    The article describes 10 known programmes of practical flight training in military aviation – specialization: Multi-Mission Tactical Jet Pilot, which is the highest level of military pilot training in all types of military and civil aviation – comparable only to the level of training and experience of the pilot-instructor of the Military Aviation School. The presented comparison was developed on the basis of literature research from the point of view of, among others, an aircraft operation engineer and a pilot-instructor.
    W artykule Kompleksowy system kształcenia personelu latającego podnoszący bezpieczeństwo w eksploatacji statków powietrznych opisano 10 systemów praktycznego szkolenia lotniczego występujących w świecie lotnictwa wojskowego – specjalność: Pilot Samolotu Odrzutowego – Wielozadaniowego (PSO-W) – jest to najwyższy poziom wyszkolenia pilota wojskowego ze wszystkich rodzajów lotnictwa wojskowego i cywilnego – porównywalny jedynie z poziomem wyszkolenia i doświadczenia pilota-instruktora Wojskowej Szkoły Lotniczej) na podstawie badań literaturowych z punktu widzenia m.in. inżyniera eksploatacji statków powietrznych i pilota-instruktora.

    Opis:
    The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of video-game experience and flight-stick position on flying performance. The study divided participants into 2 groups; center- and side-stick groups, which were further divided into high and low level of video-game experience subgroups. The experiment consisted of 7 sessions of simulated flying, and in the last session, the flight stick controller was switched to the other position. Flight performance was measured in terms of the deviation of heading, altitude, and airspeed from their respective requirements. Participants with high experience in video games performed significantly better (p < .001) than the low-experienced group. Also, participants performed significantly better (p < .001) with the center-stick than the side-stick. When the side-stick controller was switched to the center-stick position, performance scores continued to increase (0.78 %). However, after switching from a center- to a side-stick controller, performance scores decreased (4.8%).

    This article deals with issues related to the use of flight simulation devices in pilot training. It also discusses the regulations included in the legislation defining the scope of simulator use in flight training processes for particular aviation ratings.     The article was written on basis of Flight safety brochures published by the Polish Air Force Academy from 1975 to 1998. The first part is dedicated for actual training process of the Polish military pilots. The second component focuses on the main causes of the occurrence of aircraft accidents in units of the Polish Air Force Academy in concerned period of time. The further part of the article is dedicated to analysis of aircraft accidents occurred in military aviation training units in years 1970–1994.
    Poniższy artykuł został napisany w oparciu o Informatory bezpieczeństwa lotów, wydane w Wyższej Szkole Oficerskiej Sił Powietrznych w latach 1975–1998. W części pierwszej opisano aktualny proces szkolenia pilotów wojskowych w Polsce. Następnie scharakteryzowano główne przyczyny wypadków lotniczych w jednostkach Wyższej Szkoły Oficerskiej Sił Powietrznych w rozpatrywanym okresie. W ostatniej części artykułu poddano analizie wypadki zaistniałe w jednostkach szkolnych w latach 1970– 1994.

    In this article, the Crew Resource Management (CRM) is described as an important element of the flight safety system aimed at preparing and supplying the aircraft crews with the necessary knowledge and competencies in the area of personal and group performances and limitations (Human Factor – HF). It also presents the CRM training requirements for both flight and cabin personnel in commercial aviation, as well as selected issues regarding the training of the military aviation personnel in the field of human factors and CRM. This paper identifies the common CRM training areas in the field of civil and military, and also presents the fundamental differences and challenges faced by the military aviation in the area of CRM training, based on one of the five key factors of the “5M model” by James Reason influencing the aviation incidents – “Media” (Environment).

    This article diagnoses and evaluates the process of selecting and preparing candidates for military pilots in Poland. The presented changes in the screening training system are to help with understanding the principles of organizing an effective system of recruitment and selection of military pilots at present. It also indicates directions for improvement. The organization of initial flight screening contributes to improving the efficiency of flight training and can serve as a model for use by flight training systems in other countries. The purpose of the article is to diagnose and evaluate recruitment and selection of candidates for military pilots in Polish Armed Forces. The problem that the author addresses is expressed in the following question: in what directions should the current solutions in the selection and training of candidates for military pilots, be improved in order to reduce the attrition rate at subsequent stages of flight training in the future? The research has been conducted at the Military University of Aviation using case study methods. The theoretical research methods, such as analysis and synthesis of information contained in literature and source materials, conclusions and comparison were used to develop the article. In order to confirm the conclusions drawn with the use of theoretical methods, an empirical method was used, which consisted in examining the opinions with the use of expert interviews. Experts were selected from the group of commanders of training units and military pilots involved in selection training, who had an impact on the applicable aviation training and recruitment system in Polish Armed Forces. The results shows main directions of military pilots initial flight screening improvement.
