernization processes of the main railway crossings, outlining the main railway investments essential for the transportation of coal. These concern the construction, modernization, and revitalization of the railway lines; the construction of bridges and railway viaducts; as well as the modernization of other railway infrastructure. In the case of imports by sea, the analysis focuses on investments held at four ports - Gdańsk, Gdynia, Szczecin, and Świnoujście. Key operations concern the deepening of the waterways and the construction of the needed road, rail, storage, and transportation infrastructure. Attention was paid to the construction of the Dry Bulk Terminal (Terminal Suchych Ładunków Masowych) at the Port of Gdańsk. The target handling capacity of the terminal is expected to be six million tonnes in import relationships. According to estimates of the total coal handling capacity, relative imports could amount to around 13-14 million tons.

Wzrost udziału kontenerów w wymianie towarowej było jedną z głównych przyczyn rozwoju intermodalnej sieci transportowej. W Polsce rozwój transportu intermodalnego jest stały, aczkolwiek powolny. Gęstość terminali intermodalnych oraz stan kolejowej infrastruktury liniowej są niezadowalające. Jednym z warunków rozwoju transportu intermodalnego w Polsce jest poprawa dostępu do intermodalnej sieci transportowej i logistycznej, w tym poprawa stanu technicznego infrastruktury liniowej. Jednym z największych i niewątpliwie najprężniej rozwijających się terminalem intermodalnym jest Deepwater Container Terminal w Gdańsku. DCT Gdańsk aktywizuje udział transportu morskiego oraz w dużym stopniu transportu kolejowego. Dzięki połączeniom z terminalami w głębi lądu jest punktem wymiany towarowej między Dalekim Wschodem, a Europą Północno-Wschodnią. W artykule zostaną przedstawione możliwe działania pozwalające na wzrost udziału transportu intermodalnego w Polsce w stosunku do ogółu transportowanych towarów.
Intermodal transportation is becoming more and more willingly used in the goods supply chain in view of its specific, flexible characteristics. In Poland, intermodal transportation is based primarily on land-sea and rail-road transportation, using mostly containers. The most frequently used containers in 2017 were the 40-feet containers which accounted for over 57% of all containers transported. Contribution of the railway transportation in intermodal transportation is increasing every year. Despite the slow growth, both, planned as well as already carried out investments in intermodal terminals, indicate continuous growing pattern. Many operators strive to improve the technical condition of nodal and linear infrastructure that leads to raising the quality of services provided. Large number of investments aimed at improving the functioning of intermodal transportation in Poland are made by PKP PLK S.A which is the conductor rail operator. The most important of them include improvement of the railway lines technical condition of the major routes, that would increase the average operational speed. The largest intermodal terminal in Poland is the DCT Gdańsk located in the Northern Port in Gdańsk. The annual transshipment ability of the terminal after the investments made is set at 3 million TEU. The terminal is connected with the hinterland by road and rail connections. Due to high quality technical equipment it is able to serve up to 9 trains a day which adds up to almost 300 trains per month. It provides railway connection to almost all overland intermodal terminals in the country. DCT Gdańsk gladly invests in development of the railway transportation and endeavour to achieve rail system development not only at the terminal, but also throughout Poland.

The volume of passenger and freight transport on a given railway line depends on many socio-economic factors. Therefore, before starting an investment on a railway line, various analyses are carried out regarding the choice of the line and the scope of works. This article presents the calculation of weights determining the impact of specific socio-economic factors on the volume of rail passenger and freight transport using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. Thereafter, a comparison was made of 12 railway lines located in various regions of Poland in terms of their use in both passenger and freight transport. Half of the analysed railway lines are main lines, while the other part are local lines. The comparison made it possible to arrange the selected lines regardless of their category.

Opis:
Relevance of the study: As the experience of advanced countries shows, the development of the economy in our country, in particular, in the transportation services market, is associated with the development of interaction between all types of transport. Thus, in modern conditions, for the growth of the role of railway transport, multimodal transportation, which is important for the interaction of Ukraine with the countries of Europe and the East, is becoming important and will also help minimize costs and preserve the environment. Therefore, the issues of evaluating the introduction of multimodal transportation with logistic principles are discussed in the article. It is shown how to determine the marginal substitution rate in the conveyance type while using various modes of transport, based on the utility function and transportation costs. Purpose of the study: The purpose of the article is to develop measures to improve the functioning of parts in multimodal freight delivery routes by minimizing transportation costs, taking into account quality indicators. For this purpose, the following tasks have been set and are being solved: to develop a model for evaluating the efficiency of using different modes of transport with optimal costs; to choose a method for estimating the optimal delivery route and freight volumes; to evaluate the efficiency of transportation technology based on a qualimetric indicator. Approaches: An approach to a comprehensive evaluation of the effect from the activities of transport enterprises in multimodal transportation based on cost optimization, with the qualimetric indicator, and aimed at maximizing the satisfaction of shippers' requirements is offered when determining the route of such transportation parameters as the cost and the quality of freight delivery. Results: The results of the theoretical generalization and analysis of approaches to the formalization of the functioning process in multimodal transportation systems for the delivery of goods by rail and road modes of transport are presented in the article. The significance of the results. The materials in the article are of practical value for employees of transport and logistics companies and enterprises, scientists, and pedagogical workers to improve their professional level.

Opis:
The role of railway network in the internal passenger and heavy traffic is continuously decreasing. Regarding the number of passengers, proportion of the railway out of the internal passenger transport was more than 20% less in 2000. The railway passenger transportation suffered a setback in shorter distances in the last decades. In case of railway transportation of goods both the carriage distance and the quantity of goods have decreased. Content of the load has changed, too. Comparing to the previous one, quantity of the transported building materials, metal waste, ores and coal etc. lessened. In contrast with it proportion of agricultural products, machines has increased. It is worth examining the changes in connection with the passenger and heavy traffic in the last few years not only in country level but in the level of several settlements, as well. In settlements’ life a transportation route of the infrastructural sphere plays an important role. In this essay it is aiming to examine the changes in railway traffic of town Mezohegyes, a settlement on the Southern part of the Hungarian Plain, between 1990 and 2006. Research work of this kind has been carried out about town Mezohegyes earlier.
Rola sieci kolejowej w wewnętrznym ruchu pasażerskim, nawet biorąc pod uwagę duży ruch uliczny ciągle maleje. Zależnie od liczby pasażerów proporcje ruchu kolejowego w stosunku do zewnętrznego transportu pasażerskiego były o 20% mniejsze niż w roku 2000. Kolejowy transport pasażerski cierpiał z powodu regresu popularności w ostatnich dekadach, szczególnie na krótkich dystansach. W przypadku kolejowego transportu towarów, zarówno odległości przewozów jak i ilości towarów zmalały. Zawartość ładunków także się zmieniła. W porównaniu do wcześniejszych typów ładunków ilość materiałów budowlanych, złomu, rud oraz węgla zmalała. Wzrosła natomiast ilość transportowanych tą drogą produktów rolnych oraz maszyn. Warto, więc przeanalizować zmiany w ruchu pasażerskim oraz w transporcie ciężkim w ostatnich latach nie tylko na poziomie krajowym, ale i na poziomie kilku obszarów zaludnionych. W funkcjonowaniu danego obszaru, sfera infrastruktury pełni ważną rolę. W niniejszej pracy celem jest analiza zmian ruchu kolejowego w mieście Mezohegves, miejscowości w południowej części Niziny Węgierskiej w latach od 1990 do 2006. Badania tego typu zostały przeprowadzone w odniesieniu do tego miasta już wcześniej.

W Wojskowej Akademii Technicznej w Katedrze Mechaniki i Informatyki Stosowanej opracowano projekt prototypowej wersji wagonu do przewozu kombinowanego z obrotową platformą niskopodłogową, która stwarza możliwość łatwego i szybkiego autonomicznego załadunku, a następnie przewozu i autonomicznego rozładunku naczep samochodów ciężarowych typu TIR bez konieczności inwestowania w rozwój infrastruktury dodatkowej (szczególnie peronu). Konstrukcja ta może być używana także do transportu różnego typu pojazdów, takich jak ciągniki, ciężarówki, przyczepy, kontenery, ciężki sprzęt. W pracy przedstawiono modyfikacje konstrukcyjne, które wykonano w odniesieniu do wersji pierwotnej wagonu. Opisano także założenia logistyczne w zakresie rampy peronu i dotyczące organizacji ruchu samochodów ciężarowych, załadunku oraz rozładunku naczep. Przedstawiono budowę peronu oraz jego elementy składowe.
A prototype model of a wagon with a low rotating floor for combined transport was designed at the Department of Mechanics and Applied Computer Science, Military University of Technology. The designed wagon allows for easy and fast independent loading and then transportation, and independent unloading of semitrailers of truck type vehicles without investing in the development of spare infrastructure, such as a platform. The construction may be also utilised for the transport of various types of vehicles, such as tractors, trucks, trailers, containers and heavy equipment. The paper presents constructional modifications which were carried out in respect to the original model of the construction. It also discusses logistic assumptions concerning both the loading and unloading of semitrailers as well as the organisation of truck traffic in the area of the platform. The construction of the platform and its elements are presented.
