Opis:: The article presents the possibilities of using information and communication technologies in the teaching process on the example of moderating a discussion forum on an e-learning platform. The author, using her own experience and a phenomenological insight into her own practice, gives practical tips on how to activate persons learning by conducting a discussion in virtual space. The addressed issues comprise tips on the aims and usefulness of a forum; as well as on how to: start a forum, choose the topic, ask questions, deal with the traps of forum moderation, activate its participants, finally, end a discussion. Such a way of active arrangement of learning space and activation of learners fits in with the paradigmatic didactic change described by the formula the shift from teaching to learning, which the author of this article expands by adding and e-learning.
Artykuł pokazuje możliwości wykorzystania nowoczesnych technologii informacyjnych i komunikacyjnych w procesie kształcenia na przykładzie moderowania forum dyskusyjnego na platformie zdalnego nauczania. Autorka, korzystając z własnych doświadczeń oraz dokonując pewnego fenomenologicznego wglądu we własną praktykę, konstruuje pewne wskazówki praktyczne, pozwalające na aktywizowanie osób uczących się za pomocą prowadzenia dyskusji w wirtualnej przestrzeni. Poruszona problematyka dotyka zatem kwestii samego rozpoczęcia forum, jego celowości i przydatności, doboru tematu, postawienia pytań, radzenia sobie z pułapkami moderowania forum, aktywizowaniem jego uczestników, wreszcie kwestii zakończenia dyskusji. Taki sposób aktywnego aranżowania przestrzeni uczenia się oraz aktywizowania osob uczących się wpisuje się w paradygmatyczną zmianę dydaktyczną, opisaną formułą the shift from teaching to learning, którą to autorka rozszerza przez dodanie . . . and e-learning.

Opis:: The reflections included in the article concern the functioning of virtual communities and emerging online relationships between their members. The analyses were performed on the basis of the observation of a group of women – active members of one of the maternity forums. The women knew each other virtually and had been emailing each other (remaining in close, daily contact) for over a year. They had experienced (virtually and in reality) pregnancy, childbirth and infant care. Some of them had known each other since the period before their pregnancy. A social function appeared to be one of the most important functions of being a discussion forum member, along with the informative and advice functions. A special feature of the examined virtual community occurred to be the sense of locality and its specificity.
Rozważania zawarte w artykule dotyczą funkcjonowania wspólnot wirtualnych oraz rodzących się między jej członkami relacji sieciowych. Dokonywane analizy zostały przeprowadzone na podstawie obserwacji uczestniczącej w grupie kobiet – aktywnych użytkowniczek jednego z macierzyńskich forów dyskusyjnych. Kobiety te znały się wirtualnie i pisały ze sobą (pozostając w ścisłym, codziennym kontakcie) od ponad roku. Miały za sobą (wirtualne i realne) doświadczanie ciąży, porodu oraz pielęgnacji niemowląt. Niektóre znały się jeszcze z okresu przedciążowego. Jedną z ważniejszych funkcji bycia na forum dyskusyjnym obok informacyjnej i poradniczej okazała się funkcja towarzyska. Szczególną cecha badanej wspólnoty wirtualnej okazało się poczucie lokalności i jego specyfika

Opis:: Despite the rapid growth of other types of social media, Internet discussion forums remain a highly popular communication channel and a useful source of text data for analyzing user interests and sentiments. Being suited to richer, deeper, and longer discussions than microblogging services, they particularly well reflect topics of long-term, persisting involvement and areas of specialized knowledge or experience. Discovering and characterizing such topics and areas by text mining algorithms is therefore an interesting and useful research direction. This work presents a case study in which selected classification algorithms are applied to posts from a Polish discussion forum devoted to psychoactive substances received from home-grown plants, such as hashish or marijuana. The utility of two different vector text representations is examined: the simple bag of words representation and the more refined embedded global vectors one. While the former is found to work well for the multinomial naive Bayes algorithm, the latter turns out more useful for other classification algorithms: logistic regression, SVMs, and random forests. The obtained results suggest that post-classification can be applied for measuring publication intensity of particular topics and, in the case of forums related to psychoactive substances, for monitoring the risk of drug-related crime.

Opis:: Perturbation du cadre temporel et participatif de l’interaction sur les forums de discussion en ligneL’article a pour but de décrire quelques perturbations du modèle traditionnel de l’interaction verbale dans le contexte des forum de discussion en ligne. L’analyse concerne les topics relevés sur des forums français, où l’interaction, une fois terminée, est reprise et poursuivie après une longue période (parfois après plusieurs mois ou années). Ce relancement est possible puisque le topic est ouvert indéfiniment, ce qui permet de se référer à n’importe quel post et à tout moment. Du point de vue théorique, cela affecte les paramètres de base de l’interaction traditionnellement comprise : son cadre temporel (extension de la durée de la discussion), sa structure (manque de formules de clôture) et sa configuration actantielle. Cette pratique, bien qu’évitable dans les interactions face-to-face, est naturelle et fréquente dans les discussions sur les forums en ligne.
The aim of this paper is to describe some disturbances of the traditional model of verbal in interactions developed on online discussion forums. The analysis focuses on the description of topics raised on French forums, where the interaction, once completed, is continued after a long period. The discussion can be restarted since the topic is open indefinitely, which allows to refer to any post at any time. From a theoretical point of view, this affects the basic parameters of the traditionally understood verbal interaction, namely its time frame (extension of the duration of the discussion), its structure (lack of closing formulas), as well as its participation framework. This practice, although unusual in face-to-face interactions, is quite natural and frequent in discussions on online forums.
Celem niniejszego artykułu jest opisanie kilku zaburzeń tradycyjnego modelu interakcji słownej w dyskusjach prowadzonych na forach internetowych. Analiza skupia się na opisie przypadków wątków dyskusyjnych prowadzonych na forach francuskojęzycznych, gdzie raz zakończona interakcja zostaje wznowiona i kontynuowana po dłuższym czasie (niekiedy po kilku miesiącach lub latach). Podjęcie dyskusji jest możliwe dzięki temu, że wątek jest bezterminowo otwarty, co pozwala na nawiązanie do dowolnej wypowiedzi w dowolnej chwili. Z punktu widzenia teoretycznego wpływa to na podstawowe parametry tradycyjnie rozumianej interakcji słownej, mianowicie na jej ramy czasowe (rozszerzenie czasu trwania dyskusji), strukturę (brak formuł zamykających dyskusję), a także na konfigurację aktancyjną uczestników dyskusji. Praktyka ta, choć niespotykana w interakcji bezpośredniej (face-to-face), jest całkowicie naturalna i często używana w dyskusjach na forach internetowych.

Opis:: Moczenie nocne, inaczej enureza, jest powszechnie definiowane jako mimowolne oddawanie moczu podczas snu przez dziecko, które – pomimo wieku – nie opanowało jeszcze umiejętności kontroli mikcji. Uważa się je za najczęstszy problem urologiczny okresu dzieciństwa i wczesnej adolescencji, wpływający na wiele obszarów funkcjonowania dotkniętej nim osoby, a więc na jej zdrowie somatyczne, rozwój poznawczy, społeczny i emocjonalny. Na początku artykułu autorka przedstawia ogólną charakterystykę moczenia nocnego – w aspekcie medycznym i egzystencjalnym. Następnie poddaje oglądowi wypowiedzi opublikowane na internetowych forach dyskusyjnych, poświęconych enurezie. Ich twórcami są najczęściej dorośli członkowie rodzin moczących się dzieci. Przedmiotem zainteresowania autorki jest zarówno forma, jak i treść owych przekazów. Obrana przez nią metoda badawcza jest w literaturze przedmiotu określana jako interpretacyjna lub rozumiejąca. Dokonana analiza prowadzi do wniosku, że doświadczenie moczenia nocnego u dziecka jest przez internautów ujmowane w charakterze krytycznego wydarzenia życiowego. Jednocześnie przybierają oni wobec niego postawę ofensywną i proaktywną. Ich obecność na cyberforach odgrywa ważną rolę w procesie radzenia sobie z kryzysem: sprzyja wymianie wiedzy, informacji oraz stanowi źródło podtrzymania w obliczu życiowej trudności.
As defined, bedwetting, also called nocturnal enuresis, is involuntary urination while asleep after the age at which bladder control usually begins. It is widely regarded as the most common urology problem of childhood and early adolescence, which can have a serious detrimental effect on the child’s health, emotional well-being, intellectual development and social functioning. At the beginning of the article the authoress presents general characteristics of nocturnal enuresis. Then she analyses a number of posts published on the Internet discussion forums dedicated to bedwetting. The posts are usually written by the relatives of enuretic children. The authoress of the article is interested both in form and content of the texts, and takes an interpretivist approach. As a whole, her empirical research leads to the conclusion that bedwetting in children is perceived by many internauts as critical life event. At the same time, they take an offensive and proactive attitude towards it. Discussing on the cyber forums plays an important role in their struggling or succeeding, because it helps them sharing information, up-to-date knowledge and moral support in the face of life difficulties.

Opis:: Artykuł przedstawia wyniki analizy forum dyskusyjnego poświęconego przyczynom ignorowania interpunkcji w tekstach współcześnie redagowanych przez Polaków. W trakcie analizy wyłonione zostały trzy kategorie głosów, w obrębie których plasowały się opinie forumowiczów — uczestników autorskiego kursu internetowego typu MOOC: 1. Demaskacja edukacji; 2. Technologie informacyjno-komunikacyjne jako podstawa upowszechniania się uproszczonego pisarstwa; 3. Mity na temat (nie)znajomości interpunkcji. Respondenci w obu współczesnych przestrzeniach komunikacyjnych (online i offline) odnotowują zarówno obecność normy interpunkcyjnej (komunikacja oficjalna, wzorcowa), jak i ignorowanie zasad interpunkcyjnych (komunikacja nieoficjalna w mediach społecznościowych).
The paper disputes the results from the analysis of discussion forum about the causes related to ignorance of punctuation in the texts currently edited by Poles. Having analysed the texts, three categories of views were grouped following the respondents’ opinions. They were the participants of the author’s MOOC online course: 1. Unmasking education; 2. Information and communication technologies as the foundation for dissemination of the simplified writing; 3. Myths about (un)awareness of punctuation. Respondents in both modern spaces of communication (online and offline ones) register both presence of punctuation norm (official and standard communication and ignorance of punctuation principles (unofficial communication in social media).
