    It is obvious that the educational system shapes the skill of critical thinking, also in the sphere of the assessment of political phenomena. The educational background of a person determines the kind of decisions he or she makes. These decisions refer to political activity both defined as interest in political issues and manifested in the form of active political participation. The aim of this paper is to identify relations between holding a university degree and political subjectivity. The study, conducted with the use of a survey questionnaire, involved students from the University of Zielona Góra and from the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń.

    Social sciences, understood as critical and not neutral by nature, they should be equipped with specific competencies and sensivity. C.  W. Mills these comptence define as sociological imagination – which is study of the relationship of history and biography, Giddens interpreted it as three basic senses: historical, anthropological, critical. The translation into political science would be a political theories imagination, it consist,, among over things like a: historicity of political phenomena, antisubstansialism, research self-awareness. Definition of political theories imagination I propose in the context of Wiktor Marzec’s paper Rebelion and Reaction, which is a study from field of historical sociology, it’s in itself a lot of inspiration for theorists of politics: research, theoretical and methodological. It is worth considering – in this context – fundamental categories of political science, like political subjectivity and the political, also revalidate in their range.

    Political relevance is one of the most essential elements of political subjectivity. The process of its acquisition by political parties is not only a factor of their success, but also the foundation of their ability to influence the sphere of current politics. The political relevance of political parties combines both the institutional dimension of political processes and the practice of competition in three dimensions: electoral, parliamentary and cabinet. Only when parties are able to participate in all the three dimensions will they be able to perform the most important functions. The following article presents a specific dimension of acquiring political relevance, which is the management of political change.

    The study’s main aim is to look for relationships between political beliefs and political subjectivity of grey voters (over 65). Political beliefs contain a motivational element, mainly due to being embedded in the values and needs of the respective individuals. This can affect the consciously created place of the citizen within the political system in different directions. The orientation of the study on the grey voters may be cognitively engaging due to the several sources related to historical events that took place in Poland. Political beliefs were conceptualized through dimensions on a left-right scale, where xenophobia and religious fundamentalism were diagnosed in the area of cultural beliefs. In contrast, acceptance of capitalism and anti-welfare were diagnosed in the area of economic beliefs. Political subjectivity was diagnosed using an original tool, whose preliminary analysis made it possible to distinguish three factors of the construct: political initiative, political sense, and identification with the political system.

    Definiowanie własnej roli w procesie uczestnictwa politycznego decyduje o sposobie jej realizacji, a zatem o postawie, jaką przyjmie działający podmiot w szeroko rozumianej wspólnocie politycznej. Może to być postawa aktywnego aktora współodpowiedzialnego za kierunek i jakość realizowanej polityki lub pozbawionego poczucia sprawstwa klienta. W przypadku osób niepełnosprawnych przyjmowanie pierwszej z nich jest utrudnione zarówno ze względu na obiektywne bariery związane z percepcyjno-motorycznymi ograniczeniami, jak i z uwagi na subiektywne, głęboko zakorzenione w społeczeństwie i wśród samych niepełnosprawnych stereotypizujące sposoby myślenia o funkcjonowaniu tej kategorii społecznej w społeczeństwie. Wyjście poza ten schemat wymaga urzeczywistnienia społecznego modelu niepełnosprawności, w którym osoby niepełnosprawne stają się aktywnymi uczestnikami życia społecznego, przyczyniając się do jego rozwoju. Celem wystąpienia jest zaprezentowanie dynamiki zmian w zakresie postrzegania przez osoby niepełnosprawne w Polsce ich podmiotowości w wymiarze politycznym. Analizie poddane zostaną takie kwestie, jak: zainteresowanie polityką, zaufanie do instytucji politycznych i uogólnionych innych oraz własny potencjał w zakresie współkreowania polityki. Dane, do których odwołają się referenci, pochodzić będą z Europejskiego Sondażu Społecznego (2002–2014).
    Define our own role in the process of political participation determines the manner of its implementation, and therefore the attitude we adopt the operating entity in the wider political community. This may be the attitude of an active actor co-responsible for the direction and quality of the policy, or lacking a sense of agency. In the case of disabled persons adopt the first of them it is difficult due to both objective barriers associated with perceptual-motor constraints, and because of the subjective, deeply rooted in society and among the disabled themselves, stereotyping ways of thinking about the functioning of this social category in society. Going beyond this scheme requires the realization of the social model of disability, in which persons with disabilities are active participants in social life, contributing to its development. The aim of the article is to present the dynamics of change in the perception of people with disabilities in Poland, their subjectivity in the political dimension. The analysis will cover issues such as: interest in politics, trust in political institutions and the generalized others, their capacity to co-create the policy. The data used in the empirical analysis is derived from European Social Survey (2002–2014).

    Róża Luksemburg to nie tylko teoretyczka ekonomii. Lektura jej tekstów pisanych w gorących dniach rewolucji 1905 roku ukazuje niezwykle ciekawe ujecie kształtowania się podmiotowości politycznych w procesie walk rewolucyjnych. Ich polityczny wymiar stawia w nowym świetle cały teoretyczny dorobek autorki Akumulacji kapitału, ukazując nieustanne napięcie między zdeterminowaniem procesu rewolucyjnego przez czynniki ekonomiczne a politycznym konstruowaniem podmiotu rewolucyjnego z wielości walk społecznych. Artykuł jest próbą „lektury symptomalnej” tekstów Luksemburg, która – jak argumentuję – na skutek specyficznych okoliczności historycznych – zmagała się z tym, co polityczne: radykalną, konieczną kontyngencją pola politycznego. Prace Luksemburg oferują płodną teoretyzację procesów kształtowania tożsamości politycznych, ale przede wszystkim są zapisem pierwszych prób konceptualizacji „źródłowego” problemu polityczności, z którym my również się mierzymy. „Zamknięcie” w horyzoncie pojęciowym jej czasu powoduje niemożliwość opracowania w pełni wynikających zeń konsekwencji – polityczność jest jednak niewidoczną przyczyną generującą ciągłe napięcia i oscylacje w jej myśleniu.
    Rosa Luxemburg is not only an economic author. In texts written in dramatic days of 1905 revolution she presented a path-breaking account of construction of political subjectivities, and thus revolutionary subject, in the very process of revolutionary struggles. The political dimension of her interventions shed anew light on her overall theoretical oeuvre. There is a constant tension between a determination of revolutionary process by economy and a political construction of revolutionary subject out of plurality of social demands. This article is an attemptto “symptomally read” of her texts, as evidence – I argue – of her theoretical struggle with the political – a radical contingency of the political dimension, which emerged in the given historical circumstances. Therefore, her works from 1905period could be read as a very early attempt to comprehend the problem, which we are still dealing now in thinking revolutionary and emancipatory politics. However, a “closure”in the certain intellectual horizon prevented Luxemburg from drawing ultimate consequences of this condition. Nevertheless, the political is still an “invisible cause” generating tension and peculiar theoretical oscillation in Luxemburg’s thinking.

    The subject of the article is the characteristics of modern forms of memory institutionalization – the kind of commemorative practices and the related production and dissemination of knowledge in the public space. This topic seems especially important but also controversial in post-socialist countries, in which a major process of revision of the past is continues. This process becomes a part of the political pluralization of the public sphere and the expression of the emancipation of various previously marginalized groups. Using the example of the three museum:Museum of the Macedonian Struggle for Sovereignty and Independence, War Childhood Museum in Sarajevo and „Polin” Museum of the History of Polish Jews, the author discusses: – the articulation and afirmation of subjectivity by means of museum as an institution– the mechanism for shaping the authority of institutions so as to legimitize the interpretation of the past– the relationship between the particular, often fragmented registers of the memory and the dominant power discourses.

    Niniejszy artykuł dotyczy społecznego wymiaru polityki miejskiej. Znaczenie tego zagadnienia w ostatnich latach znacząco ewaluowało, a konieczność kreowania przestrzeni przy współudziale mieszkańców i jej użytkowników w celu osiągnięcia jej jak najwyższej jakości stanowi już swego rodzaju imperatyw. Jednak nieczęsto praktyki z tym związane, w szczególności w realiach polskich, można zaliczyć do udanych. Przedmiotem artykułu jest prezentacja częściowych wyników badań empirycznych przeprowadzonych wśród mieszkańców Bydgoszczy. Poprzez odfiltrowanie najliczniejszej grupy wiekowej – mieszkańców powyżej 65. roku życia, dokonano weryfikacji stanowiska mieszczan w zakresie jakości bydgoskiej przestrzeni miejskiej i ich udziału w procesie jej kształtowania. Hipotezą było założenie, że bydgoscy seniorzy wykazują stosunkowo niski poziom uczestnictwa w procesie kształtowania przestrzeni miejskiej. Tym samym analiza zebranego materiału empirycznego umożliwiła dokonanie oceny skuteczności realizowanej w Bydgoszczy polityki miejskiej w zakresie kształtowania przestrzeni na rzecz najstarszych mieszkańców. Wyniki badań potwierdziły hipotezę, że bydgoscy seniorzy cechują się bardzo niskim poziomem uczestnictwa w procesach kształtowania przestrzeni miejskiej. Ponadto wykazały, że nieznajomość narzędzi partycypacji społecznej jest nadrzędnym powodem braku tej aktywności. Z kolei stan przestrzeni miejskiej, jak i panujące w niej warunki życia respondenci ocenili stosunkowo dobrze. Z rozważań wynika więc, że partycypacja i inkluzja społeczna seniorów stanowią istotnie zaniedbane elementy realizowanej w Bydgoszczy polityki miejskiej, stąd też trudno jest określić ją jako w pełni skuteczną. Treść zawarta w artykule przede wszystkim stanowi diagnozę będącą ważnym sygnałem dla decydentów i praktyków miejskich.
    This article refers to the social dimension of urban policy. The importance of this issue has evolved significantly in recent years, and the need to create space in cooperation with residents and its users in order to achieve its highest possible quality is already a kind of imperative. However, these practices, especially in Poland, can rarely be considered successful. The subject of the article is the presentation of partial results of empirical research conducted among the inhabitants of Bydgoszcz. By filtering out the largest age group – residents over 65 years of age, the townspeople’s position on the quality of Bydgoszcz’s urban space and their participation in the process of shaping it was verified. The hypothesis was that Bydgoszcz seniors demonstrate a relatively low level of participation in the process of shaping urban space. The analysis of the collected empirical material made it possible to assess the effectiveness of the urban policy implemented in Bydgoszcz in terms of shaping space for the oldest residents. The research results confirmed the hypothesis that Bydgoszcz seniors have a very low level of participation in the processes of shaping urban space. Moreover, they showed that lack of knowledge of social participation tools is the primary reason for the lack of this activity. In turn, respondents assessed the condition of urban space and living conditions relatively well. The considerations show that the participation and social inclusion of seniors is a significantly neglected element of the urban policy implemented in Bydgoszcz, therefore it is difficult to describe it as fully effective. The content contained in the article constitutes a diagnosis, which is an important signal for decision-makers and urban practitioners.

Человеческое присутствие демонстрируется исключительно благодаря способностям.
    Radical democracy is not a political system. The author agrees with J.J. Rousseau that “true democracy never existed and will not exist”. She also agrees with J. Rancière that it is not guaranteed by any institution, codex or law. Radical democracy begins and ends in every single man. Its foundation power is the human being, the individual’s self-agency and its ability to transform the individual’s own distracted powers into a dynamic projection of personal presence in the world. Human presence manifests itself only by self-agentive acts.

    Autor przypomina o potrzebie ujmowania polityki zarówno jako fenomenu obiektywnego, jak i subiektywnego. Postuluje, aby jej badanie łączyło podejście analityczno-empiryczne z interpretacją. W jego rozumieniu ta ostatnia nie jest tożsama z badaną rzeczywistością, lecz stanowi próbę obiektywizacji wiedzy. Instrumentalne i mechanistyczne ujmowanie procesów politycznych jest według niego całkowicie nieadekwatne, gdyż ignoruje rolę emocji, intencji, inteligencji, woli i świadomości człowieka. Badanie politologiczne nie może się jednak ograniczać do interpretacji. Równie ważne jest uwzględnianie strukturalnych i materialnych wytworów polityki, a także uwarunkowań przyrodniczych i gatunkowych. W rezultacie przed świadomym badaczem staje trudne zadanie integracji złożonego repertuaru narzędzi metodologicznych.
    The author reminds us of the need to view politics both as an objective and subjective phenomenon. He postulates that her study should combine analytical-empirical approach with interpretation. In his understanding, the latter is not identical with the studied reality, but is an attempt to objectify knowledge. The instrumental and mechanistic approach to political processes is completely inadequate, because it ignores the role of emotions, intentions, intelligence, human will and awareness. Political research, however, cannot be limited to interpretation. It is equally important to take into account the structural and material determinants of politics, as well as nature and species. As a result, a conscious researcher has a difficult task to integrate the complex repertoire of methodological tools.

    Opis:
    The starting point of my considerations is the category of the theatre of memory, taken from Francis Yates’ book Art of memory. The category was applied in the book in relation to ancient traditions and mnemonic techniques. In the article I attempt to reinterpret this category and apply it in the description of the contemporary practices of commemorating and reminding of the Socialist Yugoslavia’s experience in space and through space. I am interested in the artistic activities of contemporary visual creators who in their works deal with the subject of SFRY. Referring to the example of the works of the artists belonging to different generations, I discuss two trends seen in the reception of this historical experience. Metonymic approach (Szombathy) is based on problematizing one’s own biographical experience as a part of the G reat H istory, while the metaphorical recognition (Cibic) means a search for universal content in what is historical and local.

    Opis:
    Two controversial women, a German and a Pole, are presented in this comparative study. Käthe Schirmacher and Stefania Laudyn-Chrzanowska were radical women’s rights advocates who became passionate nationalists. The article is an attempt at interpreting their lives and writings as a kind of self-narration and at the same time a narration of community (identity). As Carolyn Heilbrun puts it, a woman can write her life by telling it in an autobiography, she can write it as a fictional narrative or write it “in advance by living it”. Therefore, the paper focuses on both texts and (real) lives. Moreover, individual identity continuously intersects with group identity in the biographies and narrations displayed here. For Schirmacher and Laudyn narrating the self often means narrating community: either narrating the imagined women’s community or narrating the nation. Hence both authors challenge the model of an autonomous individual narrating a single life. A further point of departure is the relationship between identity and interaction with other languages or national groups. It is not entirely coincidental that Schirmacher and Laudyn developed strongly nationalistic and anti-Semitic attitudes after having lived abroad for a long period of time. The first few years were marked by a deep belief in supra- -national women’s organizations and women’s solidarity. Then a kind of “political solstice” took place (Schirmacher). Obviously, the radical change of views was due to a number of factors but the everyday confrontation with “the other” intensified the awareness of cultural boundaries and resulted in the sacralization of their own respective nations. The paper offers thus a double portrait of both activists as feminists and nationalists, and also, more or less deliberately, chronists of two different, though intertwined, ‘imagined communities’.
