    The plan for a Europe "United in Peace" proposed by Alcide De Gasperi remains valid. After centuries of wars between European countries, important steps have been taken towards integration: from the European Coal and Steel Community to the draft constitution. Building a united Europe and the Atlantic Alliance started a new chapter in the history of the "old continent" and the whole world: today they can make a significant contribution to deciding about the future, about the balance of power and balance on the international arena.

    Sukcesja czy transformacja systemu politycznego jest procesem niejednokrotnie wymagającym zmierzenia się z niechlubną przeszłością. Historia państw europejskich w XX w. zna wiele przykładów takich wydarzeń. Różne państwa podchodzą w odmienny sposób do oceny i rozliczenia przeszłości. Celem artykułu nie jest ocena decyzji politycznych, a jedynie przyjrzenie się kwestiom dogmatycznym oraz odpowiedź na pytanie, czy polityka stoi ponad prawem. Z drugiej strony należy postawić pytanie, czy strategia grubej kreski jest prawnie sprawiedliwa i moralnie słuszna. Autorka stawia hipotezę, że Europejski Trybunał Praw Człowieka nie odnosi się do oceny sprawiedliwości dokonywanej przez państwa – sukcesorów „trudnej przeszłości historycznej”, a jedynie ocenia legalizm podjętych orzeczeń. W wyniku analizy orzecznictwa ETPCz oraz literatury można dojść do wniosku, że instytucja międzynarodowa, jaką jest Europejski Trybunał, nie chce oceniać polityki obranej przez państwa, a jedynie kwestie poszanowania zasady legalizmu.
    Succession or transformation of the political system is a process that often requires dealing with the shameful past. The history of European countries in the 20th century knows many examples of such events. Thus, different countries have different approaches to assessing and settling the past. The aim of the article is not to evaluate political decisions, but only to look at dogmatic issues. Is politics above the law? On the other hand, is the thick line strategy legally fair and morally sound? The author hypothesizes that the European Court of Human Rights does not assess justice made by states – successors of the "difficult historical past", but only assesses the legality of the judgments made. As a result of the analysis of the jurisprudence of the ECtHR and the literature, it can be concluded that an international institution such as the European Tribunal does not want to assess the policy chosen by states, but only the issues of respecting the principle of legality.

    The article presents an outline of European touristic policy and the role of tourism sector in European economy. Statistical data show the importance of European tourism as the number one tourist destination worldwide. Institutions of EU involved with tourism (such as the European Parliament – Committee on Transport and Tourism, the European Commission – DG Enterprise and Industry: Tourism section) shall put more emphasis on some specific issues as there is no specific tourism policy and development programmes in this matter. An urgent consideration must be given to a proper touristic service marketing by enhancing promotion programs, taking patterns from successful experiences of other countries, using modern marketing tools taking inspiration from new emerging tourism markets worldwide. The author shows the possibilities and prospects that internal market gives to the tourism of Member States. Community actions and measures are aimed at strengthening the position of European tourism. Moreover challenges and opportunities of European compared to world tourism are described.

    The report is the result of a research in the field of human resource management strategies to show the role of human resources in the workplace and to what extent diverse human resources can contribute to a company's benefits on the example of Poland and Ukraine. Purpose: The aim of the research has been to find out the similarities and differences in the labour market of Poland and Ukraine and the attitude towards the diversity management in both neighbouring countries. Methods: This research has been carried out using the survey method. The research was conducted among 100 young Ukrainian people chosen by the random sampling method and compared to the result of similar research made among 100 Polish entrepreneurs. Results: It has shown significant differences in the perception of diversity as a resource that influences the efficiency improvement in enterprises. Other needs of employees in Poland and Ukraine have been indicated. The results have been presented against the background of the specific economic situation in both countries described on the basis of statistical data.

    Wstęp. Alergia to nadwrażliwość na podłożu immunologicznym. Alergiczny wyprysk kontaktowy (AWK) powstaje na podłożu reakcji nadwrażliwości typu komórkowego. W alergicznym wyprysku alergeny mają charakter haptenów, czyli niepełnych alergenów, które dopiero po penetracji do skóry i połączeniu się z nośnikiem białkowym stają się pełnowartościowe. Dlatego do rozwoju AWK niezbędny jest bezpośredni kontakt skóry z haptenem. Najczęstszymi alergenami – haptenami w tej dermatozie są metale (nikiel, chrom, kobalt), składniki gumy i substancje zapachowe, a także barwniki. Cel pracy. Celem pracy było ukazanie powiązań pomiędzy schorzeniami z grupy chorób alergicznych i autoimmunologicznych na podstawie analizy przypadku współistnienia u jednego chorego alergicznego wyprysku kontaktowego oraz choroby autoimmunologicznej tarczycy. Materiał i metody. Materiałem do przeprowadzonej analizy były badania diagnostyczne oraz przegląd doniesień naukowych w odniesieniu do przypadku 40- letniej pacjentki, u której wystąpił alergiczny wyprysk kontaktowy skóry, zaś w dalszej diagnostyce stwierdzono autoimmunologiczną chorobę tarczycy. W ramach badań diagnostycznych wykonano u pacjentki testy płatkowe z Europejską Serią Podstawową. Wyniki przeprowadzonych badań i konsultacji, których celem było ustalenie czynników determinujących wyprysk kontaktowy skóry wykazały alergiczny wyprysk kontaktowy w przebiegu alergii na Parafenylenodwuamina, Quaternium 15, Kalafonia, Budezonid oraz zdiagnozowano dodatkowo u pacjentki autoimmunologiczną chorobę tarczycy. Wnioski. Powyższy przypadek wykazuje, iż nie można wykluczyć wystąpienia korelacji pomiędzy tymi jednostkami chorobowymi. W oparciu o literaturę przedmiotu można założyć, że wyprysk kontaktowy skóry zwiększa predyspozycje do wystąpienia autoimmunologicznej choroby tarczycy. Zachodzi zatem celowość podjęcia dalszych badań w tym zakresie.
    Introduction. Allergy is immunological hypersensitivity. Allergic contact dermatitis (ACD) is formed on the reaction of cell hypersensitivity. Allergens, in allergic eczema, are haptene – incomplete allergens which, after proper skin penetration and connection to a protein carrier, become sterling. This is why the progression of allergic eczema is fundamental direct skin contact with haptene. The most common haptene in the dermatosis are metals, such as nickel, chromium or cobalt, rubber ingredients, flavourings and colourants. Objective. The aim of the study is to present the links between diseases from the group of allergic and autoimmunological diseases based on the analysis of the coexistence of allergic eczema and autoimmune thyroiditis in a single patient. Materials and method. The material for analysis was diagnostic tests and a review of scientific reports in relation to the case of 40-year-old patient who presented with allergic skin eczema, and who was later diagnosed with autoimmune thyroid disease. As a part of the diagnostic test, the patient was examined with the European Baseline Series of patch tests. The purpose of the results and consultations was to establish the determinants of allergic contact dermatitis. The results obtained showed allergic eczema as an allergy to Phenylenediamine, Quaternium15, Rosin, and Budesonide; the patient was additionally diagnosed with autoimmune thyroid disease. Conclusions. This case shows that it is impossible to exclude a cross-correlation between these diseases. Based on the literature, it can be assumed that allergic contact dermatitis increases the predisposition of the occurrence of autoimmune thyroid disease. There is a need for further research in this area.

    Przypadek kliniczny mastocytozy współistniejącej z atopowym zapaleniem skóry

    Wprowadzenie. Nazwą mastocytozy określamy grupę chorób, które charakteryzują się patologicznym rozrostem mastocytów tzw. komórek tucznych oraz ich spichrzaniem w miejscach, w których zwykle się lokalizują, tzn. w skórze, błonach śluzowych, szpiku, niektórych narządach wewnętrznych. Są to choroby rzadkie, zachorowalność na mastocytozę wynosi poniżej 0,01%. Przyczyny mastocytozy nie są jeszcze dokładnie znane, zaś jej przebieg jest zróżnicowany i uzależniony od wieku chorego, typu choroby, zajętych narządów, reakcji na leczenie oraz obecności współistniejących schorzeń. Natomiast atopowe zapalenie skóry to jedna z najczęstszych chorób alergicznych skóry. Występuje z częstością ok. 10–20% u dzieci oraz 1–3% u osób dorosłych. Najczęściej pierwsze objawy choroby pojawiają się w 1. roku życia. W powstawaniu choroby bierze udział szereg mechanizmów immunologicznych. Z atopowym zapaleniem skóry mogą współistnieć inne schorzenia, zwłaszcza alergiczne; jest to związane z tzw. marszem alergicznym. Cel pracy. Celem pracy jest opis przypadku 1,5 rocznego chłopca, u którego stwierdzono skórną postać mastocytozy współistniejącą z atopowym zapaleniem skóry, które utrudniało rozpoznanie mastocytozy. Materiał i metody. Badania oceny swoistych IgE za pośrednictwem panelu pediatrycznego mieszanego, badania kontrolne, tj. badanie ultrasonograficzne jamy brzusznej, okresowe morfologie z rozmazem oraz analiza literatury w odniesieniu do opisywanego przypadku. Wnioski. Dopiero wykonanie badania histopatologicznego umożliwiło postawienie trafnej diagnozy.
    Introduction. Mastocytosis is the name given to a group of diseases characterized by the pathological proliferation of so-called mast cells, and mast cells in their storage material where they usually locate: the skin, mucous membranes, bone marrow and some internal organs. These are rare diseases, the prevalence of mastocytosis being less than 0.01%. The causes of mastocytosis are not known while the course is varied and depends on the patient’s age, type of disease, the affected organs, response to therapy and the presence of comorbid conditions. Atopic dermatitis is one of the most common allergic diseases of the skin, with an incidence of 10–20% in children and 1–3% of adults. The most common initial symptoms appear during the first year of life. The emergence of the disease involves a number of immune mechanisms. With atopic dermatitis may coexist with other allergic diseases, especially those related to the so-called atopic march. Objective. The aim of the study was to describe the case of 1.5-year-old boy diagnosed with the form of cutaneous mastocytosis coexistent with atopic dermatitis, which made the diagnosis of mastocytosis difficult. Methods and material. Examination of the specific IgE by means of a mixed panel – paediatric, control examinations, i.e. abdomen ultrasound scan, periodic blood tests including blood count, and the above-mentioned case desk research. Conclusions. The histopathological examination enabled the right diagnosis to be made.

    Along with the growing public awareness of health problems caused by smoking tobacco, smoking is becoming less popular in many parts of the world. The decline in the number of people smoking cigarettes is also observed in Poland. Men are still the majority of addicted people. Both active and passive smoking can lead to cardiovascular diseases, strokes, and lung and laryngeal cancers. Recent studies show that the compounds contained in cigarette smoke can induce dysfunction of endocrine system and disrupt the process of spermatogenesis in smokers.
