Opis:
Grinding is commonly responsible for the liberation of valuable minerals from host rocks but can entail high costs in terms of energy and medium consumption, but a tower mill is a unique power-saving grinding machine over traditional mills. In a tower mill, many operating parameters affect the grinding performance, such as the amount of slurry with a known solid concentration, screw mixer speed, medium filling rate, material-ball ratio, and medium properties. Thus, 25 groups of grinding tests were conducted to establish the relationship between the grinding power consumption and operating parameters. The prediction model was established based on the backpropagation “BP” neural network, further optimized by the genetic algorithm GA to ensure the accuracy of the model, and verified. The test results show that the relative error of the predicted and actual values of the backpropagation “BP” neural network prediction model within 3% was reduced to within 2% by conducting the generic algorithm backpropagation “GA-BP” neural network. The optimum grinding power consumption of 41.069 kWh/t was obtained at the predicted operating parameters of 66.49% grinding concentration, 301.86 r/min screw speed, 20.47% medium filling rate, 96.61% medium ratio, and 0.1394 material-ball ratio. The verifying laboratory test at the optimum conditions, produced a grinding power consumption of 41.85 kWh/t with a relative error of 1.87%, showing the feasibility of using the genetic algorithm and BP neural network to optimize the grinding power consumption of the tower mill.

Opis:
We develop a Q-switched degenerate laser, delivering a partially coherent light pulse of duration about 16 ns. The spatial coherence of the output laser pulse can be varied by tuning the spatial filter inside the laser resonator, and the oscillating transverse mode structure can be determined by measuring the degree of coherence of the output laser pulse. It is shown that the larger is the diameter of the spatial filter, the more are the oscillating transverse modes, and the lower is the degree of coherence. Based on coherent-mode representation for the partially coherent source, we can estimate the transverse mode contribution to the output partially coherent laser. The experimental results on suppressing speckle demonstrate that the generated partially coherent light possesses the characteristics of rapid reduction of spatial coherence, making it an ideal source for high-speed imaging and ranging applications.

In this paper, the macroscopic and microscopic deformation caused by sodium penetration in the carbon cathode has been studied during aluminum electrolysis. The distributions of sodium concentration in the carbon cathode has been measured by SEM-EDS. The microstructure change caused by the gradient of the sodium concentration in the carbon cathode has been studied using transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The results indicate that sodium penetration decreases with the increase of the penetration depth. The stresses caused by the gradient of the sodium concentration result in a remarkable change for the microstructure of the carbon cathode. The formation of dislocations resulting in dislocation arrays and the development of kink band networks bring about material damage growth and possibly subsequent weakening of the cathode. These results can provide useful information that is helpful in developing an improved comprehending of the microscopic deformation mechanism of the carbon cathode during aluminum electrolysis.

We theoretically investigate the tight focusing of radially polarized circular partially coherent(RPCPC) beams through a high numerical aperture objective. The sub-wavelength super-long optical needle and dark channel can be obtained near the focus, by engineering the source coherent length of the incident RPCPC beams. The length of the optical needle and the dark channel can be adjusted, and the obtained maximal lengths of the optical needle and the dark channel are both 22λ.The full width at half maximum of the optical needle and the dark channel are 0.6λ and 0.48λ, respectively.
