    The author presents a considered theoretical and methodological background of anthropological research on stereotypes and prejudice. As an ethnologist and psychologist, he deliberates on both anthropological and psychological approach to the subject and shows the gaps in current methodological concepts. He proposes the set of questions for the questionnaire survey, which, in his opinion, seems to be adequate and describes the project that he plans to realize providing an example of the Romani people in the Czech Republic.

    Opis:
    Nursing care is limited not only to fulfil biological needs of a patient, but also to fulfil psychological, social and spiritual needs of the dying patient. It is necessary to get, at least for a while, to a certain resonance with the patient, which can carry their mutual commu- nication. Psychological approach to the patient has to include respect and natural reverence, regardless of his (her) age, status or profession. At each stage of dying patient behaves differently and a nurse has to accept his (her) behavior. The nurse can provide a psychosocial support by a permanent contact of a significant person with the patient.

    Aim. The study purpose is to explain the value-targeted predictors of future journalists’ life-creation as an indicator of their readiness for professional growth and fulfilment of their humanitarian mission.  Methods. The study used the methods of theoretical analysis, synthesis and modelling of the process of personality realization. The empirical study on the value-target factors of future journalists’ life-creation consisted of two stages: 1) the selection of relevant psychological examining techniques in order to explain the value-target factors as a complex independent variable, on the one hand, and the corresponding features of the life implementation process as characteristics (partial and generalized) of a dependent variable, on the other hand (a total of 12 psychodiagnostic techniques were used); 2) the correlation and factor analyses of the obtained empirical data. Results. The performed factor analysis revealed several factors related to particular modes of life implementation, an individual’s certain subjective position in this mode or on the way to it, psychological mechanisms and predictors of becoming an Insider, Expert or Author in personal life, some of their important attributes that generally confirm the triangulation model of an individual’s life implementation. The first one, “An Author – a life-creating agent in the integrative mode of life implementation”, is the most informative and the most loaded by the following indicators: life meaningfulness and purpose in life, psychological well-being, existential fullness with life meaning, self-control and self-acceptance, activity, locus of control-life, etc.   Conclusions. The article presents the verification of the triangulation psychological-hermeneutic model of a life-implementation process, which is formed by orthogonal vectors: one of them is intuitive-sensory comprehension and designing and the second is discursive-logical goal-setting and achievement of life aspirations by an individual. The performed factor analysis of the value-target factors of future journalists’ life-creation revealed the relevant predictors of life implementation. They concerned such concepts as an individual’s life position (a Reader and an Author, an Observer and an Insider, an Epigone and an Expert); the trajectory of their life, for example, from an Insider to an Author, or from an Epigone to en Expert; and psychological mechanisms of life implementation (reflection, intuition, anticipation, empathy, facilitation, etc.) in certain life-implementation modes (internal, external and integrative).

    Psychological assessment has long been reported as a key component of clinical psychology. This paper examined and shed light on the complexities surrounding the clinical significance of therapeutic approach to treatment Planning. To achieve this objective, the paper searched and used the PsycINFO and PubMed databases and the reference sections of chapters and journal articles to analysed the underlying themes: 1) a strong basis for the usage of therapeutic approach to psychological assessment in treatment plans, 2) explained the conceptual meaning of clinical significant change in therapeutic assessment, 3) used initial theory to explain the therapeutic mechanisms of change in clinical practice, 4) analysed the empirically documenting clinically significant change in therapeutic assessment. Finally, the study suggested that though therapeutic assessment is not sufficient for the systematic study of psychotherapy outcome and process, it is still consistent with both the lay-man and professional expectations regarding treatment outcome and also provides a precise method for classifying clients as “changed” or “unchanged” on the basis of clinical significance criteria.

    In the current paper chosen interrelations of psychoanalysis and scientific research are presented. The main focus of the study was on the significance of psychoanalytic inspiration in conducting research interviews, creating the conditions of data gathering (projective situation), and drawing on interpersonal relationship between an interviewer and an interviewee. As a result of qualitative research literature review, three areas of the interview development were proposed: 1) to go beyond simple verbatim transcript (to collect non-verbal information as a source of emotional-relational aspect of the interviewee’s speech); 2) to go beyond the perspective of the research participant’s perspective as the source of information (to collect the introspective data form the interviewer about the relationship that was experienced during the interview); 3) to compare the information from different sources and the readiness to search for well justified patterns of data (especially comparing the data derived from the interviewee and interviewer both in verbal and non-verbal aspects). The preliminary attempt was to discuss such issues as: ways of non-verbal data collection, transference and countertransference analysis in research interview, the specificity of diagnostic and research interview.

    W artykule dokonano przeglądu wybranych badań psychologicznych, w których jako źródło danych wykorzystano teksty pisane, w tym dokumenty osobiste. Scharakteryzowane zostały procedury badawcze i rezultaty w ramach dwóch podejść: ilościowego i jakościowego. Rezultaty badań ilościowych zostały wybrane pod kątem ich przydatności dla interpretacji tekstu (zależności między formą wypowiedzi a stanem psychicznym lub trwałą dyspozycją psychiczną) ukierunkowanej na osobę narratora. W ramach podejścia jakościowego przedstawione zostały badania dotyczące ustalania znaczeń (sensów) podmiotowych konstytuujących tożsamość osobistą (narracyjną lub dialogową) lub sens życia. Punktem wyjścia są klasyczne badania biograficzne Ch. Buehler, następnie omówione są psychologiczne badania dzienników z getta, wybrane strategie i ustalenia w ramach ponad 20-letnich badań nad tożsamością narracyjną w ujęciu D. McAdamsa oraz badanie wykorzystujące teorię dialogowego Ja H. Hermansa w klinicznej psychologii stosowanej.
    This article reviews some selected psychological studies, the source of which are written texts, including personal documents. The test procedures and its results were described in two ways: the quantitative and the qualitative one. The results of the quantitative research were selected depending on their use for the text interpretation, with the focus on the narrator (the relationship between the form of expression and a mental state or permanent mental disposition). The research on fixing meanings of personal identity (narrative or dialogue), or the meaning of life, is set as the qualitative approach. The starting point is a classic biographical study of Ch. Buehler, then a psychological study based on diaries from the ghetto, then some selected results of over 20-years’ study on the narrative identity of D. McAdams and finally the study using H. Hermans’s Dialogical Self Theory in clinical psychology.

    Opis:
    Mediation is a legal institution used in international, supranational, and state disputes. A wide range of legal cases in disputes arise include economic, civil, labour or family matters and it is not a closed catalogue. Mediation can be seen as a set of decision-making processes, of which the mediator’s decision-making process is essential for the outcome of mediation. I propose a study to be carried out on the institution of mediation using a decision-making approach in the light of an interdisciplinary review of the results of research that may be relevant to the project, for example from the perspectives of logic, psychology, sociology, and neuroscience. The research will also include elements related to computer-aided decision making and artificial intelligence, and the issues of confidence and emotion will also be included in order to balance the participation of artificial processes. As a result of the research, an SSM (support, stimulate, manage) strategy will be proposed, taking into account the model course of decision-making in mediation with a focus on the mediator’s decision-making processes. The article provides a preliminary reflection and announcement of the start of work on the topic of decision-making approaches in mediation, with a call for discussion, addressed to the academic and professional community. The research is conducted in the Academic Mediation Centre operating at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (Lublin) and within the research group – Central & Eastern Mediation Research Group.
    Mediacja to instytucja prawna mająca zastosowanie w sporach międzynarodowych, ponadnarodowych i państwowych. Szeroki wachlarz spraw prawnych, w których występuje spór, obejmuje sprawy gospodarcze, cywilne, pracownicze czy rodzinne i nie jest to katalog zamknięty. Mediacja może być postrzegana jako zespół procesów decyzyjnych, z których zasadnicze znaczenie dla wyniku mediacji ma proces decyzyjny mediatora. Proponuję przeprowadzenie badań nad instytucją mediacji z zastosowaniem podejścia decyzyjnego w świetle interdyscyplinarnego przeglądu wyników badań mogących mieć znaczenie dla projektu, np. z płaszczyzny logiki, psychologii, socjologii i neuronauki. Do badań zostaną włączone również elementy dotyczące komputerowego wspomagania decyzji oraz sztucznej inteligencji, a celem zrównoważenia udziału procesów sztucznych włączone będą zagadnienia związane z zaufaniem i emocjami. W wyniku przeprowadzonych badań zaproponowana zostanie strategia SSM (support, stimulate, manage), z uwzględnieniem modelowego przebiegu procesów decyzyjnych w mediacji i z naciskiem na procesy decyzyjne mediatora. Artykuł zawiera wstępne rozważania na ten temat oraz stanowi zapowiedź dla środowiska naukowego i praktycznego, z wnioskiem o dyskusję i rozpoczęcie prac w tematyce podejścia decyzyjnego w mediacji. Badania prowadzone są w Akademickim Centrum Mediacji działającym przy Wydziale Prawa i Administracji Uniwersytetu Marii Curie-Skłodowskiej w Lublinie oraz w ramach grupy badawczej Central & Eastern Mediation Research Group.

    Poniższy artykuł składa się z dwóch części. Jego celem jest krótki przegląd konkurujących sposobów rozumienia prawa. Koncepcje te nabierają znaczenia w obliczu obecnego kryzysu militarnego, mogą bowiem stanowić podstawę do opracowania skutecznych sposobów stabilizacji porządku międzynarodowego, m.in. poprzez ukaranie sprawców zbrodni wojennych. W pierwszej zaprezentowane zostały koncepcje prawa naturalnego wraz z jej wariantem, tj. prawem natury o zmiennej treści i pozytywizmu prawniczego (klasycznego, teorii „czystego prawa” Hansa Kelsena, pozytywizmu wyrafinowanego), formuły Gustawa Radbrucha oraz relacje między nimi. W drugiej części omówione zostały realistyczna koncepcja prawa (realizm amerykański, psychologizm prawniczy Leona Petrażyckiego i skandynawski), koncepcje tzw. trzeciej drogi (hermeneutyka, komunikacyjna teoria prawa, retoryczna koncepcja prawa Chaima Perelmana) oraz wielopłaszczyznowe ujęcie prawa.
    The following article is divided into two parts. Its purpose is to briefly review the competing ways of understanding the law. These concepts are gaining importance in the face of the current military crisis, as they can be the basis for developing effective ways to stabilize the international order, e.g.by punishing the perpetrators of war crimes. The first presents the concepts of natural law with its variant - the law of nature with variable content and legal positivism (classical, the theory of “pure law” by Hans Kelsen, refined positivism), Gustaw Radbruch’s formulas and the relations between them. The second part discusses the realistic concept of law (American realism, legal psychologism of Leon Petrażycki and Scandinavian ones), the concepts of the so-called the third way (hermeneutics, communication theory of law, the rhetorical concept of Chaim Perelman’s law) and a multifaceted approach to law.

    The paper substantiates the relevance of the study of universal creative personality in the typological aspect and the need to involve in such study of psychological resources. The author described the main provisions of Alexei Leontiev’s activity theory of personality, because it most meets the needs of this study. The purpose of the paper is to reveal the methodological basis for the study of the universal creative personality. The researcher relies on the statement of A. Leontiev that the real basis of personality forms the system of its activities. Thus, she argues that in the study of the universal creative personality it is necessary to appreciate the development of personality activity, its specific types and forms and connections between them. The researcher chose the leading subject activity as the main criterion for the typology of the universal creative personality. She attracted to study William Stern’s concept of the psychological type and Nina Herasymova-Persydska’s musical type to determine the shape and quality of the universal creative personality. The author described the essence of the proposed typological approach and the conceptual- terminological apparatus of the study. In particular, she identified six simple types of universal creative personality – universal-composer, universal-performer, universalmusicologist, universal-public figure, universal-pedagogue and classical universal. According to O. Komenda, the universal creative personality combines at least three types of activities. The leading activity of musician is marked of large scale, duration, value in the eyes of the artist and his environment, the emergence of new types of activities and the restructuring of creative processes. In conclusion, the researcher described the method of typological analysis of the universal creative personality.
