Opis:
An original hybrid method of channels assignment for DS-CDMA system is discussed in the paper. This method combines standard PN codes assignment policy and dynamic channel assignment procedure that minimise the cost of channel assignment. OPNET simulation model DS-CDMA system was used for assessment of the hybrid method. The results of simulation presented in the paper confirmed that the proposed method importantly improves the quality of services in the third generation cellular system.

Opis:
This article presents the innovative 3G technology used in the VMS (variable message signs). The 3G optics is an advanced lenticular solution that allows an effective mixing of three colours (RBG) without the effect of the colour change depending on the viewing angle. This technology is in opposition to the previously used systems with the separated light beam distribution for the red, green and blue colour. The work describes in detail the functional and technical performance of the new VMS technology and summarizes the characteristics of the parameters obtained from the previously used light beam distribution technology. An important element of the study is to present a measures of performance and efficiency associated with the power consumption, light output, light distribution, visibility, legibility, reliability and durability. Particular attention was paid to the evaluation of the VMS optical performance efficiency. In addition, in the presented work were shown examples of the installed 3G VMS, as well as examples of graphic and text messages displayed on 3G signs.

This paper presents an inexpensive and simple dual-band bisected psi antenna for 3G, Wi-Fi, WLAN, and WiMAX applications is presented. The antenna comprises a bisected psi-shaped patch on a low-price FR4 substrate with a cropped ground plane on the other side, and is fed by a 50 Ω microstrip line. It operates at two distinct frequency bands of 1.87–2.76 GHz and 5.16–5.75 GHz with |S11|≤ -10 dB.

The paper presents output results of 3G network simulation software in the area of optimal site location as well as finding optimal values of antenna tilt. The loss of capacity is shown for a wide range of tilts and different antenna directions. Nonuniform distribution of base stations has been also included in the simulation scenarios influencing system performance. All of the described parameters are especially significant to CDMA systems network planning.

The article introduces a method of performing a radio link quality assessment based on the Link Quality Indicator (LQI) which will be calculated for every system that is available. The method presented has been developed during the netBaltic project completed in Poland and generally applies to the so-called maritime zone A, i.e. the sea area where ships are still within the range of shore-based radio communication systems, particularly 3G/LTE cellular networks. The algorithm was developed based on the results of measurements obtained during two separate campaigns. That measurement data served as a basis for the method’s initial assumptions and was utilized during the method’s verification.

This paper presents the performance analysis of different empirical radio propagation models used in wireless cellular networks. It particular, the parameters such as path loss and cell coverage area are studied for different cellular networks from second generation (2G) to fifth generation (5G). Accurate prediction of path loss and coverage area is highly desirable for planning of any wireless communication systems. Considering the urban terrain, the comparison is made between Hata model, Stanford University Interim (SUI) model, and modified SUI models. As a motivation for new millimeter wave (mm-wave) cellular systems, i.e., for 5G communication, the analysis is performed at 28 GHz. Considering -75 dBm as the desired minimum received power, it is observed that 2G communication (at 900 MHz using Hata model) experiences the lowest path loss and thus results into largest coverage area. The path loss is observed to be maximum for the future mm-wave systems (at 28 GHz using modified SUI model) that directly imply the smallest coverage area.

The most important feature of 3G mobile cellular network is introduction of voice data integrated service under multilayered cell environment to support overflow traffic of lower layered cells by upper ones. This paper deals with traffic model of three layered cells, i.e., micro cell, macro cell and satellite cell. Here a new call admission control is introduced for three layered cell of 3G mobile cellular network. State transition chain is designed for theoretical analysis of above mentioned traffic. Blocking probability of data call, new voice call and handover failure of voice call, probability of utilization of micro cell channel, macro cell channel and satellite cell channel are analyzed against different traffic parameters and yield logical results.

Opis:
Graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3 N4 ) is an attractive photocatalyst, however, its practical photocatalytic applications are still faced with huge challenges. The aim of this research is to identify the correlation between synthetic conditions and properties of the g-C3 N4 and derive an optimum synthesis condition for improving photocatalytic activities of the g-C3 N4. In this study, novel and versatile g-C3 N4 nanosheets were synthesized by the simple thermal pyrolysis of urea. In the synthesis process, the pyrolysis temperature and the heating rate, which can have the most significant influence on the structures and properties of g-C3 N4, were set as variables, and the effects were systematically investigated. When synthesized at a relatively high temperature, the amount of material being synthesized is reduced, however it has been found to represent optical properties suitable for highly efficient photo-catalyst by the increase in the thickness and defects formed in the g-C3 N4nanosheets. The photocatalytic degradation experiment of MB dyes indicated that the highest degradation of 95.2% after the reaction for 120 min was achieved on the g-C3 N4 nanosheets synthesized at 650°C.

The paper presents numerical modelling results of the band accelerated cooling during rolling process. For the numerical modelling the Forge3Ž and the SortRoll computer programs were used, which based on finite element method. Research were carried out for one of the bar rolling mill technological conditions. The studies were carried out for 30mm-diameter plain round bars. Constructional steel S355J2G3 (according to DIN St 52-3) was used for the research. The paper purpose was determination of the cooling ability of device for accelerated cooling process to checking possibility of the using this device in the rolling line, during normalizing rolling process. Investigation results elaborated in the paper made the basis for determination of the heat convection coefficients between cooled band and water for different pressure and water flow
W pracy przedstawiono wyniki numerycznego modelowania procesu przyspieszonego chłodzenia pasma podczas walcowania. Do modelowania matematycznego wykorzystano komputerowe programy FORGE3Ž oraz SortRoll oparte na metodzie elementów skończonych. Badania przeprowadzono dla warunków technologicznych jednej z walcowni prętów. Przedstawione w pracy badania przeprowadzono dla prętów okrągłych gładkich o średnicy 30mm. Materiałem wykorzystanym do badań była stal konstrukcyjna S355J2G3. Celem pracy było określenie warunków chłodzenia w urządzeniu do przyspieszonego chłodzenia pasma pod kątem sprawdzenia możliwości zastosowania tego urządzenia do chłodzenia prętów ciągu walcowniczym, podczas walcowania normalizującego. Opracowane wyniki badań stanowiły podstawę do wyznaczenia współczynników przejmowania ciepła przy chłodzeniu pasma wodą dla zmiennego ciśnienia i różnych przepływów wody.

Vibrational studies of amino acids experimentally and theoretically have been performed. The Semi-empirical methods optimization by PM6 and RM1 on the l- and d-amino acids (alanine, phenylalanine, aspartic and glutamic acid), showed no difference in energy between l-and d-isomers. The vibrational frequencies were calculated by semi-emprical methods (PM6 and RM1) and ab initio methods (B3LYP/6-31+G(d) and were scaled down by factors of 0.925 (RM1), 1.09 (PM6) and 0.89 (B3LYP/6-31+G(d)). The calculated and experimental vibrational frequencies have shown good general agreement.
