    The paper characterizes the teaching process based on the mechanical engineering undergraduate and graduate programs at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Maritime University of Szczecin. The profiles of graduates in different specializations of this direction (engine room operation, the operation of marine propulsion and power devices, diagnostics and repair of marine machinery equipment, environmental protection in the operation of fleet and ports) are presented. Particular attention is paid to the description of the “engine room operation” graduate profile specialization. Graduates of this direction are trained for the positions of engineer officers on ships of various types. Attention is drawn to the characteristic features of various types of classes and practical training. The characteristics of undergraduate studies is complemented by the characteristics of graduate studies (“marine construction and operation of energy systems” specialization). The most important documents underlying the organization of studies, including the documents governing the training of marine engineer officers are quoted.

    We observe a number of evolutionary processes common to many societies, which form the general social effect, in particular in the form of globalization of education. Becoming a dominant trend in the development of the world economy and education, globalization has a transformative impact on national systems of higher education. The article is devoted fundamental problems and values strategies of education. Examines the impact of globalization trends on the processes in societies in transformation transitive systems. The necessity of pluralism of paradigms on the way of new development in higher education is substantiated. The quality of education, in turn, is determined not only by the ability of society to quickly assimilate the knowledge gained. It is increasingly dependent on its moral, ethical and cultural components, that is, elements of the education system, its quality management. The educational process appears in this context as an object of both pedagogical and managerial, and social analysis in the context of the implementation of educational, educational and educational trends in global development in the European educational system.

    Uniwersytet to instytucja, której fundamentalnym zadaniem jest zdobywanie i przekazywanie prawdy naukowej. Do niedawna edukacja akademicka postrzegana była jako wartość sama w sobie, obecnie zaś dominuje postrzeganie uczelni wyższej jako instytucji ekonomicznej, od której oczekuje się szybkiego przygotowywania siły roboczej. W takiej perspektywie edukacja wyższa sprowadzona zostaje do roli edukacyjnego przemysłu nastawionego na sprzedaż usług. Dyplom akademicki z symbolu wiedzy i wykształcenia, a więc wartości samej w sobie, staje się towarem. Wydarzeniem, które wymusiło przeobrażenia w systemie szkolnictwa wyższego, była implementacja Deklaracji bolońskiej. Celem badań było poznanie opinii studentów na temat realizacji postanowień Deklaracji bolońskiej. Podjęto próbę analizy związku pomiędzy opiniami badanych o takich kwestiach jak: wielostopniowość studiów, punktacja ECTS, mobilność studentów, suplement do dyplomu, procedury zapewniające jakość kształcenia, a profilem, kierunkiem, trybem i etapem studiów. Uzyskane wyniki wskazują na zróżnicowane opinie studentów o narzędziach procesu bolońskiego, znacząca grupa badanych deklaruje brak zdania. Respondenci kierunków praktycznych oraz państwowych szkół zawodowych pozytywnie postrzegają wieloetapowość studiów. Badani, reprezentujący studia II stopnia deklarują, iż studia wieloetapowe wydłużają kształcenie, częściej także wyrażają krytyczne opinie o suplemencie do dyplomu. Przedstawiciele kierunków ogólnoakademickich uznają, iż podział procesu edukacji na stopnie wydłuża kształcenie, jest źródłem dodatkowych obowiązków np. przygotowanie pracy licencjackiej.
    University is an institution whose fundamental task is to gain and distribute scientific truth. Until recently, academic education was seen as a value itself, nowadays, however, a university is often considered an economic institution, expected to swiftly produce workforce. Due to such perspective, higher education is degraded to a peculiar branch of industry, whose essence is to sell its services. An academic diploma instead of being a symbol of knowledge, has become another commodity available on the market. The thing that forced the transformation of the higher education system was acceding to the Bologna Process. The aim of the research was to get to know students’ opinions concerning the realization of the Bologna Process resolutions. An attempt to analyze the connection between the opinions of the students on such matters as multistage studies, ECTS points, students’ mobility, a diploma supplement and procedures ensuring the correct education quality in terms of a profile, department and stage of studies was made. The results indicate various opinions among students concerning the Bologna Process with the majority of them declaring not having any opinion about it at all. The respondents of the practical fields of studies and state vocational schools are positive about the multistage form of studying. The group representing the 2nd stage of studying declare that multistage studies make education process longer and they are often more critical towards the diploma supplement. The representatives of general fields of university studies declare that the division of the education process into degrees, makes the process longer and is the source of extra duties, for example, writing a B.A. dissertation.

    This article deals with vocational education as an element of globalization in the modern world. The aim of the article is to determine the basic issues in the field of vocational education in times of globalization. The article focuses on such issues as the specificity of vocational education in Poland and in the world, the importance of vocational education for the contemporary world, the concept and features of globalization, determinants of globalization in the modern world and vocational education as a result of globalizing the world today. A man from a citizen of a given state has become a citizen of the world. This fact brings with it both a lot of advantages and many threats, including in the sphere of vocational education, for which ubiquitous changes have brought many new challenges. This particularly applies to the adaptation of curricula to the needs of societies operating in new economic, social and cultural conditions, including taking action to reduce the disproportion between the knowledge mastered by students and the skills or the extension of specialist education. Vocational education must face the necessity of changing priorities in order to educate mobile employees of the market economy, active and capable of continuous self-education, in accordance with globalization trends.
    Niniejszy artykuł dotyczy edukacji zawodowej jako elementu globalizacji we współczesnym świecie. Celem artykułu jest ustalenie podstawowej problematyki w zakresie miejsca edukacji zawodowej w czasach globalizacji. W artykule skoncentrowano się na takich kwestiach, jak specyfika edukacji zawodowej w Polsce i na świecie, znaczenie edukacji zawodowej dla współczesnego świata, pojęcie i cechy globalizacji, jak również determinanty/ uwarunkowania globalizacji we współczesnym świecie i edukacja zawodowa jako efekt globalizującego się świata. Człowiek, z obywatela danego państwa, stał się obywatelem świata. Fakt ten niesie ze sobą zarówno dużo zalet, jak i zagrożeń, w tym w sferze edukacji zawodowej, dla której wszechobecne przemiany przyniosły wiele nowych wyzwań. Dotyczy to zwłaszcza przystosowania programów nauczania do potrzeb społeczeństw funkcjonujących w nowych warunkach gospodarczych, społecznych i kulturowych, w tym podjęcia działań zmniejszających dysproporcję między opanowywaną przez uczniów wiedzą a umiejętnościami czy rozszerzenia kształcenia specjalistycznego. Szkolnictwo zawodowe musi zmierzyć się z koniecznością zmiany priorytetów, aby zgodnie z trendami globalizacyjnymi kształcić mobilnych pracowników gospodarki rynkowej, aktywnych i zdolnych do ciągłego samokształcenia.

    Celem podjętych analiz jest omówienie współczesnych kierunków i trendów w umiędzynarodowieniu edukacji wyższej w Chinach. Przedmiotem badań jest zjawisko umiędzynarodowienia na poziomie edukacji wyższej – instytucjonalne rozwiązania oraz praktyczne implikacje. Opisane zostały krajowe programy usprawniania przepływu wiedzy, migracje studentów chińskich, tworzenie transnarodowych uczelni wyższych oraz polityka zatrudniania międzynarodowej kadry akademickiej. W treści artykułu wykorzystano badania zastane chińskich i zagranicznych autorów. Jako metodę badawczą wybrano analizę źródeł wtórnych.
    The aim of the article is to discuss patterns and trends of internalization in China’s higher education. The article answers the question whether China managed to preserve the local culture in the process of internationalization of education, or perhaps westernization of education dominated these process. The subject of research is the phenomenon of internationalization at higher education stage. Several institutional solutions and practical implications has been described. The article uses existing research by Chinese and foreign authors.

    Opis:
    The most significant process of the modern civilization advancement is globalization. The crucial tendencies of the world educational system development aim at strengthening the main role of knowledge as a component of employee workshop, often much more precious than the material part, originating from the employer. In 1991, due to globalization processes, Ukraine abandoned the Soviet higher education model, following the international scenario of the higher education development. In the last few years some propositions for reforms of the above system have appeared. The Draft Law on Higher Education approved in December 2012 has made the situation less clear. Currently, the provisional Government of Ukraine declares an intention to tackle the situation properly. It seems necessary to conduct further work on the basis of certain fundamental assumptions and the experiences of countries trying to achieve the mentioned objectives in similar conditions, like Poland or the Czech Republic, etc. In all these countries there is a need for change in order to abandon huge hierarchic and administrative structures by organizing small, self-controlling as well as adaptive structures, and to rethink not only teaching methods but the whole legal environment and organizational principles.
    Globalizacja jest najbardziej znaczącym procesem w rozwoju współczesnej cywilizacji. Znalazło to odzwierciedlenie w głównych tendencjach rozwoju globalnego systemu edukacji, polegających na wzmocnieniu roli wiedzy jako zasadniczego składnika warsztatu pracy, często dużo cenniejszego niż część materiałowa, pochodząca od pracodawcy. W 1991 roku Ukraina porzuciła sowiecki model szkolnictwa wyższego, orientując się na progresywne, międzynarodowe rozwiązania. Projekty prawnych rozwiązań przyjęte w grudniu 2012 roku wywołały na Ukrainie wiele kontrowersji. Obecnie rząd tymczasowy zadeklarował uporządkowanie sytuacji w kierunku wdrożenia proeuropejskich standardów. Wzorowanie się na rozwiązaniach przyjętych w innych postsowieckich krajach, takich jak Polska lub Republika Czeska, może przynieść oczekiwane efekty, ale nie powinno być bezkrytyczne. Niektóre przyjęte w tych krajach biurokratyczne rozwiązania mogą bowiem zahamować procesy prorozwojowe i innowacyjne. Wymaga to ponownego przewartościowania i fundamentalnego przemyślenia nie tylko metod nauczania, ale i rozwiązań prawno-organizacyjnych przyjętych przy modernizacji szkolnictwa wyższego, prowadzących do porzucenia rozbudowanych administracyjnych struktur na rzecz stworzenia małych, adaptatywnych, samodzielnie zarządzanych organizacji.

    Niniejszy artykuł koncentruje się na analizie różnych metod nauczania oraz edukacji prawniczej na świecie. Globalizacja prawa jako jeden z efektów globalizacji na świecie powoduje konieczność wykorzystania wiedzy z różnych systemów prawnych przez prawników, którzy pracują w różnych branżach i instytucjach prawnych. W związku z tym konieczne jest zastosowanie metod komparatystycznych w nauczaniu prawa, które przygotują prawników do dynamicznych zmian w systemach prawnych. W wykorzystaniu takich metod nauczania konieczne są określone umiejętności i wiedza oraz różnorodna metodologia prawnej interpretacji. Ograniczenia edukacji prawnej jedynie do określonych metod nauczania potencjalnie powodują brak przygotowania prawników w obliczu ewolucji i zbliżania się prawnych instytucji w współczesnym świecie. Jest zatem oczywiste, że konieczna jest zmiana tradycyjnego nauczania prawa. Ponadto edukacja prawnicza powinna być powiązana z praktycznymi aspektami wykonywania zawodów, co nadal nie jest szeroko stosowane na uniwersytetach europejskich.

    The paper’s starting assumption is the increasing globalization of/in science. It means that the management of scientific knowledge is directed towards the networked scientific relations. The scientific networks combine scientists from different academic centers, research institutes, from various countries and continents. Ones of the most significant conceptions, which emerge from the discussion between globalization and internationalization, are: globally engaged university and bridge building. The next step in the considerations is associated with the most desired model of education which can be treated as a prominent stage in the internationalization policy. This issue is related to elaborating the intellectual capacities especially competencies in the area of intercultural education and internationalization of the administrative service at university. The examples of changes are those connected with the teacher’s roles, their educational approaches, holistic attitude to professional development including both the scientific mobility and the emphasis on the life-long learning process. The wider context of mentioned problems of an effective internationalization policy formulates postulations of socialization of good practices, cultural inclusion and strengthening international scientific collaboration.

    Treść opracowania koncentruje się wokół kilku kwestii, a mianowicie: społecznych skutków globalizacji. Autor, odwołując się do poglądów różnych autorów, zwraca uwagę na społeczne konsekwencje procesu globalizacji w różnych dziedzinach życia; sytuację szkoły polskiej w dobie globalizacji; konieczność zmiany procesu kształcenia uczniów zdolnych. Podkreśla, iż jednostki zdolne są szczególnie predysponowane do podjęcia wyzwań niesionych przez globalizację. Skupia się na kryteriach rozpoznawania uczniów zdolnych; problemie opieki nad uczniami zdolnymi w Polsce; kierunkach zmian w strategii kształcenia uczniów zdolnych. Mówi też o konieczności wprowadzenia zasadniczych zmian w procesie kształcenia ogólnego w aspekcie pracy z uczniami zdolnymi.
    The summary of this study concerns following topics: the social consequences of globalization. The author of this study refers to the various authors and emphasizes the importance of the consequences related to globalization in different parts of everyday life; the time of globalization; the need of transformation in the process of education of Poland; the need of transformation in the process of education of talented students. Moreover, this study emphasizes that the talented individual are predisposed and open for new transformation in globalization; the criteria discerning of intelligent young population; the problem of difficulties in a achieving required support for previously mentioned talented youth in Poland; directions of transformation in the strategies of education of talented students. It also emphasizes the importance of introduction of basic transformations in the process of education that concerns this particular group of young population.

Dzięki zaangażowaniu wielu partnerów społecznych i aktywnemu dialogowi z udziałem przedstawicieli rządu, pracodawców i pracobiorców, jak też związków zawodowych i organizacji pozarządowych, globalizacja przestała być straszakiem w debacie publicznej, a zaczęto ją postrzegać jako wyzwanie i szansę dalszego rozwoju. Za główny sposób radzenia sobie z globalizacją uznano większe otwarcie i dostosowanie nordyckich gospodarek narodowych do globalnych trendów, wykorzystując przy okazji dyskurs strategicznego umiędzynarodowienia do stymulowania zmian społecznych, gospodarczych i politycznych. Artykuł traktuje o sektorze szkolnictwa wyższego, który został wprzężony w realizację strategii umiędzynarodowienia, a który jednocześnie przeszedł metamorfozę dostosowującą go do nowych realiów, podobną do innych sektorów realizujących politykę publiczną.
    In order to face up to the challenges of globalization the Nordic countries made this problem the key issue in the modernization discourse, which led to debates within the framework of the so-called globalization strategies that took place in those countries in 2002-2009. Due to an active engagement of many social partners and to the participation of representatives of the government, employers and employees, as well as of the trade unions and non-government organizations, globalization stopped being seen as a bogey in public debate and began to be viewed as a challenge and a chance of further development. The main way of coping with globalization was seen in broader opening up and adaptation of the national Nordic economies to global trends, and the discourse on strategic internationalization came to be used to stimulate social, economic and political change. This paper concentrates on the sphere of higher education which was pressed into service in implementing the internationalization strategy and which at the same time underwent a metamorphosis and became adapted to the new reality, similar to that in the other sectors carrying out public policy.

    Opis:
    The paper analyses competences of the teacher in a virtual classroom. It describes the reconfiguration of social behaviours and the role of the teacher in the virtual class after taking into account the theory of dialectics of globalization by Anthony Giddens, developed by Norman Fairclough with respect to social discourse and interpersonal interactions. Taking into account the results of different authors’ empirical research on online teaching, social features of such a process and personality traits, social roles and professional competences of a virtual class teacher in Poland and the Republic of Korea are described.

    Opis:
    W artykule podjęto próbę zbadania wpływu ograniczeń związanych z pandemią COVID-19 na szkolnictwo wyższe, przede wszystkim na jego umiędzynarodowienie, mobilność studentów oraz nauczycieli akademickich. Omówiona została istota i rodzaje zjawiska "mobilności akademickiej", w oparciu o analizę wyników badań ukraińskich i zagranicznych naukowców, a także przepisy regulujące ten obszar działalności publicznej. Dokonano krótkiego przeglądu projektów naukowych z zakresu mobilności akademickiej, zainicjowanych przez polskie instytucje państwowe i organizacje zajmujące się działalnością edukacyjną. Dokonano przeglądu danych statystycznych przedstawionych w badaniach nad wpływem pandemii COVID 19 na szkolnictwo wyższe w krajach europejskich i na świecie. Główne problemy, z jakimi stykają się studenci i naukowcy przy realizacji projektów mobilności akademickiej, zostały zidentyfikowane i uporządkowane. Przeanalizowano wyniki badań ankietowych przeprowadzonych wśród polskich szkół wyższych na temat napotykanych przez nie problemów, sposobów ich rozwiązywania oraz dalszych działań na rzecz umiędzynarodowienia edukacji w społeczeństwie. Ustalono, że środowisko akademickie odkryło możliwości, jakie oferują nowoczesne technologie i w przyszłości będą one wykorzystywane, ale nie jako jedyne, dominującą formułą współpracy będzie wariant mieszany.
    The article attempts to investigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the quarantine restrictions associated with it on higher education, its internationalization, academic mobility of students and researchers, in particular. The essence, types of the phenomenon "academic mobility" are clarified, on the basis of the analysis of results of works of foreign and Ukrainians researchers, and also the regulatory legal acts regulating the specified sphere of public activity. A brief overview of scientific projects of academic mobility initiated before the pandemic, initiated by Polish government agencies and organizations engaged in educational activities. The statistics are presented in the study of the impact of the COVID 19 pandemic on higher education in European countries and the world. The main problems that students and scientists face in the implementation of academic mobility projects are identified and structured. The results of surveys conducted among Polish universities on the problems that arose in them, ways to solve them and further activities for the internationalization of education in a post-COVID society are analyzed. It has been found that the academic environment has opened up opportunities that offer modern technologies and in the future they would be used, but not the only ones, the dominant formula of cooperation will be warriors.

    Opis:
    In the article, the author stresses the necessity to abandon the traditional ways of teaching the Polish language and instead to develop the Key Competencies by utilizing private educational websites. During the crisis of traditional Polish philology, Polish language teachers and tutors discover new challenges as a result of alteration of the communication tools. Private educational sites represent the hi-tech didactic tools, which may co-determine the shape of the post-traditional Polish language teaching. National curriculum 2008 gives teachers and tutors a lot of freedom in constructing their own curriculum, however it requires possession of high competencies of the subject, just as maintaining one’s own website does. A creative use of contemporary didactic tools (but not colonization of such) represents a chance to counteract digital exclusion, structural violence and cosmopolitan identification; in addition it promotes e-inclusion. These are educational tasks important in countries in which the foreign capital dominates the media market (e.g. in Poland or Russia). It is only in the countries of so-called “democratic corporatism” (e.g. Germany, Austria, Norway) that electronic media are supervised, respect values fundamental for the society, address national concerns and serve local communities. Therefore, creation of private professional educational sites by Polish language teachers and tutors offers a chance to promote the national culture, to transform the subject “Polish language” into a post-traditional one, to develop the Key Competencies and to promote e-inclusion
