    This article presents issues related to the search for new products. The process of innovation implementation in a production company is characterized. Issues related to the process of innovation implementation are presented, as well as processes closely related to it. There are presented the analyses which are necessary to carry out, before starting the process of innovation implementation in a company. The process of economic analyses and risk assessment of FMEA implementation was discussed. The analyses presented refer to a specific example which is the implementation of innovative impregnated wheels in the company Andre Abrasive Articles.

Zaproponowana metodyka, obejmująca ponadstandardowe procedury, kryteria i metody ewaluacji strategicznych programów badawczych, umożliwia m.in. badanie poziomu gotowości wdrożenia rozwiązań do gospodarki, poziomu ryzyka wdrożeniowego planowanych do opracowania rozwiązań oraz analizę ich potencjału komercyjnego.
    The article presents the original methodology of the evaluation of strategic research programmes in the area of technical solutions supporting sustainable economic development. Proposed methodology, containing non-standard procedures, criteria and methods of evaluation of strategic research programmes, enables one to test the implementation maturity level of solutions, the level of the implementation risk of planned solutions, and the analysis of their commercial potential, among others.

    Opis:
    Technology assessment is one of key challenges in innovation management concerning support for the decision-making processes with regard to the importance, development, and implementation of technologies. The article presents a literature review concerning the term “technology assessment” and methods and models applied in this field. Against this background, an original complex technology assessment system that was developed and verified at the Institute for Sustainable Technologies – National Research Institute in Radom, Poland is presented.
    Ocena technologii stanowi jedno z kluczowych wyzwań zarządzania innowacjami w zakresie wspomagania procesów decyzyjnych dotyczących znaczenia i rozwoju technologii. W artykule przeprowadzono analizę pojęciową terminu „ocena technologii” oraz zaprezentowano przegląd stosowanych w tym zakresie metod i modeli. Na tym tle przedstawiono oryginalny system kompleksowej oceny technologii opracowany i zweryfikowany w Instytucie Technologii Eksploatacji – Państwowym Instytucie Badawczym w Radomiu.

    Good implementation of an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system differs from unsuccessful one before everything the ability of both foreseeing and reducing the amount and the size of numerous traps which appear at every stage of the life cycle project implementation. In this article, based on the results of questionnaire sent to 50 companies with different employment size, events affecting the failures of the ERP system implementation were identified and on their base a level of risk as well as additional costs related to preventive actions (reducing the probability or effects of the problem occurrence) were investigated. To evaluate the risk values of chosen ERP system implementation tasks, a spot risk assessment method was used.

    The process of software development has become so dynamic that it nowadays requires more and more supporting tools. An organization which intends to have such tools implemented must take into account its possible future needs. Complex solutions usually offer greater variety of available options and functionalities but are costly to implement. This paper presents some models o IT project management together with the supporting software. Owing to applying the resource management policy at the stage of production and implementation one may assess the risk and identify potential threats. The discussed issues may shed some light on potential difficulties occurring at the particular stages of software production management whereas the conclusions may help people in charge choose the best model, including its implementation strategy. The first model are dedicated tools created from scratch and often preceded by the analysis of the existing solutions and the needs of the company and the customers. The second is to seek from the very beginning multifunction and complex tools for the big or well-developed IT systems providers. This article is to present the models regarding the IT project management (together with the related supporting tools) which are applied in the IT companies involved in providing the foreign customers with the bases of knowledge. On the basis of the experience gained while designing and developing dedicated software (by means of the above-mentioned tools) and its implementation one drew some conclusions concerning e.g., risk assessment; potential threats at every stage of the project lifecycle; improvement of the quality and production time of the software; reduction of the number of errors; improvement of the internal communication within the project team (it is the first step in the development of the design patterns). The patterns should help the managers choose the proper management model and related tools for the implementation and particular project tasks.

    Large Projects in Aerospace Business (LPAB) notoriously face significant delays and cost overruns. The starting point is: reduction of risk for both deviations between planned and actual cost and time would increase profitability of a project. That means, if project duration and volume could be predicted more precisely, the risk for delays and cost overruns would be reduced while profitability would be improved through allocating resources when and where they are actually needed. This questions the efficiency of presently applied planning methods to yield proper estimates for project volume and duration. The initial approach to this problem started off with learning curves and developed into parametric estimate models mainly for cost. Over decades it was a main attempt to make the models robust for technical progress and to increase flexibility with regard to different kind of aircraft but there were still significant deficiencies. This article introduces a new approach to overcome above deficiencies and the corresponding parametric estimate models to determine project volume and duration for future aircraft projects. The model uses the degree of new technologies applied (technical complexity) and the number of countries, suppliers and final assemblies (organizational complexity) as independent variables. The parameters of the regression analysis were determined by analysing 5 large aircraft projects (Boeing 787, Airbus A380, A350, A400M, Lockheed Martin F-35B and Eurofighter). As a result, the model meets the requirements of application in practice while its accuracy is still within the range of legacy models.

    Opis:
    Cold is a typical environmental risk factor in outdoor work in northern regions. It should be taken into account in a company’s occupational safety, health and quality systems. A development process for improving cold risk management at the Finnish Maritime Administration (FMA) was carried out by FMA and external experts. FMA was to implement it. Three years after the development phase, the outcomes and implementation were evaluated. The study shows increased awareness about cold work and few concrete improvements. Concrete improvements in occupational safety and health practices could be seen in the pilot group. However, organization-wide implementation was insufficient, the main reasons being no organization-wide practices, unclear process ownership, no resources or a major reorganization process. The study shows a clear need for expertise supporting implementation. The study also presents a matrix for analyzing the process.

    The Statement of Applicability (SoA) is a mandatory document ISMS that you need to develop, prepare, and submit with your ISO 27001, and it is crucial in obtaining your ISO 27001 Risk Assessment and ISMS certification. According to ISO/IEC 27001, Information Security Management System is a collection of ‘that part of the general management system, based on the approach to business risk, to establish, implement, operate, monitor, review, maintain and improve information security. ISO/IEC 27001 specifies the requirements and implementation process for the Information Security Management System. However, implementing this standard without a good SoA document may prove impossible. The article presents a system model for the construction of SoA for ISMS and its certification following the ISO 27001 standard. This model aims to provide instruments for designing and generating an SoA document in relation to ISMS, covering all information processes in GIS. This model allows organizations to evaluate their current state of GIS information asset security implementation according to the best practices defined in ISO/IEC 27001. The proprietary model proposed in this article is assessed from a multi-stage perspective, which confirms that the proposed draft Statement of Use document makes a valuable and innovative contribution to information security management by considering the best practices in this field.

    Projekt to przedsięwzięcie złożone, niepowtarzalne, kompleksowe, mające swój określony początek i koniec, zakończone osiągnięciem założonego na wstępie celu. Dla realizacji projektu i osiągnięcia sukcesu konieczny jest odpowiednio zorganizowany kierownik zespołu oraz właściwie dobrany zespół wykonawczy. Celem artykułu było zbadanie kierowników pod kątem ich pracy z zespołem oraz posiadanych cech i umiejętności pozwalających na skuteczne zarządzanie projektami realizowanymi na Uniwersytecie Technologiczno-Przyrodniczym w Bydgoszczy. Wyniki przeprowadzonych badań wskazały, że kierownicy dobrze poradzili sobie z zarządzaniem zespołem i projektem oraz posiadają odpowiednie predyspozycje do pełnienia funkcji lidera grupy. Kierownicy sporządzali systemy zarządzania ryzykiem do wcześniej zidentyfikowanych zagrożeń. Pomimo występowania problemów w grupie większość liderów była zadowolona z pracy członków zespołu. W 98% kierownicy zdecydowali się na opracowywanie raportów ewaluacji w różnych etapach realizacji projektu, co pozwoliło na skuteczną kontrolę oraz monitoring prac.
    The project is a complex, unique, comprehensive project with a definite beginning and an end, culminating in the achievement of the initial goal. In order to carry out the project and achieve success, a well-organized team leader and properly selected executive team are required. The aim of the article was to examine the managers in terms of their work with the team and the possessed qualities and skills enabling effective management of projects implemented at the University of Technology and Life Sciences in Bydgoszcz. The results of the study showed that the managers were well on team and project management and had the appropriate leadership skills to lead the group. Managers have developed risk management systems for previously identified risks. Despite problems in the group, most of the leaders were satisfied with the work of the team members. In 98% of managers, they decided to develop evaluation reports at various stages of the project, allowing for effective control and monitoring of the work.

    The process implementing of modern information systems in medium and large enterprises, more and more often is associated with a number of problems that can occur already at the planning stage. Often incorrect or incomplete separation of problem factors causes that the procedure of implementation of such a system can significantly lengthen, and in the worst case end in failure. Therefore, a crucial part of this process, it is possible to determine the potential problems and consequences thereof already at an early stage in the project. Modern technologies of artificial intelligence are increasingly becoming an indispensable tool supporting decisionmaking in different areas of economic activity. In the following work was analyzed the effectiveness of the use of an expert system in the implementation of information systems based on the skeletal system PC-SHELL. On the basis of research was developed scheme of building the knowledge base for future expert system to support the implementation of the information systems.
