The article aims to present projected cost and profitability of investment in photovoltaic installations on an agritourism farm. Special attention is drawn to economic efficiency of a system of photovoltaic modules installed on an agritourism farm hosting a four-member tourist group and using a photovoltaic system having a capacity of 5 kWp. It has also been assumed that the whole amount of electricity produced is used on the agritourism farm. The analysis results have taken into consideration the assumption estimating the use of energy at the level of about 5,000 kWh per year. The annual energy cost estimation is PLN 2,750 (5,000 kWh x PLN 0.55).
Celem opracowania jest zaprezentowanie planowanych kosztów i opłacalność inwestycji fotowoltaicznych w gospodarstwie agroturystycznym. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na efekt ekonomiczny zainstalowania systemu modułów fotowoltaicznych w gospodarstwie agroturystycznym, zamieszkałym przez czteroosobową grupę turystów wykorzystującą system fotowoltaiczny o mocy 5 kWp. Założono, że cała wyprodukowana energia elektryczna jest na bieżąco zużywana przez przykładowe gospodarstwo agroturystyczne. Wyniki analiz uwzględniały założenie charakteryzujące zużycie energii w gospodarstwie na poziome około 5000 kWh w ciągu roku, gdzie cena energii wynosiła średnio 0,55 zł za1 kWh energii elektrycznej. Kalkulując obliczenia za zużytą energię elektryczną w danym roku należało zapłacić 2750 zł (5000 kWh x 0,55 zł/kWh).

Opis:
Purpose: The article presents the actual problem of determining cost of construction project implementation. Within the conducted research, an analysis of existing approaches to managing project costs in the face of uncertainty was carried out, including the justification of the possibility of using the contract system for the purpose of optimizing the project, as well as identification of possibilities of cost engineering. Design/methodology/approach: A Case-study method, based on an assessment of the performance indicators of an investment project for the construction of a city boiler house and the project cost analysis using the Earned Value Technique, was used to prove the hypothesis about the effectiveness of using cost engineering. Findings: The results of evaluating the effectiveness of project implementation was substantiated, and the feasibility of applying the EPC contract for the cost optimization was proven. The projects implemented with the EPC contracts have a high potential. EPC/M contracts are widely used in other countries, but in Russia, this type of contract is just beginning to be used. Originality/value: In the result of the analysis, it was revealed that the main factors affecting the cost of the boiler house implementation construction project were the imperfection of the pricing system, the presence of unrecorded work and costs, the inadequacy of the rationing system; the violation of technology and timing of implementation.

Variation in construction projects are very common and likely to occur from different sources, by various causes, at any stage of a project, and may have considerable negative impacts on items such as costs and schedule delays. This study is aimed to assess the causes of variation on construction project, the factors influencing the occurrence of variation on project and to determine the impacts of variation on project delivery in relation to cost and time. Questionnaire survey was used; out of 80 questionnaires that were sent out 78 questionnaires were retrieved from respondents in the contracting firm, consulting firms and government parastatals in Oyo state. The findings showed that; owner’s financial problem, change in specification by owner, change in scope of the project, care the most important causes of variation. The presence of specialist works, unforeseen conditions, and incompleteness of design are the top factors influencing the occurrence of variation. The most important impacts of variation on project delivery in relation to cost are quality degradation, increase in project cost, delay in completion and logistics delays while the most important impacts of variation on project delivery in relation to time are logistics delays, delay in completion and quality degradation.

Opis:
Many construction projects contain several identical or similar units, such as floors in multistory buildings, houses in housing developments, sections of pipelines or highways. Repetitive processes arise from the subdivision of a generalized construction process into specific activities associated with particular units. In many cases it is possible to perform individual processes (repeated in each units) in alternative ways (modes). Regardless of the construction project procurement system, duration and cost are the key factors determining project’s economic efficiency and fulfillment of the owner’s needs and requirements. Minimizing project duration and cost are the most important criteria for schedule optimization. Processes that repeat from unit to unit are realized by specialized crews. Uninterrupted resource utilization becomes an extremely important issue for scheduling repetitive processes to minimize employment costs. In this paper, the problem of selecting appropriate modes and minimizing the total project cost and with a constraint on project duration is presented with respect to the continuity of the crews’ work. The paper uses the mixed integer linear programming to model this problem and uses a case study to illustrate it.

Efficient infrastructure is a prerequisite of, and critical to, development. Only some projects generate a positive rate of return, but all of them should generate positive non-economic impacts and contribute social gains. Social impact is considered as a consequence or effect of decisions or interventions which lead to development. It can also be considered as a social consequence of development. The main problem of social costs and benefits is that the impact is difficult to predict and quantify and can be taken into account differently by authorities, decision makers and project developers. The main purpose of the paper is to identify and demonstrate a concept of the social impact of infrastructure projects. The principal methods used are a review of existing social science literature and surveys based on focus group interviews, devoted stakeholders of infrastructure projects, and their involvement at different stages of the project. The expected result is a set of outputs and outcomes which demonstrates social impacts (costs and benefits) related to stakeholders’ groups of the analyzed project.

We investigate the problem of setting revenue sharing rules in a team production environment with a principal and two agents. We assume that the project output is binary and that the principal can observe the level of agents' actual effort, but does not know the production function. Identifying conditions that ensure the eficiency of the revenue sharing rule, we show that the rule of equal percentage markups can lead to inflation of project costs. This result provides an explanation for project cost overruns other than untruthful cost reporting.

Economic efficiency of brownfield regeneration: study of South Moravian projects. The objective of brownfield regeneration is to increase the attractiveness and value of individual sites to a level where they can compete directly with the construction of a greenfield project. The aim of this paper is to examine the economic efficiency of brownfi eld regeneration. By using CBA outputs, the contribution of socio-economic efficiency to the total efficiency of individual projects based on EBCR was investigated on the basis of a sample of 14 projects located in the South Moravian Region. Furthermore, the expected value of EBCR was simulated by using the Monte Carlo method. The results reveal that socio-economic efficiency contributes signifi cantly to the overall efficiency of these projects and therefore cannot be neglected during their evaluation. At the end of the paper, future research directions in this area are outlined.
Efektywność ekonomiczna rewitalizacji terenów poprzemysłowych na przykładzie południowomorawskich projektów. Rewitalizacja terenów poprzemysłowych służy zwiększeniu atrakcyjności i wartości poszczególnych działek do takiego poziomu, aby mogły konkurować z terenami wcześniej niezagospodarowanymi. Celem niniejszej publikacji jest zbadanie efektywności ekonomicznej rewitalizacji terenów poprzemysłowych. Wykorzystując CBA (cost–benefit analysis), obliczono udział efektywności społeczno-ekonomicznej w porównaniu z całkowitą efektywnością poszczególnych projektów z zastosowaniem EBCR na przykładzie 14 projektów zlokalizowanym w kraju południowomorawskim. Ponadto wartość oczekiwaną EBCR symulowano metodą Monte Carlo. Wyniki pokazują, że efektywność społeczno-ekonomiczna w znaczący sposób przyczynia się do ogólnej skuteczności tych projektów, a zatem nie można jej pomijać podczas ich oceny. Na końcu artykułu wskazano kierunku dalszych badań w tej dziedzinie.

Investor bears responsibility for proper preparation of the investment process. One of his tasks is to prepare the project documentation and obtaina building permit. Frequently, during his work, there are situations and events whose impact interferes with the design solutions. Regardless of reasons, alterations to a project constitute a source of cost risk. In each case, the Investor should be prepared for this type of a risk. Exposure to risk should be taken into account in the planning stage of the investment. Also, a model of investment execution should be chosen at this stage. The type of model is associated with the distribution of risk throughout the project. The aim of this paper is to identify events that generate risk related to alterations to Project Documentation in the context of the selection of the investment execution model.

The important and actual problem of health protection systems is to ensure suitable safety during taking care of patient. This can be done by innovative medical systems, which increase satisfaction of patients. That issue cause realization of more and more complex projects in medical area. The problem is that specification for medical projects is not always well defined and it can caused overhead cost and time of realization. Presented in this paper innovated method helps in prevention of situation, where medical project can not be finished because of undefined cost and time framework.
