Opis:
The article presents the laboratory verification of the mathematical description of losses and energy efficiency of the hydraulic transmission with proportionally controlled cylinder supplied by the constant capacity pump in the system of constant pressure is presented. The axial piston pump with pivoting rotor supplied to the system consisted of proportional directional control valve and linear motor – hydraulic cylinder at constant pressure, cooperating with an overflow valve. The choice of the analysed system is not accidental. There is always a view in literature about the very limited energy capabilities of a proportional control system. For this purpose, measurement methods were developed and a test stand was adapted. It consists of two systems: tested and loading. Measurements during the tests were recorded up to date on the computer hard disk. In order to allow for comparison of the total efficiency of the system with the efficiency derived from the simulation, the ki coefficients determining the energy losses of the individual components were calculated. Investigations have shown a high convergence mathematical description of energy losses in the elements of the system efficiency and reality. This allows accurate simulation determining the energy efficiency of the field at every point in its operation, i.e. at any speed and any load-controlled hydraulic cylinder. The speed and load range of the hydraulic cylinder can also be accurately simulated.

Powers of energy losses in a variable capacity displacement pump are compared with or without taking into account the power of hydraulic oil compression. Evaluation of power of liquid compression in the pump was made possible by the use of method, proposed by the Author, of determining the degree of liquid aeration in the pump . In the method of determining the liquid aeration in the pump and of powers of volumetric losses of liquid compression a simplified formula (qPvc . ΔpPi)/2 was used describing the field of indicated work of volumetric losses qPvc of liquid compression during one shaft revolution at indicated increase ΔpPi of pressure in the chambers. Three methods were used for comparing the sum of powers of volumetric losses ΔPPvl due to leakage and ΔPPvc of compression and also of mechanical losses resulting from increase ΔpPi of indicated pressure in the working chambers.

Opis:
The objective of the work is to develop the capability of evaluating the volumetric losses of hydraulic oil compression in the working chambers of high pressure variable capacity displacement pump. Volumetric losses of oil compression must be determined as functions of the same parameters, which the volumetric losses due to leakage, resulting from the quality of design solution of the pump, are evaluated as dependent on and also as function of the oil aeration coefficient ε. A mathematical model has been developed describing the hydraulic oil compressibility coefficient as a relation to the ratio ΔpPi/pn of indicated increase ΔpPi of pressure in the working chambers and the nominal pressure pn, to the pump capacity coefficient bP, to the oil aeration coefficient ε and to the ratio ν/νn of oil viscosity ν and reference viscosity νn. A mathematical model is presented of volumetric losses of hydraulic oil compression in the pump working chambers in the form allowing to use it in the model of power of losses and energy efficiency.

The Author concludes, that there is a possibility of determining a concrete value of the liquid aeration coefficient ε during the pump operation by finding such value of ε with which the increase ΔMPm|ΔpPi = pn, qPgv of torque of mechanical losses is proportional to the indicated torque MPi|ΔpPi = pn, qPgv determined with a fixed value ΔpPi = cte of increase of pressure in the pump working chambers. The fixed value ΔpPi assumed in searching the liquid aeration coefficient ε equals to the nominal pump operation pressure pn (ΔpPi = cte = pn ). The increase ΔMPm|ΔpPi = pn, qPgv of torque of mechanical losses with a fixed value of ΔpPi (ΔpPi = cte) is proportional to the pump geometrical working capacity qPgv , therefore: only with taking into account the aeration coefficient ε of liquid displaced by the pump the relation ΔMPm|ΔpPi = pn, qPgv ~ qPgv can be obtained from tests. The method, proposed by the Author, of determining the working liquid aeration coefficient ε, is presented in this paper and has been practically applied for the first time by Jan Koralewski in his investigations of the influence of viscosity and compressibility of aerated hydraulic oil on volumetric and mechanical losses in a pump of HYDROMATIK A7V.58.1.R.P.F.00 type [8, 9].

Opis:
A technical solution has been proposed that ensures oil drain from the discharge chamber to the pump inlet. The piston of a relief valve is controlled by a differential pressure resulting from Bernoulli effect. The start value of oil draining is to be controlled by the spring initial deflection and modification of the flow section in the outlet channel of the pump.

Modulus B of the liquid volume elasticity of non-aerated and aerated oil is defined in the paper as relation to the indicated increase of pressure in the pump working chambers, with the change of oil temperature and degree of aeration. In evaluation of the losses due to oil compressibility in a variable capacity displacement pump, the volume of compressed liquid at each pump setting is taken into account. Volumetric losses have been divided into leakage losses in the pump chambers and losses due to liquid compressibility. The need of accounting for only the leakage losses for pump evaluation is pointed out.

This paper presents the modifications that have been made to the sickle insert of the gear pump with internal gearing. This procedure allowed the obtainment of radial compensation. The test stand to plot the characteristics of the pump before, as well as after the first and second modification is discussed. The results of the measurements from the tests conducted are presented. The results obtained confirmed the achievement of radial compensation by cutting the appropriate channel in the sickle insert. As a result, it will be possible to obtain a higher discharge pressure for this type of pump and to increase its efficiency.

In the article, the analytical dependences of modelling the cell cross-sectional area between two adjacent blades of a rotary blade pump and capacity for a pump with fixed and rotating stators are given, and analytical dependences are derived to model the power necessary to overcome the friction forces of the blades. The forces acting on the radially placed blade of a rotary pump with a fixed stator (non-rotating or stationary) and a rotating stator are analyzed. Design and technological parameters that influence the pump capacity and power are taken into account. The power required for the movement of the pump blade without taking into account the compression of the air has the opposite character of the change as to the pump capacity The capacity of a rotary pump with a rotating stator is three times higher than that of a stationary stator. The rotary pump with a rotating stator, with six radially spaced blades, consumes 0.854 [kW] less power to overcome the blade friction of 1313 kW The results of modelling of the pump work are given.

Opis:
Adsorption cooling and desalination technologies have recently received more attention. Adsorption chillers, using eco-friendly refrigerants, provide promising abilities for low-grade waste heat recovery and utilization, especially renewable and waste heat of the near ambient temperature. However, due to the low coefficient of performance (COP) and cooling capacity (CC) of the chillers, they have not been widely commercialized. Although operating in combined heating and cooling (HC) systems, adsorption chillers allow more efficient conversion and management of low-grade sources of thermal energy, their operation is still not sufficiently recognized, and the improvement of their performance is still a challenging task. The paper introduces an artificial intelligence (AI) approach for the optimization study of a two-bed adsorption chiller operating in an existing combined HC system, driven by low-temperature heat from cogeneration. Artificial neural networks are employed to develop a model that allows estimating the behavior of the chiller. Two crucial energy efficiency and performance indicators of the adsorption chiller, i.e., CC and the COP, are examined during the study for different operating sceneries and a wide range of operating conditions. Thus this work provides useful guidance for the operating conditions of the adsorption chiller integrated into the HC system. For the considered range of input parameters, the highest CC and COP are equal to 12.7 and 0.65 kW, respectively. The developed model, based on the neurocomputing approach, constitutes an easy-to-use and powerful optimization tool for the adsorption chiller operating in the complex HC system.
