Opis:
This work presents the structure of viscous shock front in a non-ideal gas. The analytical expressions for the particle velocity, temperature, pressure and change-in-entropy within the shock transition region are derived taking into consideration the Landau and Lifshitz equation of state for non-ideal gas. The effects on the structure of shock front due to the variations of the coefficient of viscosity, Mach number, adiabatic exponent and parameter of non-ideality of the gas are investigated. The model developed in the paper is valid only for small values of Mach number M i.e., M<2.5.

Opis:
Laser-induced bubbles can be caused by an optical breakdown in water. They are a result of the optodynamical process where the energy of a high intensity laser pulse is converted into the mechanical energy through an optodynamic conversion. At this process the absorbed optical energy causes plasma expansion that in turn initiates dynamic phenomena: spreading of a shock wave and the development of a cavitation bubble. When the cavitation bubble reaches its maximum radius it starts to collapse due to the pressure of the surrounding liquid. This collapse in turn initiates a new bubble growth and bubble collapse. The process therefore repeats itself, resulting in so-called cavitation-bubble oscillations, with a new shock wave being emitted after every collapse. We present an optodynamic characterization of cavitation bubble's oscillations based on a laser beam-deflection probe. Employed setup enabled us one- or two-dimensional scanning with deflections of a laser probe beam. Deflections were detected with a fast quadrant photodiode.

Opis:
The production of ²²²Rn depends on the activity concentrations of ²²⁶Ra in the earth's crust, in soil, rock and water. Radon concentration levels are strongly affected by atmospheric influences such as rainfall, real humidity, temperature and barometric pressure, rather than by chemical processes, as it is an inert gas. In particular the exhalation of radon is positively correlated with moisture content, temperature and negatively with pressure, so that these factors must be considered in the determination of exhalation rates in environmental measurements. In this study, radon concentrations in soil gas were continuously monitored for nine months in ten minutes periods, using AlphaGUARD system and the fluctuations of radon concentration were compared with the regional meteorologic data, using time graphs.

Opis:
$Co_3V_2O_8$ is a member of kagomé staircase oxides, represented by general formula $M_3V_2O_8$ (M = Ni, Co, Mn). It attracted great attention due to strong magnetic anisotropy, magnetic phase transition, genuine macroscopic quantum effects, strong quantum fluctuations, low-temperature ferroelectricity, field-induced magnetic transitions, complicated phase diagram and displays long-range magnetic order because of geometrical frustration. Different routes to prepare the frustrated magnetic material was reported such as floating zone technique and conventional high temperature method. $Co_3V_2O_8$ (International Centre for Diffraction Data (ICDD): 16-675) was synthesized with $Co_3O_4$ (ICDD: 80-1536) as binary phase by microwave assisted preparation using $Co(NO_3)_2 ·6H_2O$ and $NH_4VO_3$. The synthesized material was characterization by powder X-ray diffraction, the Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and thermogravimetric-differential thermal analysis.
