Opis:: Models of testimony: “re-writing the Holocaust literature” Abstract The article is a critical discussion of Pawel Wolski’s treatise titled Tadeusz Borowski – PrimoLevi. Prze-pisywanie literatury Holocaustu (Warsaw 2013). It is setting out selected aspects oftraversing of the researcher from Szczecin by considering the status of testimony literature.Also there is an emphasis put on the phenomenon of profiling using forms of utterancesin Holocaust discourse. The article shows two distinct strategies (analyzed by Wolski) ofautomodeling of writers’ own utterances: “towards” (Tadeusz Borowski) and “accordingto” (Primo Levi) preferred model of testimony shaped under the influence of contemporarypublic debate. Opis:: Two types of discourse in Polish “gulag literature” The purpose of this article is to show the differences in presenting the reality of concentration camps in polish postwar prose. I am presenting two discourses in gulag literature: humanistic and anti-humanistic. I find differences mainly in presenting the reality of concentration camp and I consider them with regard to concentration reality through the prism of stable humanistic values or internal perspective. I concentrate on showing the condition of human being in gulag reality and the perception of human dignity, the basic experiences in labor camp conditions such as people behavior and attitude, omnipresent death, and relations between people. In the summary I try to bring awareness to the process of language conventionalization and perpetuation of symbols in description of concentration camps. Opis:: Auschwitz as the Metaphor for Everything. Wojciech Albiński’s Oświęcimki The object of analysis in this article is the short prose collection entitled Oświęcimki (2014). Wojciech Albiński’s pieces reveal how strongly war and Holocaust clichés are rooted in thedictionary, gestures and collective bodily memory of contemporary generations. These texts can be also read as the critiques of the pop‑cultural infantilisation of the Shoah and the signs of tiredness due to the excess of traumatising testimonies on the events of World War II. As the author endeavours to demonstrate, Albiński’s texts reveal the empathetic unease and the real needs of approaching the past, understanding it, and searching for sense in it. Oświęcimki are analysed in the context of the issues connected with the functioning of the Holocaust in the permanently changing collective memory.
