Opis:: The article regards the Polish policy towards Ukraine from the time of the first government of the Civic Platform and Polish People’s Party to the Polish Air Force Tu-154 crash. The main aim of the article is to present the most relevant political actions which were made in this time by Polish authorities not only in terms of bilateral relations but also in terms of multilateral ideas and concepts which were important from the Ukrainian point of view i.e. the Eastern Partnership. The conducted research also based on the internal and external determinants of Polish and Ukrainian policy as well as on the party platform of the Civic Platform at that time. Both determinants and party platform were briefly described in the article. According to the research, it is possible to indicate several general conclusions: between 2007 and 2010 Ukraine remained (however with a changed role) one of the most significant Polish partners; the government of the Civic Platform decided to transfer lot of tasks regarding the policy towards Ukraine to the European Union; the Eastern Partnership program which was established in 2008 could not been treated as an equivalent of membership in the EU; the most important goals from the Polish point of view including measurable integration of Ukraine with the EU and NATO were not reached.

Opis:: Black humor in Władysław Szlengel works, with particular focus on Mała stacja Treblinki (A small station called Treblinki) Władysław Szlengel (1914–1943), was a Jewish poet writing in Polish. His works are the best example of the use of black humor in Polish poetry of World War II. War caused him to change his worldview, which is reflected in the change of humor in his works. The shift was so powerful that in fact Szlengel-commentator replaced Szlengel-satirist. He did not hesitate to use the sharpest irony both against his enemies and against other victims of the system. Opis:: In this paper, a nonlinear balancing cube system is considered, the concept for which is based on an inverted pendulum. The main purpose of this work was the modelling and construction of a balancing cube with the synthesis of the control system. The control objectives included swing-up and stabilization of the cube on its vertex at an unstable equilibrium. Execution of the intended purpose required, first, deriving a cognitive mathematical model. It was based on the Lagrange method. Next, a mathematical model for control purposes was derived. The project of the physical model of the balancing cube was presented. A stabilization system based on a linear quadratic regulator (LQR) was developed. Moreover, a swing-up mechanism was used to bring the cube close to the upper equilibrium point. The algorithm switching condition was important to enable the correct functioning of the system. The developed control system was verified in the Matlab environment. Finally, verifying experiments and comparisons among models (mathematical and physical) were performed.

Opis:: A novel measurement method and a brief discussion of basic characteristics of measuring the phase shift angle between two sinusoidal signals of the same frequency are presented in this paper. It contains a mathematical model for using conditional averaging of a delayed signal interfered with noise to measure the phase shift angle. It also provides characteristics of conditional mean values and discusses the effect of random interferences on the accuracy of the phase shift measurement. The way to determine the variance of the conditional mean value, together with the assessment of standard and expanded uncertainty, are described. The uncertainty characteristic shows the complementary properties of the discussed angle measurement principle for small absolute values || (minimum for = 0) relative to the correlation principle, where the minimum measurement uncertainty is present for = /2

Opis:: A magistral preparation based on the sage leaf decoction or infusion is one of the most popular herbal prescription prepared in pharmacies in Lower Silesia (Poland) for gargling in the pharyngitis or mouth infections. Other components of this preparation are boric acid, aluminum(III) acetotartrate or Burow's solution, and glycerol. The study aimed to investigate the polyphenolic composition and relations between herbal and chemical ingredients that are present in this mixture in comparison with the traditional aqueous galenic forms – infusion and decoction. The analysis was performed using HPLC-DAD and ESI-MS methods. The main polyphenolic ingredients of sage leaf were rosmarinic acid and luteolin 7-O-β-glucuronide. The content of analyzed polyphenols was higher in the decoction than in the infusion. The pharmacological activity of the examined mixture results from the presence of boric acid, aluminum(III) salts and polyphenolic components of sage leaf. The study showed that in the presence of excess salts of aluminum(III) and boric acid, sage polyphenols are partially soluble in an aqueous medium (mainly phenolic acids) and complexed as precipitated sediment (especially flavonoids). The aqueous solutions of this preparation are cloudy, which suggests limited solubility of the formed complexes. Therefore, the therapeutic activity of the sage leaf magistral preparation should be associated with the presence of water soluble caffeic acid esters like rosmarinic acid. The influence of luteolin glycosides coordination complexes is not evident. The obtained results also confirm the stability of the examined formula in the conditions of cold storage (4-6 °C) within 7 days from its production.
