- NIK has examined the realisation of the obligations stemming from the provisions of the energy and climate package: the realisation by the government administration of the tasks aimed at providing competitiveness of the Polish economy simultaneously with meeting the requirements of the package; the effectiveness of activities related to adjusting economic activity resulting in greenhouses gases emission to the requirements set by the limits, and the effects of the adjustment to the energy and climate package, taking into account its impact on production costs. Since the scope of the audit was very broad, the article discusses mainly the issues related to the application of support mechanisms for the systems covered with the EU ETS directive. The conclusions of the article also comprise the most important information on the results of the audit.
