An overview of assessment strategies in an evidence-based programme aimed at promoting entrepreneurial skills of disadvantaged young people. Key-elements of evidence-based programs are reviewed and the development of a competence questionnaire to fulfil the requirements of assessments of evidence-based programme development practices and research based on Chorpita’s (2003) categorization. The strategies of selecting scales to utilize in content validation of the ten competencies identified are provided. Self-efficacy, assertive behaviour, locus of control scales, as well as the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (Goodman, 1997) have corroborate the content validity of the competency questionnaire by providing strong correlation with required competency sub-scales at a p < 0,01 significance level. On the other hand, two alternative possible explanations are offered why self-esteem scale of Rosenberg (1965) did not provide any correlations.

The predominant context for strategy research over the last three decades has focused on language learning situated in a conventional classroom environment. Computer technology has brought about many changes in language learning and has become ecological and normalized rather than a supporting tool in the language classroom. Consequently, the landscape of language learning has been rapidly and largely changed with the normalization of technologies in people’s daily communication. The pervasive use of mobile technologies and easy access to online resources require that digital language learners understand and employ appropriate learning strategies for learning effectiveness and that their teachers are able and willing to teach these strategies as needed. This article provides an overview of the state-of-the-art research into technology-enhanced language learning strategies. The strategies under review include those for language learning skill areas, language subsystems, and self-regulated learning. At the end, we discuss the pressing issues that Digital Age language learning has posed to learners, teachers, and researchers and propose considerations for strategy research in digital realms.

The Turkish textile and apparel industry is losing ground as a global player. This forces it to make a careful future analysis to determine the road map ahead and to develop appropriate strategies. Since long term success heavily depends on the development and implementation of strategies that best respond to future requirements for achieving objectives, this study aims to develop strategies for the Turkish apparel industry and determine key strategies among them with a procedure that enables users to make a strategy assessment. For this aim, an approach involving scenario development and strategy appraisal is proposed and applied to the Turkish apparel industry. After describing the general framework of the application, main issues and findings are summarised for the industry and companies acting in the field.
Turecki przemysł tekstylny i odzieżowy traci swoją wiodącą pozycję. Wymusza to staranną analizę przyszłych działań dla określenia kierunku rozwoju i opracowania odpowiednich strategii. Ponieważ długotrwający sukces silnie zależy od rozwoju i wprowadzenia strategii, które najlepiej odpowiadałyby przyszłym wymaganiom dla uzyskania sukcesu w artykule opracowano scenariusze dla przemysłu i dla firm działających w tym przemyśle.

The main aim of this article is to explore the question of what assessment methods researchers and teachers can employ in order to identify second/foreign language learners’ strategies for language learning and use, bearing in mind a number of vital technical or methodological considerations voiced by other researchers so far. The information presented in the article may help researchers to plan and effectively conduct language learner strategy research, taking into consideration a number of essential, targeted questions related to research quality, its methodology, as well as tools selection and evaluation criteria. Subsequently, in language education it may constitute the starting point for the process of learner strategy training in the classroom and beyond it. This, in turn, may encourage learners to stretch their individual learning preferences, develop and enrich language learning strategy repertoires, and facilitate future autonomous or self-regulated language learning, and continued lifelong learning.

Ineffective evaluation of operations strategy, resulting in negative side effects, is increasingly frequently reported in literature. It is mostly explained by non-integral and inconsistent assessment. Therefore an integrated framework for assessment was conceptualized to eliminate the reported dysfunctionalities. It is based on the paradigm of New Economy, holism, and departs from common but narrowing approaches, which solely focus on the business/company point of view. The proposal applies an ecosystemic perspective, which is fundamental for collaborative networks or when Internet ecosystems are used to drive operations. Both, procedural and cultural foundations are considered in the proposed solution.

A large amount of electric vehicles (EVs) charging load will bring significant impact to the power system. An appropriate resource allocation strategy is required for securing the power system safety and satisfying EVs charging demand. This paper proposed a power coordination allocation strategy of EVs’ in distribution systems. The strategy divides the allocation into two stages. The first stage is based on scores assigned to EVs through an entropy method, whereas the second stage allocates energy according to EV’s state of charge. The charging power is delivered in order to maximize EV users’ satisfaction and fairness without violation of grid constraints. Simulation on a typical power-limited residential distribution network proves the effectiveness of the strategy. The analysis results indicate that compared with traditional methods, EVs, which have higher charging requirement and shorter available time will get more energy delivered than others. The root-mean-square-error (RMSE) and standard-deviation (SD) results prove the effectiveness of the methodology for improving the balance of power delivery.

Based on a critical analysis of literature, the paper has as goal to highlight the basic elements, which should be taken into account in assessing a coherent framework for assessment and classification of global environmental risks. In order gather the attention of professionals in this field of concern, a rather unemployed approach is used, based on the analogy with characters and situation specific to Greek mythology. In correlation with the above- mentioned issues, in the final section of the paper, an attempt is made to develop a management strategy of global environmental risks.
Na podstawie krytycznej analizy literatury, autorzy artykułu naświetlili podstawowe elementy, które należy uwzględnić w trakcie szacowania i klasyfikacji globalnych zagrożeń środowiska. W celu przyciągnięcia uwagi profesjonalistów z tego zakresu wykorzystano raczej nieużywane dotąd podejście oparte na analogii do bohaterów i sytuacji z greckiej mitologii. W nawiązaniu do wspomnianych powyżej zagadnień, w końcowym paragrafie artykułu zaproponowano opracowanie strategii zarządzania globalnymi zagrożeniami środowiska.

The study aimed to determine the personality indicators of the avoidant coping strategy in adolescent youth in situations of social conflict. The Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (adapted by I. Dzwonkowska, K. Lachowicz-Tabaczek, and M. Łaguna), the Stress Assessment Questionnaire (Kwestionariusz Oceny Stresu, KOS) designed by D. Włodarczyk and K. Wrześniewski, and Questionnaire for Coping Strategies in Adolescents in Situations of Social Conflict (Kwestionariusz do badania strategii radzenia sobie młodzieży w sytuacji konfliktu społecznego) created by Borecka-Biernat (2012). The empirical research was conducted in middle schools on 893 adolescents (468 girls and 425 boys) aged 13 to 15. An analysis of the research results indicates that a young person’s low assessment of own abilities and the assessment of a situation of conflict as a threat or harm/loss co-occur with the avoidant coping strategy in situations of social conflict.

The codling moth, Cydia pomonella (L.), is the key pest of apple production worldwide. In Morocco, there is a sustainable presence of codling moth causing considerable damage in apple orchards despite frequent applications of broad spectrum insecticides. For 12 years, sexual trapping and chemical control were performed and the development of the codling moth population was analysed in an orchard which was in the region of Azrou. The efficacy of some insecticides (azinphos-methyl, chlorpyriphos-ethyl, diflubenzuron, thiacloprid, methoxyfenozide, spinosad, and deltamethrin) was also evaluated on neonate larvae and compared with a laboratory sensitive strain. This procedure was done to assess an eventual resistance in Moroccan populations. The action threshold was usually exceeded, leading to an intensive chemical control, with an average frequency of 9 to 13 days. The chemical control was done according to the action persistence time of the insecticides and the trap captures. However, those two parameters are compromised in Moroccan conditions because of the high summer temperatures which disrupt the action of insecticides and exacerbate populations. The pheromone traps may become ineffective and useless. Neonate larvae were resistant to five insecticides out of seven. Such results suggest the presence of a cross resistance in local strains. Overall, the insect resistance, the functioning of the sexual traps, and some insecticides properties (persistence action, pre-harvest interval) are the key factors that could explain the failure to control these moths under Moroccan conditions.

Opis:
This article explores the development of a new business strategy in the Republic of Lithuania that focuses on the processing of waste tires into fuel. An innovative approach has been adopted, which incorporates three interdependent components: managerial, legal, and financial/economic factors. This approach ensures the integration of different levels and functions of management for the inclusive development of this business in the Republic of Lithuania. A set of indicators has been proposed, which were used to conduct a comparative analysis of alternative types of energy used for heating, such as diesel fuel, pyrolysis, wood pellets, electricity, and natural gas. A mathematical model has been constructed to formalize the financial and economic results of the tire recycling business, and it can be used to determine the results with any number of recycled tires. The investment analysis of the tire recycling business in the Republic of Lithuania confirms the economic feasibility of the proposed strategy. The risk assessment of the proposed strategy was also conducted, taking into account the technical and possible initial volumes of processing. Based on these economic and mathematical tools, managerial decisions can be made regarding the strategic alternatives for implementation. Additionally, the implementation of this strategy can lead to multiple positive environmental and social outcomes such as reduction of waste tires in landfills and decrease in dependence on fossil fuels. The results of this research provide a valuable basis for decision-makers in the government and private sector to consider the implementation of this innovative strategy and contribute to the sustainable development of the country.

This paper illustrates a strategy for advancing and assessing critical thinking skills in an undergraduate business program. The 21st Century Bloom’s taxonomy is implemented to support the continuous and progressive development of critical thinking skills across the curriculum. The success of this strategy for critical thinking development is based on the effectiveness of sequentially designed instruction with a continuous process of assessing critical thinking skills development throughout all four years of the undergraduate program. This strategy can be implemented with minimal effort within any undergraduate program that is responsible for educating future entrepreneurs.
Ovaj rad ilustrira strategiju za unapređivanje i procjenu sposobnosti kritičkog razmišljanja u preddiplomskom poslovnom programu. Bloomova taksonomija 21. stoljeća provodi se kao potpora stalnom i progresivnom razvoju vještina kritičkog mišljenja kroz nastavni plan i program. Uspjeh ove strategije za razvoj kritičkog mišljenja temelji se na učinkovitosti sekvencijalno osmišljene nastave uz kontinuirani proces procjene razvoja sposobnosti kritičkog mišljenja tijekom sve četiri godine preddiplomskog programa. Ova se strategija može provesti uz minimalan napor u okviru bilo kojeg preddiplomskog programa koji je odgovoran za obrazovanje budućih poduzetnika.

The aim of the research wasthe relationship between cognitive assessment of the conflict situation, emotional reflection of the situation and examining the coping strategies of parents in the conflict situation and the presence of aggressive coping strategies of adolescents in social conflict situations. In the research the author took advantage of the Stress Appraisal Questionnaire (KOS) D. Włodarczyk, K. Wrześniewski, the Three-Factor Inventory of Personality States and Traits (TISCO) by C. Spielberger, K. Wrześniewski, the author's questionnaire for examining the parental strategy as perceived by a child (SRwSK) and the author’s questionnaire testing the adolescent coping strategies in a social conflict situation (KSMK). Empirical studies were carried out in junior high schools in Wroclaw and the surrounding area. They involved 893 adolescents (468 girls and 425 boys) aged 13–15. Analysis of the research results has proven that assessing a situation as a threat intensifies the aggression strategy of adolescent coping in a social conflict situation. The research shows that adolescents participation in a situation when realization of their own aspirations are in danger intensifies negative emotions. Aggression is a form of coping with anger and anxiety felt in a social conflict situation. It was found that parents who apply a strategy based on aggression contribute to the modelling of aggressive strategies used by young people. It should be noted that sex plays an important role in the modelling. Impacts made by a parent of the opposite sex which favours the strategy of aggression developed by adolescent young people was also noted.

The purpose of the article is developing the locomotive structure of intellectual system of support of decision-making and to find a criterion by which to adequately assess different control action to the train. System of decision support for locomotive crew is seen as a complex structure with complex interactions located at a great distance, on-board locomotive systems. The quality of the organization determines the effectiveness of the system as a whole. To solve the problem of creating the optimal structure of the DSS applies the aggregate-decomposition method that involves two steps: decomposition of the problem into a number of subproblems and aggregating the partial results. To evaluate the quality control of a locomotive used the concept of control strategy with specific indicators. Design is developed and structure of locomotive DSS is obtained, taking into account peculiarities of operation of railway transport. To account for not only quantitative but also qualitative characteristics of activity of the locomotive or intellectual systems of decision support, it is proposed to use methods of fuzzy logic. So were able to deduce and calculate the additive criterion of the quality control activities of the intelligent system. Formal indicator of the quality of the train control process using different strategies is received. In the work theoretically grounded definition of the weighting factors for each partial criterion of the quality of train control. Using the dependencies derived, the nature of the influence of the value of partial criteria on the quality of train control in relation to a strategy. The results of the work allow to more accurately simulate the operations of a locomotive crew, which in the future will serve as the basis for the development of autonomous intelligent systems of locomotive control. The developed method is shown to be three main criteria which values the safety, energy consumption, and execution time schedule. However, for more flexible and accurate model, this approach allows to enter additional criteria, and the simplicity of the calculation provides the necessary speed when implemented on on-board locomotive computers.

Opis:
Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie metody zintegrowanej oceny projektów czystszej produkcji, uwzględniającej kryteria ekologiczne, ekonomiczne i społeczne oraz jej empiryczna weryfikacja.
The integrated and multicriterion assessment method for cleaner production projects is presented in the paper. It not only takes into consideration the costs and benefits generated within the enterprise during implementation of the project but also examines the external environmental, economic and social costs and benefits. Two factor variants, both taking into account identical and different time stretches for cost and benefit levels, are proposed to determine the effectiveness of the projects. The discussed cleaner protection project assessment method was applied to evaluate projects realized by a textile plant located in the Podlasie Voivodship.
